nightmareB4macross Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 100 bucks does seem kinda steep. Yamato could end up producting it for about the same price, in 1/60, as a finished toy, (with accessories) too boot. I hope this kit does really well... Quote

I hope this kit does really well... I have to agree with you: this kit looks great but USD104 before shipping... I for once can say that Yamato has fairer prices than their competitors Quote
Jefuemon Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Wonder why the Phalanx is close to ¥3000 more than the Defender or Tomahawk, since it looks like they're essentially the same kits. (from the waist down, at least) Quote
Wasabi-san Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Maybe they're raising the price higher, because they think they won't sell as many, and have to make up the production tooling costs? Being a completest on some things, I'll still have to get the prerequisite two kits, one to build, and one "MISB", because you just can't give the destroids enough love. Quote
pfunk Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Yeah I do agree the price point should be that of the other destroids Quote
ron5864 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 It's selling for 7,040Yen as an Early Bird item on HLJ. http://www.hlj.com/product/wavmc-73 Quote
Wasabi-san Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 @ron5864 Bugger! You beat me to the punch. I just ordered two of them this morning. Happy days. Spartan next perhaps? Quote
ron5864 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 @ron5864 Bugger! You beat me to the punch. Haha...but I didn't order one yet. Hope the price goes down to 5,000 yen or less when they have another sale. 7000+ yen is a bit rich for my taste right now. Quote
PetarB Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Yep, the price is a little crazy on this one. I notice that the Defender is on sale at HLJ for 30% off. Nice discount if you're interested! Quote

miriya Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Wave is making some great models. I am bummed that they are so expensive though. Quote
Wasabi-san Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 The price is a little high, but with the attention to detail, the fit and finish with little seam work, the tough-looking proportions (destroids), and the interchangeability of the valk parts, I think they're among the best kits available. Hopefully they'll do some enemy mecha next...both Macross and Mospeada. Quote
miriya Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 I would gush like a fairy schoolgirl in heat if Wave produced an updated version of the Quel-Quallie. Quote
Grayson72 Posted May 24, 2012 Posted May 24, 2012 Here's a Monster to go with the Phalanx: http://www.rinkya.co...ction-w67225413 . I've got two versions of the 1/72 Monster kit, one from wonderfest and one from Mr. Salzo. Quote
GMANIFESS Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Slighty O.T... Does anyone know how tall the 1/72 VF-25 kits are in battroid? Quote
Major Tom Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 It's finally arrived http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10186783 Quote
PetarB Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 That artwork is awesome. I've never really been a fan of the design, but I'll have to get one now! Quote
Wasabi-san Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 (edited) HLJ is shipping them out now. Two are in the BIIIG box of all the other Macross re-releases coming. Gonna hide these away for a while. EDIT: Update: HLJ is already at a "Backordered" status on the Phalanx...in only two days. OT: Has anyone ever sold a resin accessory set for each battlepod version? I've only seen the base pod in 1:72. Edited August 31, 2012 by Wasabi-san Quote
