I hope it's cool if I post this here- I'm the creator of Tako Salad, a webcomic about being a fan of stuff and the hijinks that ensue from that fandom. I'm pretty much devoting every post from my last two up until Macross World in Torrance to Macross-related strips.

Here are the two I have so far and I hope they can at least get a chuckle out of you! If I shouldn't post these here just let me know and I won't, no problem.

Hope you don't mind if I throw my doujinshi up here. It's a short start for a series, but I hope you all like it! It can be read at either deviantart or tumblr.

Cool VFTF1 - will check it out.

This is an obscure question, but I'm working on my own story and I need some battle suit names.

I like a Brawler type, and Buster type - are these over-used? I found some things by Googling but I thought I would run it by the MW authors on here . . .

Hmm... For the brawler type: Boxer, Roundhouse, Morningstar, Flail, Aegis

Buster type: Abrams, Sherman, Blockbuster, Claymore, Calibur

Just some ideas off the top of my head.

Thanks FM for responding.

I have 2 types of variable hero mecha, or exo-suits in my Zero-G story.

Was thinking B-Type for the smaller one, with Brawler Mode and Bike Mode.

Then I like your idea about 'Caliber' - so how about a C-Type with Caliber Mode and Car Mode?

This is the first time I've showed the working designs to anyone . . .

Just a head's up: I used Calibur, as in Excalibur. I was trying to come up with cool names for swords, since it would be an offensive-type of vehicle. Caliber would be, of course, the measurement of a gun barrel. Scimitar might also be a good name to use.

Holy crap! That is some really good mechanical design! Wow!

I can see some influence from Kunio Okawara's Votoms work (like your avatar), some Kazumi Fujita and Koichi Ohata too. I really like what you've done here. Naturally, I'm very curious about the colors :)

The main influence is Lonely Soldier Boy on this forum - he did the mechanical designs for me on commission.

I played 'art director' and take a little of the credit. I can do design - but not mechanical, especially something that needs to transform and make sense.

But I am the color guy, working on those schemes now . . .

Oh, my apologies. Well, graphic design and presentation is good. Lonely Soldier Boy did amazing mechanical design work. I'm very much looking forward to your coloring of the designs.

I would buy these toys.

Just sayin'.

It's been like a zillion years since I've visited the MW forums - but in any event:

My fanfiction is still going strong - all the issues (up to the current #36 of Pete's Super Robots) are here:

Just note that it's 10K words per chapter.

I got reviews/private comments that it's best to limit to 5-6K words. Otherwise, the story is good.
