CrazyDude Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 (edited) One for the old foggies here. Bit down I got pressured to attend a wedding next weekend in Osaka by my gf's family. Grrrr. Hate them travel plus hotel and 30,000+yen for the couple and a boring time and formalities in return. Edited March 1, 2014 by CrazyDude Quote
Jefuemon Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 From the last show I went to You can't see me, but I know pretty much everyone in the front row. I was more in the back, watching with Miki from Galmet next to me, and Ama from Galmet headbanging in front of me. Quote
antibiotictab Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Towa Tei (テイ・トウワ, 鄭東和). A Japan-born Korean musician. He doesn't allow to be called Chon Dongwha. I have no idea if he speaks Korean or not. Debuted as a member of Deee-Lite. I still love this song, "Luv Connection." http://youtu.be/sUQfHKu8gqk Quote
antibiotictab Posted March 1, 2014 Posted March 1, 2014 Pat Metheny is nice. i've seen Mike Stern and Dennis chambers play i couple of times live, once with bassist Lincoln Goines and another with Victor Wooten in a NYC jazz club by NYU. i've seen Eric Johnson's play there as well. I want to listen to those musician's play some day. May be held at Blue Note Tokyo. My younger brother has a bass and recommended Wooten to me before. Fortunately, I went to the live concert of Gadd Gang in 1986 at Roppongi Pit in. RIP Richard Tee and Eric Gale.... Quote

In that legendary Central Park Concert, they supported Simon and Garfancle, too. IIRC, this play made Gadd so famous. "Aja." I like "My Sweetness." This tune is famous in my country as the theme song of the radio music program "軽音楽をあなたに"(Keiongaku wo Anatani). Quote

antibiotictab Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 i'll jump in with some music: this reminds me to stay the course when i'm down... Just a coincidence, but I posted that Chaka's song and "Always" on my FB page 2 days ago. Well, another "Always" it was at the time. Don't worry I don't do shakubuku. That is the point. If you didn't want to hear a mountain of curse words from me, you better not do that sh*t. My senpai forced me to belong to it when I was a high school student. Even though it was/ is not allowed for the U-20 people. Still can't understand it. So disgusting. Quote

Well, another "Always" it was at the time. that's crazy... btw, when you mentioned your brother plays bass and recommended Wooten, i was thinking of a guy named Nobu that was in the same grad school in Massachusetts. he played bass as a professional in Japan before going deciding to enter that grad program. i took him and his wife to see wooten w/ mike stern in NYC, afterwards he showed us some of wootens licks on my friends bass. he's was the best musician on campus. Guest davidwhangchoi Posted March 3, 2014 Posted March 3, 2014 Berklee? i wish my school was a small school in Hamilton (not music related) but i would hang with a few people from Berklee. These guys are from Berklee except the bass player who graduated from MIT. he was the audio engineer of the band as well. i used to play w/ the bass player from this band on the weekends for a church with a lot of MIT grads.
