Renato Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 So Optimus Prime is basically Wheelie now. Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 All arguments over everything have been rendered moot. EXACTLY! Logic and sensibility be damned - I will love this movie only for the fact that Optimus is riding Grimlock, hell I'm laughing even as I type this. -b. Quote
anime52k8 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Many? Silver-grey Swoop, Silver-grey Grimlock, Silver-Grey Galva-Magnus-Motormaster-Tron, Dark silver-Grey Lockdown... One bright green 'bot doesn't counteract all the other new ones being "more of the same". But swoop and grimlock have always been predominantly silver-grey. Anyways, I have no god damn clue what I just watched. How can anyone even tell who the frakk anything is in that trailer besides Grimlock and Optimus Prime? That said, I can dig dragon-pony Grimlock. I have a feeling we will continue to not get a decent Grimlock toy out of this iteration of the character just like the last two iterations of the characters we've seen, and that makes me sad Quote
areaseven Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 As crappy as the toys will be, this movie is guaran-damn-teed to be better than ROTF and DOTM. Just for Grimlock alone. Quote
Scyla Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) So we saw all the awesome stuff in the trailer and the rest of the film we watch Marky Mark trying to fix his relationship with his alienated ex wife and his two estranged children and in the end it turns out they where divorced... ...because he was a serial rapist friend.... ....a serial robot rapist friend... ...of robots! OT: The trailer looks really washed out. Not really interested. Might check it out if the reviews are as negative as for the other three movies. [edit:] Self-censorship because of harsh language. Edited February 3, 2014 by Scyla Quote
Twoducks Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Looks like Optimus gets kidnapped or something at the start and the rest go save him aaaaaaaaaaand who gives a frakk. Looks like all the others, which by now is very borring. Only part worth a crap are the gigantic dinobots. Hope they aren't just there for the climax. At least there was no Bay military porn. Quote
GU-11 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 At least there was no Bay military porn. Hopefully there won't be any in the actual movie either. I've had it with the almighty airstrikes. To be fair, the military presence wasn't nearly as bad in DOTM, compared to ROTF, Quote
skullmilitia Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I think the story from gathered interviews is basically, new Decepticons come in, Optimus goes rouge, runs of to find the weapons of Primus, finds the Dinobots, brings them back to defeat the evil Ultra Magnus LOL as Unicron Arrives, Optimus leaves earth for Cybertron/Primus. Then just filler of crappy human drama. Quote
Dangard Ace Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Since it looks like BB is fighting the two headed dragon I'm going to call it as not swoop but RiD Megatron/Galvatron. Quote
Einherjar Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) From 2010. Then just filler of crappy human drama. Probably taking up a huge chunk of the movie, too. Edited February 3, 2014 by Einherjar Quote
derex3592 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 As a child of the 80's and a HUGE Transformers fan as a kid, the Dinobots were always my LEAST favorite part of the cartoon. Never liked them. But, like everybody else, I'll probably end up seeing this one just like I watched all the rest. Quote
DuelGundam2099 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I will definitely be giving this a watch! Quote
big F Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 As long as Grimlock and his gang smash the crap outa everything including the as yet unstoppable Errrffffth military with their low tech pew pew guns and tiny non transforming tanks. I'll be happy Quote
skullmilitia Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 (edited) I think we can all agree that, if nothing else.. Grimlock should be indestructible. I'm also kinda feeling he doesn't Transform. The Robot mode would be redic huge, like Omega Supreme huge. Edited February 3, 2014 by skullmilitia Quote
Twoducks Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 That is one thing I want to know: do they transform or not? Like skullmilitia says, they would be freaking huge. At least in toy form they look like they transform if this pic of a possible Swoop toy is real: http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MzEyWDUwMg==/z/RmwAAOxyOMdS6-K5/$_57.JPG?set_id=2 Notice that it has two heads like that thing coming for BB and the toy has autobot logos. But a robot form for the toy doesn't mean Bay will transform them in the movie... Quote
captain america Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 If I recall, there were some poor quality black-and-white images of what were allegedly robot modes for the Dinobot toys a while back. I suspect that they will transform. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 But a robot form for the toy doesn't mean Bay will transform them in the movie... Reverse is also true---we never saw an alt-mode on-screen for Shockwave. Quote

Kanedas Bike Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 (edited) The good folks over at TFW2005 put together a bunch of hi-res screenshots from the Super Bowl trailer. For you know, those who might actually be interested in seeing (vs. just ragging on) the movie ; http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/transformers-movie-just-movie-31/transformers-age-of-extinction-teaser-detailed-hd-images-179224/ Enjoy! -b. *edit added the link w even MORE pictures for people to enjoy (or hate on) Edited February 4, 2014 by Kanedas Bike Quote
CrazyDude Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 It is a Bay movie, enough reason to skip it. Quote
skullmilitia Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Lol, forget a designated Driver, Optimus drives himself. What a sorry piece of crap. I hope Takara does some decent molds. Quote
Scyla Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 (edited) Just watched a video review for this toy and I have to see it is terrible. It has some nice stuff going for like the chromed parts, some of the molded parts or the rubber tires. BUT since it is basically a shell former and only the front wheels are part of the robot mode it is terrible hollow and it shows. From the video I got the feeling that this toy handles like a cheap knock-off because the plastic is so thin and the toy is so light. However I still hope it sells well so HasTak has enough play money to develop new Classics style figures and continue with the Masterpiece line but this toy is not for me. [edit:] On a second thought I think the problem lies in the movie designs of the Transformers. Optimus Prime transforms somehow into his bot mode without any logic behind (other then a Valkyrie) but with many moving parts. This lends itself very well for complex toys like RotF Leader Prime but not for toys aimed at small kids. Edited February 4, 2014 by Scyla Quote
areaseven Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 So... Hasbro spent more money on the box design than engineering the toy itself. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Really, the one place it needs chrome most of all, are the stacks. And they don't even get silver PAINT, much less chrome. And doing the bumper that way just looks weird. "Please ignore that mis-matched outer half-inch on each side". Quote
skullmilitia Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Hasbro thinks it is 1993 all over again. Quote

Vepariga Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 (edited) here we go again. but i will shamelessly watch it because it sounds good on the cinema speakers. I kinda like it. It's got a Professor X vibe going. hahahhaha Edited February 5, 2014 by Vepariga Quote
big F Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 What ever happens in the movie it looks like Optimus gets a fair amount of bashing. WTF is that massive thing hovering above the Rural setting in picture1? Quote
Sandman Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I haven't been paying attention to the 4th movie news. Are they seriously making Ultra Magnus the villain? Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I haven't been paying attention to the 4th movie news. Are they seriously making Ultra Magnus the villain? Dunno, but my most vivid memories of Ultra Magnus are from Transformers: The Movie. To me he was such a jerk/ineffective leader in that one he was damn near a bad guy anyway. But seriously, I hope not and that it's just fan speculation or misinformation from Bay, otherwise...well, shrugs. -b. Quote
skullmilitia Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I believe the Magnus being a deceticreep was from a leaked press release a few weeks back. Magnus and Lockdown are the main villains, and it all transfers to the unveiling of Unicron. Quote
peter Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Well, like the last two movies, I think I will stream this one. I didn't even finish watching the 3rd film, much less bother to download the torrent. Wasn't Magnus sort of made out to be a badguy in the dreamweave comics and then he sort of came to his senses near the end? Quote
David Hingtgen Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 So he's got a mouth over his mouthplate? Quote
Sandman Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 So he's got a mouth over his mouthplate? Which has another mouth underneath the mouthplate. Quote
