The conversation seems to have gone off course. Preference on vf-1 toys doesn't mean much for the vf-25 since you will now have two options, neither of which are yamato made. Sure, you have much smaller options in the vf100 an robot spirits lines but comparing those to the dx offerings is like expecting the 1/100 hi metal vf toys to be better than the 1/60 toys in every way. The new vf-25 looks very good but the design looks very similar to yf-29 so if you're deathly afraid of loose joints and not willing to tighten them up should they occur then you might wantto steer clear and wAit for the abundance od reviews that will come out. If you miss out on msrp priced toys you might be lucky and pick up a bundle release down the road.

Unless bandai do a version 3 to piss people off. Then people who complained can say "I'm glad I never bought a version 2". :D

Is there a definitive way, or ways close to it, for tightening the joints? Loose joints are what I'm afraid of.

you just have to take it apart and coat the joint in something to thicken it up but to also keep the metal from grinding against metal.

You speak as if there was a shortage of that particular opinion on these forums last year....

When I think of the himetal I think of how this is what yamato could have done when they had the macross zero license since the transformation of the vf-0 is less complex than a vf-1 and the smaller size and cheaper price (at 1/100 scale) means they could probably do ALL the valks. Originally before we got 1/60 vf-0 toys they were going to do part swapping 1/100. Now with bandai himetal I often wonder if yamato could re-release vf-0 toys but instead of part swapping at 1/100, see if they can pull off 1/100 perfect transformation vf-0 toys instead. Not only would it be more affordable (smaller and cheaper, smaller shipping boxes) but it would probably be more "posable and fun" as a little action figure.

Now you could argue that 1/100 is too small to make complex transforming toys but the vf-0 is larger than vf-1, AND less complex in transformation. So if yamato wanted to do ALL the vf-0 variants (face it we are not getting the reactive armor or vf-0D) cheap, they could borrow everything that bandai has achieved on 1/100 vf-1 and just make VF-0

with the advantage that vf-0 is larger than a vf-1 so it wouldn't be harder than making vf-1 at 1/100.

Don't worry about sv-51 at 1/100. Just do all vf-0 at 1/100. Have the ghost booster and reactive armor and all the variants of the vf-0 in this line. They could do that while waiting for a chance to do their own vf-25 10 years from now haha

I myself wouldn't mind to have more VFs available but it seems the 1/60 scale is the way to go, Bandai or Yamato.

The fact that all 1/100 lines had stopped (VF100:VF-25,VF-Hi Metal:VF-1A-web exclusive, YF-19,YF-21 never mentioned again, even non transformable Robot Tamashi and GN-U Dou had stopped),seems to suggest that 1/60 is more effective in bussiness term, and more appealing in the final product, that's why Bandai make a renew 1/60 VF-25, not in any other scale.

I also wonder if 1/100 would cost less to manufacture as the only different is the amount of material used while product development, man-power to assemble and marketing cost would be the same.

I completely agree. Just to add my two pence, it’s been said that in this kind of toys the materials cost is proportionately low, making a 1/100 line less profitable if it’s not massively sold.

Now that's how a VF-25 should look like!!!

Bandai nailed down the look of this valk design (loose balljoints aside).

This would be my first M-Frontier Mecha purchase, and probably the only one

It was reported that the team (is it call Flex or something?)that Yamato work with to develop their VFs were involved in this one.

This is not the first time, actually.

Sweet! When does it come out and when does the pre orders start??

I don't know about the pre orders, the estimated release date is January 2012.

That looks awesome. Doesn't look like they reverted back to using pvc for the head guns like they did with the YF-29 and the visor parts look clear now instead of merely being painted. Tempted to get this release, but it seems pretty much inevitable that they will release a full armor version.

Damn it! I think the same thing, or this being Bandai, they will release the super and full armor parts as web exclusives! Wasn't planing on getting anymore after Alto's but that looks sooooo awesome! Wish we could know how later releases will come so we could plan ahead......yeah I know that will never happen! Lol!

Does it look to anyone else that the Ozma pilot figure looks even better painted and detailed than the Alto that came with the YF-29? I'm not at home to check, but it just seems that way to me from looking at the picture.

Is Bandai gonna release it w/o armor then a few months later w/ armor like they did with the v1.0's?

I really don't wanna double dip here.

Yeah, but the canopy is purple and the eyes on the skull are a millimeter too far apart!!!!

All jokes aside, looks great and I'll have my pre-order in as soon as it opens.

Pre-orders closed a while ago. You'll have to wait 3 weeks for the mass release.

Besides, BBTS.com, Anime-export has them still I think (though I think you have to pay up front for preorders).
