sevreed Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 Yeah, and Alter is doing a Laevatein now for their 1/60 line! http://www.collectiondx.com/news_item/92013/alter_mecha_arx8_laevatein_full_metal_panic Why is this mech getting so much attention now all of the sudden? Bandai just released a Robot Spirits Belial and re-released the Laevatein to go along with it but I didn't think FMP would make it into the Metal Build line. Much less the Laevatein. It does make sense that Alter would continue the 1/60 line but I thought they would maybe do an enemy mech next. I wish Sunrise would get around to making a new anime series that actually has the Laevatein in it. Quote
Faisaijin Posted October 15, 2013 Posted October 15, 2013 (edited) i'd rather have MB Arbalest rather than a unknown no anime robot. Edited October 15, 2013 by Faisaijin Quote
raptormesh Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I would prefer the gernsback. CFs ftw. Quote
SuperHobo Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I think Bandai is doing the ARX-8 because it's the most recent arm slave that Sousuke used in the last manga or visual novel. However, all Bandai needs to do is repaint and remold it and then we can get the arbalest. And then repaint and remold the arbalest into the M9s. Do it Bandai do it. Quote
Archer Posted October 17, 2013 Author Posted October 17, 2013 I wonder what scale they'll go with for the metal build. The Alter figures are beautifully made, but they're a little too small for my tastes. Hopefully, the metal build will take the scale up a notch. I too wish they were going for the Arbalest though, unless Bandai knows some insider information regarding Full metal panic being jumpstarted for a new season or something Quote
Faisaijin Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 If all of those are included them im sold, just wished it was Arbalest instead. Quote
anime52k8 Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 the dark grey support structure under the base with the stairs probably wont be included, but everything in light grey probably will Quote
Archer Posted November 2, 2013 Author Posted November 2, 2013 I hope that all these ARX-8 figures are coming out at the same time because Alter and Bandai know something we don't about a new season of FMP, which I desperately NEED Quote
joppewo Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Metal Build Laevatin page is up. July release date for 17,000 yen! http://tamashii.jp/item/10665/ Quote
Squigglysquid Posted March 30, 2014 Posted March 30, 2014 Ooh, neat...1/48?! I too want a nice Arbalest, but I might actually consider one of these... Quote
Guyffon Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Just wondering if anyone else got this toy. I recent bought one and am amazed at the quality of the figure. Quote
F360 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I have mine on preorder from bbts and it's not in yet, waiting Quote
CF18 Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Just saw both Alter Savages listed in a few stores:http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-012810http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-012811http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/NEOGDS-148629http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/product/NEOGDS-148630 Quote
wmkjr Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Decisions, Tan or Grey? I'd get both but just want one. I wanna get that tan M9. Quote
Scream Man Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 so alter is re-issuing Arbalest, and bandai has teased a MB version. My question is this: Does anyone have that red Laexton MB thing, and if so, could they stand it next to a macross fighter of some sot so i can see scale? Ditto the Alter Arbalest if possible. Coz I'm mighty tempted... Quote
chyll2 Posted October 24, 2016 Posted October 24, 2016 the MB laevatein is approximate 180mm in height and scale well with other Metal build or 1/100 MG from Seed or 00. Bandai also teased a FMP figure for their tamashii nation event this coming weekend and Arbalest silhouette is in the teaser page. Quote
Scream Man Posted October 25, 2016 Posted October 25, 2016 Yeah Im leaning that way, but MBs arent cheap, so I'd want to be sure. Quote
kajnrig Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 (edited) Pre-order for the Alter 1/60 Arbalest at HLJ: http://hlj.com/product/ALT20816 @Hobby Search: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10424051 EDIT: Sorry. Arbalest, not Laevatein. That would be sweet, though. Edited October 26, 2016 by kajnrig Quote
mechaninac Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 ¥14,800 + S&H for a 5.7in tall mecha figure?... I want a drag off whatever Alter is smoking... Quote
F360 Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 ¥14,800 + S&H for a 5.7in tall mecha figure?... I want a drag off whatever Alter is smoking... Before the reissue the prices in the aftermarket was pretty high, but with bandai making a Metal build version , it might take most of sales from them . Quote
kajnrig Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 I just saw it in a random ad and jumped on it. Is Bandai releasing a figure of their own? Of the Arbalest and/or the Laevatein? I wasn't exactly keeping up with the rare updates for this series. Either way, I like Alter's sculpt. One thing I didn't particularly like about the Metal Build Laevatein, and which (along with finances) kept me from getting it, was the unnecessary flourish that Bandai always seems to indulge in. The Kotobukiya kit of the same subject matter cost significantly less and looked just as good in my eyes (if not better in some regards), with the only major drawback being its smaller scale. Anyway, I'm rambling. Quote
chyll2 Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Bandai releasing Arbalest is a speculation for this weekend event. Quote
Scream Man Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Tehy already did it as a Robot Spirit, so an MB would make sense Quote
Falcon Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 How good is the Alter design? How does it compare to the MB's? Quote
kajnrig Posted October 27, 2016 Posted October 27, 2016 Oy, speaking of unnecessary flourish... What's being shown in that second image, where parts of the robot are colored in black? Is it showing off articulated/removable armor panels? Decals/tampo markings? Quote
chyll2 Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 looks like a tease from the CAD file. The black kind of highlight the panels that maybe can move or where the gimmicks will be Quote
F360 Posted October 28, 2016 Posted October 28, 2016 How good is the Alter design? How does it compare to the MB's? here is a old video review from many years ago by one of the members here. here's normal photo review http://www.toyboxcollection.com/reviews/alterarb/ The other main difference is the size/scale. The MB FMP is 1/48 The Alter FMP is 1/60 For me it's MB all the way. Quote
F360 Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 TV Anime "Full Metal Panic! Invisible Victory" Officially Postponed to Spring 2018 Â http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2017/07/01-1/tv-anime-full-metal-panic-invisible-victory-officially-postponed-to-spring-2018 Â The site explains the reason for the postponement as below: Â "In addition to the original staff who have worked on the series since the first one, we have added new members and have sank our teeth into the production. However, Full Metal Panic! is the title that demands high level of capability and vitality not only from the new members, but also from the original ones. We have almost given up the project many times. At all such times, we worked our fingers to the bone in order to deliver the best work we can to the fans. Then literally, we reached our limit. We needed more time. We realize that we need to ask for more time to continue the production. As a result of various discussions, we have decided to postpone the airing to the Spring of 2018." Quote
