Black Valkyrie Posted June 2, 2011 Author Posted June 2, 2011 Well a few days ago I've received my order, that contains Vintage Luke Empire & Jedi, Sidious, 2 Clone Commanders from Episode III and Clone Pilot Goji. Luke Jedi is the best from all of them, as for Luke Empire its torso joint doesn't hold, always comes off . Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted June 7, 2011 Author Posted June 7, 2011 Imagine if this was the ending in SW-E6 ROTJ, Quote
Mog Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Hmm, the head on your DSII Luke actually looks fairly decent. The original one on mine looked a lot worse (too wide looking), so I did the following headswap: It was a massive improvement. Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted June 11, 2011 Author Posted June 11, 2011 Don't wanna make a new thread for this, since its also a Lucas franchise, http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/First_Look_At_SDCCExclusive_Indiana_Jones_Figures_138774.asp Quote

I've been out of the Star Wars Toy loop for about oh, 25 or 30 years, but I remember my Luke Skywalker action figures didn't bend at the elbows. Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted June 19, 2011 Author Posted June 19, 2011 Vintage cuz the reissue of the orignal card board. My most wanted figures now are CW Chewie and CW Clonetroopers Phase II. Quote

Mog Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 <Waves hand in front of Hasbro executives>: You will replace all the Vintage Sandtroopers and ROTS Clone Troopers I see at stores with Wave 7 of the Vintage collection. You will ensure that Bastila Shan will be easy to find at brick-and-motar stores. And you will ship out more Wedge Antilles figures as a nice "Oops, our bad" apology to all the fans you've been screwing over with this line. Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted June 29, 2011 Author Posted June 29, 2011 It would been nice if they made anime of the SW-OT, Quote
Keith Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 It would been nice if they made anime of the SW-OT, I've been saying for years it'd be awesome if they let a different big name anime director handle a take at a SW movie. Ep I:?? Ep II:?? Ep III: Hideaki Anno Ep IV: Leiji Matsumoto Ep V: Yoshiyuki Tomino Ep:VI: Shoji Kawamori Quote

Keith Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 (edited) I totally agree on those directors, especially Tomino for ESB. How about Go Nagai for PM or AOTC . Definately Clones, that would allow for Padme "accidentally" losing clothes during the collosium scene, as well as some actual "good" fights with Jango. Hmm, who does that leave for Phantom Menace, Oshii? Otomo? Watanabe? Ah, I know Kazuya Tsurumaki! I can totally see young Anakin being more "Naota"-ey. Edited June 29, 2011 by Keith Quote
Mog Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Granted, the only reason I found this was because I was there a few minutes after the Toys R Us opened, and I'm taking time off to take care of the little guy to the left. But nonetheless. . . . . . . YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH!!!!!! Now all I have to do is get some dirt-brown paint, paint in the hair a little bit, see if I can make the holster sit a little lower, add a leg strap to the gun holster, replace the gun with a more ESB accurate one, see if I can replace the left hand with one that has the "Ford finger" gesture, and maybe see if I have some booted feet that will look a little better on the figure. Oh, the little things in life! Quote
Mog Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 And yes, I did do all of those mods I listed above to good ol' Han. Quote
renegadeleader1 Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 (edited) That reminds me they just released the only other black guy besides Lando from the original trilogy as part of the Endor pilots pack TRU exclusive. The "ITS GONNA BLOW!" guy. EDIT: one of the two packs also includes that poor bastard tie pilot that got stuck behind the Falcon as it made its escape from the death star. Mog Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 The two things you didn't want to be when you're a Rebel pilot were: Fat A Minority. Either of those two traits were pretty much a death sentence in the original trilogy. Quote

Southpaw Samurai Posted July 8, 2011 Posted July 8, 2011 The two things you didn't want to be when you're a Rebel pilot were: Fat A Minority. Either of those two traits were pretty much a death sentence in the original trilogy. Pretty much the only way to avoid a death sentence as a Rebel pilot was to be named Luke or Wedge And even then, I remember someone saying that Lucas almost forgot Wedge when writing ESB because he thought he killed him off. Janson (Wedge's tailgunner) and Hobbie are the only other two named (in the movies - not counting EU or side material) fighter pilots to possibly survive (Hobbie kamikaze's Veer's AT-AT in some of the script versions and related material). Non-hero Rebels in general are true cannon fodder... even Stormtroopers can accurately hit them! Quote

Mog Posted July 21, 2011 Posted July 21, 2011 Pics of the Bastila Shan figure and cardback are up from SDCC: Linky from Rebelscum.com. The paint apps on the two samples' eyes look pretty horrid from certain angles. But if done correctly, it should close enough to be acceptable. Hopefully, those are ball-hinged shoulders we're seeing there, as well. Assuming it is, articulation should be fine with this figure. Absolutely hate the cardback art they picked though. Did they have trouble getting the image license rights from Jennifer Hale (the voice actress for Bastila in KOTOR I)? There are so many better reference pictures I would have rather had for the card art. Also, glad that I bought some pink paint already. If I hopefully find Bastila, she's gonna be modded to be in her correct video game color scheme. In addition, there's pics there of both versions of Mr. Opress and of Chewbacca done up CW style. Mog Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 So, I finally caved and purchased a Bastila Shan off of Ebay. Between kids and work, I wasn't gonna be one of the first people there when the stores opened up. But before I continue, I gotta say "thanks" to David Hingtgen for the following post: David HingtgenPosted 13 February 2011 - 11:03 AM It was obvious months ago they were going with "iconic art on box" Bastila, not "how she actually looks". I think that's mainly to placate the non-gaming fans, who have likely only ever seen that one pic that's always shown of her. I too much prefer the orangey-coral-pink version. (it's hard to describe that color) Because of it, I became super anal-retentive about making sure I customized Bastila to be as video-game accurate in color as possible! Here's my results (apologies for the flash shot): What's crazy is that the pink portions actually look orange in certain lighting: Quote
