GU-11 Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Liking what I see so far. Then again, ROTF has dropped my standards for TF movies so low that if AoE turns out to be somewhere along the lines of Armageddon or The Rock, I'll consider it a masterpiece. Wahlberg's a definite improvement over Shia. Quote
skullmilitia Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Woah woah woah.. Anyone is better than Shia. Honestly I'm surprised Wahlburg bothered to be in this in the first place. I mean has he seen the others? Has anyone from all three TF movies gone on To do more movies besides Tyrese? I think Transformers is as big of a career killer as Star Wars. Tyrese is the poor mans Ford, Quote

Tyrese is the poor mans Ford, WUT??? There is hardly (read no) a comparison between Tyrese Gibson and Harrison Ford. I don't have an issue with Mr. Gibson but Harrison's acting talent level is so far above Tyrese's it's not even funny. Re: TF being a career killer, one could say Star Trek, Star Wars and just about any Sci-Fi franchise has the same effect. Hollywood loves to type-cast, look at Liam Neeson as a perfect example. I'm still riding high from the anticipation of Optimus riding Grimlock. That alone will be worth the cost of my ticket. -b. Quote
Vepariga Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 or maybe Mark thought he can make a difference with the TF franchise and make it better. Quote

TangledThorns Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 This may be the best Transformers to date but I suspect it'll be Michael Bay's last as the franchise desperately needs needs a reboot. Quote
skullmilitia Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 It's not getting a reboot, in fact it's already been stated it's a three part story starting with AOE. Bay has just said he's leaving the two for another director. Which IMO is dumb, a trilogy should be done together or prepare for crap. Quote
Dynaman Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Which IMO is dumb, a trilogy should be done together or prepare for crap. Considering this is Transformers is anyone expecting anything but crap? Quote
Major Tom Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 (edited) New trailer looks good. I hope it's not a let down Edited March 6, 2014 by Major Tom Quote
Phyrox Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Bay has just said he's leaving the two for another director. Which IMO is dumb, a trilogy should be done together or prepare for crap. 1) Bay's track record so far I think indicates this is a good idea 2) Star Wars trilogy all directed by different people 3) If you aren't already prepared for crap, you should be Quote
skullmilitia Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Star Wars was different, it was it's own Beast, with no other story's involved giving every Director is own stylized version of a paper story. Transformers are already plastered in time, in cartoons, comics, and now Movies. Plus, when Bay leaves so does his cinematographer and AD and ect. Changing the cinematographer changes the whole look of the film. I like the Film style of Bay's cine'. I'm just imagining some new Director who's more interested in making love story's and skimmping on CGI for realism. or worse, Stephen Sommers, Rob Cohen, Paul W.S. Anderson... yikes. Quote
anime52k8 Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 I thought everyone hatted transformers cinematography because you couldn't tell what the frakk is happening 99 percent of the time. Quote
skullmilitia Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 That's not the cine's job, cine's job is atmosphere and lighting. The director is responsible for the camera movement and what's in the shot. Quote
Chewie Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 (edited) There are a bunch of pictures of the characters over on Comingsoon.net that just went up. Possible spoilers I think. http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=117066#/slide/1 Edited April 11, 2014 by Chewie Quote
anime52k8 Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 (edited) I actually like the look of the movie dinobots (based on there toys anyways). Edited April 11, 2014 by anime52k8 Quote
Kelsain Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 They don't bad as standalone robots. But there's literally nothing of the alt mode in there. And why does a robot need a trench coat? Quote
mikeszekely Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Disclaimer... I'm going to watch the movie. My brain will shut off, and I'll enjoy two hours of CGI robots beating each other up and explosions and Optimus Prime riding a dinosaur. I'll do this because I'm a sucker for Transformers. That said, man, I didn't think it was possible for me to hate the Bayformers aesthetic more, but boy are AoE designs awful. Quote
Vepariga Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Stinger and Bee are just like colour palette swaps Quote
big F Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Stinger and Bee are just like colour palette swaps Well at least the films are now doing what Hasbro did in the 80's Quote

That said, man, I didn't think it was possible for me to hate the Bayformers aesthetic more, but boy are AoE designs awful. This (well most of that anyway). I actually kind of like the movie designs from the first three movies, Prime, Bumblebee and Sideswipe chief among them, but I'm not really keen on some of the Samurai-esq designs from AoE. And I want a t-shirt of Prime riding Grimlock. The end. -b. Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 ^YES! I cannot be the only nerd, err, sorry, movie fan out there that wants, or has something like this. -b. Quote
CoryHolmes Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 No. No, you most certainly are not. I also want Slug to bash open a door, stomp in, look down at what the door fell on, and say "Excuse me." Quote
big F Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I also want Slug to bash open a door, stomp in, look down at what the door fell on, and say "Excuse me." Oh yes There has got to be some sort of homage to the Animated film, after-all this is the first time the Dinobots have been on the big screen since 86. There were a few nods in previous films so I'm hoping there are going to be more, when it comes to our favorite pre-historic wrecking team. Quote
Twoducks Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 There goes kid friendly transformation out the window . I actually like it. The blue shoulders need to be red or the arms look too skinny but looks fun. Quote
areaseven Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Significantly better than the First Edition figure, but still not worth the asking price. Quote
taksraven Posted May 16, 2014 Author Posted May 16, 2014 Hmmm. I wonder if the dinosaur character in the movie will be "Grimlock" or "Dinobot". What I would give for a Beast Wars movie. (not done by Michael Bay) Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Well, as usual the visuals look like fun. Just hope that there aren't too many cringe-worthy moments with the script/dialogue. -b. Quote
aerocombatpilot Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Just hope that there aren't too many cringe-worthy moments with the script/dialogue. -b. Well there's: No Sam, No annoying parents, no humping dogs, and no Autobots with gold teeth. I'm kinda hopeful here. Quote
