kajnrig Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 There were some small scale model kits of the AT-ST plus snow speeder... maybe that? I forget if they're metal or not. Quote
Graham Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 I seem to remember at the time the PG Millenium Falcon was announced, Bandai also made an announcement about die-cast vehicles, but nothing was shown. Quote
kajnrig Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 Hm... a cursory google turns up nothing, but this was what I was talking about. I seem to remember seeing them in diecast too. Maybe chrome plating? I dunno. https://www.amazon.com/Bandai-Vehicle-Height-Speeder-Plastic/dp/B06XCBMGY5 Quote
tekering Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 "New, from Kenner's Star Wars: The Last Jedi toy line, it's the Crait Resistance Base playset!" "Featuring a retractable shield door..." "Working elevators for transporting personnel to the Ski Speeder hangar..." "...and an emergency exit through the crystal foxhole." "Desperate to defend the base from the First Order, General Leia confers with her Resistance fighters." "At the last minute, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker arrives to save the day!" "Action figures sold separately." Looks like something the old guard at Kenner might've produced back in the day, eh? Quote
Sildani Posted December 27, 2017 Posted December 27, 2017 And for that, it’s awesome. No included crystal fox tho? Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted December 29, 2017 Author Posted December 29, 2017 Guys & Gals did you watch the Netflix four episodes documentary The Toys That Made Us, especially part 1 about SW. Quote
sh9000 Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Cool setup. I’ve noticed in person that the 3.75” figures look a little smaller than older releases. I bet they can be customized and fit better in 1/18 cars. I’ve heard The Toys That Made Us show is good. I need to check it out. Quote

Sometimes significantly smaller, sometimes substantially larger, depending on the character: More scale-accurate, basically. 11 hours ago, sh9000 said: I bet they can be customized and fit better in 1/18 cars. Sure, if they're properly articulated. Unfortunately, most of the sequel trilogy figures are very poorly articulated. 11 hours ago, sh9000 said: I’ve heard The Toys That Made Us show is good. I especially liked seeing the original wooden patterns for the Kenner Falcon: The photo collages they put together representing different eras are fun, too. Although hardly accurate... Isn't that a Yamato v.2 Valkyrie? Quote
Chronocidal Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Looks like a 1/48, judging by the long nose, kneecaps, and slightly open speed brake. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 Sorry if this was brought up before, but it's bugged me since like, trailer #1 of episode 7------and Bandai seems to be the first to "fix" it-----the markings on the new X-Wings. They were ALL "Blue 3". Except for Black Leader, which was marked as "Black 3" (or maybe Orange 3?) Anyways----the new Bandai 3-pack (MF, and black and blue X-wings) comes with 'proper' squadron markings for the X-wings, have a look: They actually paid more attention than the movie CG artists etc. Disappointingly, their new Ep 8 version of the X-Wing kit, despite having several new parts than the Ep 7 release---doesn't include any more markings for the wings. Quote
Dobber Posted December 31, 2017 Posted December 31, 2017 Cool! That’s how I marked my 4 T-70’s I built 2 years ago. I also made the blue markings on the bridge of the nose to match as well. They actually can correspond. Blue Leader Blue 2 Blue 3 Blue 5 Quote

Chronocidal Posted February 18, 2018 Posted February 18, 2018 (edited) YESSS! Day is officially made. I'm going to have to get at least three.. maybe more. I bumped up my 1/72 X-Wing total to four, once they released the Red Leader version with the solid nose stripe (and the 1/144 mini version). I might have to start grabbing more of each type. I do hope they're still going to continue with the Death Star baseplates for the stands though, the new X-Wing kit just used a generic black base (probably because it was marked more as a Rogue One product). Now we're down to the just the Tie Bomber for OT ships right? I think my only real lament now about the 1/72 lineup is that I still want a true 1/72 A-Wing.. between the huge pilot, and screen comparisons, the A-Wing is much closer to 1/48, and matches the electronic X-Wing's scale. Edited February 18, 2018 by Chronocidal Quote
mechaninac Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 for the B-Wing. As for what's left from the OT: 1/72 TIE Bomber, 1/72 and/or 1/144 Lambda class shuttle Tiderium, and maybe Rogue One's (It's in the time frame) 1/144 AT-ACT and Krennic's command shuttle in 1/72 and/or 1/144 and a 1/144 Zeta class cargo shuttle and a 1/12 assault tank commander, and I'd love to see them delve into the capital ships... 1/350 or 1/700 or 1/1000 Blockade Runner, 1/700 or 1/1000 Nebulon class frigate, etc. Quote
Chronocidal Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Oh yikes, I forgot the shuttle entirely.. it's even been on my mind a ton lately due to remodeling my UCS Lego one. Would love to see that in 1/144.. 1/72 might be doable, but I think that's the rough scale of the old MPC kit, and it was a bit of a beast. It wouldn't be anything on the level of the PG Falcon probably, but still a huge and expensive kit. I'd love to see some of the larger capital ships done well finally, even the mid-ranged ones. The only thing remotely comparable I've seen thus far are the X-Wing tabletop miniatures. I think they're around 1/250? That's a little big for some things, but the Blockade Runner is really nice in that size, a little over a foot long, and easily displayable. Quote
Dobber Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 Excited too, but unfortunately nothing official about a release. Hopefully this will not be another Star Destroyer, motorized AT-AT, large R2, and 1/12 Vader TIE situation. Chris Quote
Kelsain Posted February 19, 2018 Posted February 19, 2018 So, I just heard that Toy Fair is going on, so I did a quick Google. Looks like the next wave of Black Series figs is gonna have a lot of cool stuff. http://news.toyark.com/2018/02/17/toy-fair-2018-hasbro-star-wars-black-series-288541 I've been holding out for an ESB Leia to add to the lineup of awesome rebel ladies. She looks more like 1990's Carrie Fisher though, rather than 1980. But better that the ANH version. But dang, we've got Wolfe, Zuckuss, 4-LOM, Tarkin, Porgs... Although, something tells me Holdo's not going to be flying off the shelves. Just a hunch. Quote

Graham Posted February 20, 2018 Posted February 20, 2018 The Black Series 6" Wolfe and Rex look awesome, definitely getting them. My son and I are both huge Clone Wars, Clone Trooper fans. My only complaint is I wish they had made the faces more faithful to the cartoon, rather than going with the face of the actor from the prequel movies. Also, gonna be buying the Black Series Porg pack and the Black Series 6" Gamorrean Guard figure I can't imagine the Black Series 6" Vice Admiral Holdo figure selling well, or at all. That's a definite shelf warmer in the making. Quote

I've asked this sort of question about every single design since the new trilogy began. Also, for the record, I'd take literally any non-Star Wars design by LEGO in the past 20 years over anything on that page. Yes, that includes Bionicle, Ninjago, heck even the Spongebob rocket set at least looked more functional as a vehicle than those piles of wasted plastic. I think every new design from Star Wars since the new trilogy started has failed on both an aesthetic and a marketing level. They're butt ugly to the point that no one's going to want to buy the toys, let alone models of them. Wake me up when we get box art for B-wing and Tie Bomber kits. Side note: I would love to slap every dipwad designer at Revell upside the head for making such idiotic kits.. what sort of braindead lump of flesh designs a "build and play" kit of what amounts to a car, and then forgets to give it wheels to make it actually... you know.. roll? Where's the "play" function of a car that doesn't have any moving parts? Same thing applies to those "patrol speeders," but at least Han's car actually looks something like a vehicle, as opposed to someone straddling a cubicle wall with handlebars.
