hirohawa Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 Have I missed anything in the last few months about more 1/48 Macross goodness from Hasagawa? Quote
PetarB Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Unfortunately not. I think many of us are waiting for the super pack version. Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Fast Packs should be a given, but where's the 1/48 YF-21??? Quote
505thAirborne Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 Fast Packs should be a given, but where's the 1/48 YF-21??? The YF-21 is what I'm waiting for!! Quote
Fatalist Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I really hope they release something soon. I've been itching to get a few different 1/48's and also pick up the VF-11B. Hopefully they'll re-release all the kits w/ FAST packs. Too fun to build! Quote
Zinjo Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Hasegawa has a gold mine with these kits I'm surprised they aren't exploiting them more... Quote
Valk009 Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I think the 1/48 did not fair too well and any upcoming kits are put on hold! Quote
Heavy Melder Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 I think the 1/48 did not fair too well and any upcoming kits are put on hold! What are you basing that on? Quote
joscasle Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 What are you basing that on? Yeah, I want to know too??? Quote
Gabe Q Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 I think we would have seen a super/strike version by now. It's been too long which leads me to believe it won't be released. Of course, I'm usually wrong in my assumptions so maybe we will see a release soon? Quote
PetarB Posted November 9, 2011 Posted November 9, 2011 I thought that a VF-11 would never be released, considering how the other aircraft from Macross Plus were released so long ago. So much for assumptions! Quote
Zinjo Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I would be more likely to speculate that Hasegawa is limiting the runs to keep from loosing any profits they gain with such a dodgy economic environment right now... Quote
reddsun1 Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 anybody got any pics of a Hasagawa 1/48 next to a Yammie 1/48 in fighter mode, for comparison? Quote
peter Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Yeah, I want to know too??? Maybe by the lack of posts with 1/48 Hasegawa completed kits here. Quote
Jefuemon Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 Maybe by the lack of posts with 1/48 Hasegawa completed kits here. ahh heeemmmmmm http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=34904&hl=&fromsearch=1 Quote

Benjo Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Come on guys! its hasegawa! They'll re-release the same 1/48 kit for the next 50 years only with different decal options. For some reason they never make new things.... Imagine a 1/48 VF-25?? we will just keep on dreaming Quote
Jefuemon Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 Imagine a 1/48 VF-25?? we will just keep on dreaming My imagination is more running (and hoping/dreaming/praying) that either Hasegawa or Wave will get the rights to produce 1/72 Messiahs, to save us from those horrible Bandai creations. I wouldn't be surprised by 1/72 VF-4, and more 1/48 VF-1 stuff. My imagination is more running (and hoping/dreaming/praying) that either Hasegawa or Wave will get the rights to produce 1/72 Messiahs, to save us from those horrible Bandai creations. Forgive me cause I'm not in the know, but whats wrong with the Bandai 1/72? Not trying to start up a flame war or anything, just seeking knowledge. And yes 1/48 VF-25's would be totally freakin awesome. Quote
PetarB Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 The first probelm is that too many compromises have been made so that it is transformable. For example, there are huge gaps once it's assembled in fighter mode. And some of those issues make it difficult to do a good job painting it. The second issue is that it seems out of scale - just put the pilot next to any other 1/72 pilot and you'll see the pilot at least is closer to 1/90 which makes me feel that rest is a little too small. Finally, while most of the detail is excellent, there are some real showstoppers, for example the landing gear looks like it's come off a kid's toy. Having said this, the Bandai 1/72 Valkyries are still excellent models. They just need an enormous amount of work to make them look better than just built out of the box, but I think that was the market they were going for. Hasegawa's market is completely different. Quote
ahiachris Posted December 12, 2011 Posted December 12, 2011 PetarB, Are you still going to make the up to scale pilots for the Messiahs? Indeed, different companies have different market. The kits release by Hasegawa are mostly more realistic and the kits release by Bandai are more toy like. For example, the coming F15E strike eagle to be release by Fujimi will be a snap fit kit. Most kits needs a lot of work to make them look good that's why there're more and more small companies that releases update kits. Quote
peter Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 ahh heeemmmmmm http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=34904&hl=&fromsearch=1 Yes, that is defintely a nice build, but I wish there were more! I lurk around the model thread and there really aren't that many builds Quote

mechaninac Posted December 18, 2011 Posted December 18, 2011 I presume you’re referring to the pilot’s scale; otherwise the rest of the toy is right in both 1/72 and 1/60 scales… This! Pilot size is almost never indicative of the actual scale of a Mecha model or toy; they often tend to be woefully under sized. Quote
