Oihan Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I don't know if this is the right place for this but I noticed that a member was banned from the message board. I was reading over a thread that he was posting in and I don't see how his posts violate any of the rules. If anything, all I saw him do was dogmatically stick to his beliefs; not trolling. I bring this up because there have been times where I have been dogmatic in my stances towards various topics. ...For that matter, I've seen others and continue to see others do the same thing on this board with various topics. I don't suppose the MW staff can go into details as to why the member was banned...but would it be possible to get a little insight as to what the real issue was? Thanks, -Oyan
Roy Focker Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Without knowing who you are talking about I can only provide general information. Some Members are repeat offenders. The last offense may not have been their worst but when combined with others. Dogmatically stick to one's beliefs may show that they aren't going to be reasoned with. Often this beliefs are really off topic. In the past we had some very passionate members who would jump at the chance to defend their beliefs. We sometimes have to decide who we think can act mature enough show some self control and who will refuse to be silenced. They may have be warned during the current offense and ignored it. When you really have to get that last word in don't be surprized when someone is punished for it.
David Hingtgen Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 Especially that last point. If a mod (or two) says stop---STOP.
