danth Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 I've seen a crap-ton of Macross line art, but I'd never come across this until today. I figured it'd be worth posting here. (I didn't see a dedicated line art thread.) Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 One of the members on these very boards actually has this posted on his/her gallery. Quote
Renato Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Cool, I'd like to see the rest of the book! Thanks, Danth! Quote
Moly_Sigang Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 wow, looks like a mega koenig godzilla. It looks more like Mecha King Ghidora with no wings. Anyway, can the SDF-1 actually maintain in Gerwalk mode? Also, we know that the Macross need to transform in order to connect the power generator to the main cannon. Is this form suffice for the Macross to fire the main cannon? Quote
s001 Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 It's just a joke. Like Kawamori's little bird valks. Remember? Quote
Talos Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 It's just a joke. Like Kawamori's little bird valks. Remember? Definitely is. Reminds me a little too-much of the Monster's configuration to be anything but a joke anyway. Quote
anime52k8 Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 It's just a joke. Like Kawamori's little bird valks. Remember? Wait, so you're saying this ISN'T how Valks are made in the show. Quote
valhary Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 the drawing dont look like a joke to me I belive was a proposal rejected for the macross project Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I think it's pretty neat. And, if you look inside the "Macross Perfect Memory", the publishing is riddled with little gems such as these. Plus the old Takatoku can do this as well. Quote

Rbstr Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 (edited) The model can do it because it's got feet on a swivel type thing. The animated version's engines don't do that, it can only stand when the legs are strait. The Quarter can sort of do it in space...I suppose the original could too. Edited June 8, 2011 by Rbstr Quote
akim Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 Funny to see again this pic. One day, if i could, i'll try to find again my doujin and search for comments or legend about this artwork... original link: artwork SDF Quote
Renato Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 the drawing dont look like a joke to me I belive was a proposal rejected for the macross project I saw another doujinshi once where Kazutaka Miyatake had drawn Misa and Claudia tied up naked proper bondage-style. I think they were being raped by the Macross, too. Maybe that was also a rejected proposal. Quote

I think we all would need to inspect it more closely before we came to a final decision, though. Quote
Chronocidal Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Possibly so. I think we all would need to inspect it more closely before we came to a final decision, though. My inner 12 year old just began snickering loudly. He was promptly complemented by my inner 17 year old for catching the joke. Then they were both sent to their rooms so the 23 year old in me could conduct said inspection properly. Quote

Kelsain Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 If this sketch was part of the preproduction for the series, one wonders if it was the inspiration for the Monster. Quote
