Falcon18 Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 Well, I got to panel lining and stickering my 1S, Quote
MacrossJunkie Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Nice. Few people apply the stickers and even fewer take the time to trim them first. Good work. Did you use paint + thinner or an oil wash for the panel lining? Quote
Falcon18 Posted January 26, 2014 Posted January 26, 2014 Thanks! The stickers were abit troublesome and time consuming to trim but they were well worth it. I used Tamiya's Panel Line Accent Colour. It's like a ready made enamel wash, all you have to do is run down the paint down the lines. Any excess will be cleaned up with Tamiya's X-20 thinner. Gotta do it for my Hik 1S and Isamu 29 next.. MacrossJunkie Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I finished weathering my last set of super parts that have been sitting around for months. Fighter GERWALK (yes only 1 pic. Couldn't even move the arms anywhere with the boosters in the way.) Battroid Quote
xrentonx Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Pretty sure you're tired of hearing it...beautiful work as usual! Quote
Reïvaj Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Yeah, what else can we say? MacrossJunkie doesn't give us too many options! Quote
Scyla Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I really like the white paint strips on Michaels missile pods. The pallet swap works great. Great job as always MJ! Quote
treatment Posted February 9, 2014 Posted February 9, 2014 We interrupt your usual valkyrie-porn to bring you a snapshot of Minmay in concert with Mylene and Godzilla! Quote

Couldn't even move the arms anywhere with the boosters in the way.) Battroid I have to keep sayin' it, it's just beautiful MJ!!! I also love your photography of it too. Really elevates these toys - I guess it was good that Bandai made them in the shiny toy-like plastic - it really forced us to do something about it because it looked so awful out of the box. Quote
Reïvaj Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 That could be true for you and MacrossJunkie but I don't think that's good for almost everybody else! Quote
MacrossJunkie Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Just trying to find a silver lining in a dark cloud I just wish they at least had some bit of texture to the plastic. Not only so it looks less shiny out of the box, but so that there's more for paint to stick to. Their own paint has a hard time adhering to it! Quote
close313 Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 Hey MJ, what do you do to prime your DX's for painting and do you just paint the raw plastic? I'm more specifically referring to the brown markings on the 25A on your profile picture. I'm planning to customise my 25A's too but afraid that the paint will get easily scratched off the shiny plastic when handling. Quote
sreichma Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 I Loved when Max got down in his 1-A. Quote

I wipe it down really well with a wet paper towel and then use a brush to brush off any lint left over from the paper towel. The stripes on the wing root and wings themselves shouldn't be a problem as far as scratches are concerned. I had a problem with scraping on the stripes on the sides of the forward fuselage though. Some sanding on the area as well as on the LERX should help with that. You could try spraying some primer also. Just not too much or you might need to sand the inner side of the LERX more to give more clearance. Quote
valkfighter Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 love to see the 1A CF flying, the nose section on the 1/48 looks great, for me looks better than the 1/60 v2, maybe because is longer. by the way, do you like my homemade base? Quote
ErikElvis Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 The 1/48's are a beauty in fighter mode. Quote
close313 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 1/48 valks look awesome at battroid and fighter modes. Quote

wm cheng Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Yay!! Love for the 1/48s - I still prefer my 48s over my 60s... since I mostly leave them in fighter mode all the time ;-) Quote
VF-18S Hornet Posted February 24, 2014 Author Posted February 24, 2014 We interrupt your usual valkyrie-porn to bring you a snapshot of Minmay in concert with Mylene and Godzilla! HA I didn't know Godzilla can play Guitar Hero, no wonder the military ha always be trying to destroy him. Every time he wails on the thing, the shockwave shatters all the windows in Tokyo. DSC_0445.JPG DSC_0483.JPG Nice to see you got yours, HLJ cancelled on mine cause I didn't have enough funds in the bank to purchase. I think it was ofr the best, I want a DYRL Roy 1S with Strike parts added to it. Quote

close313 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I wanted to wait till I get 25A's super parts which the other two will be equipped with, but couldn't wait to share this with you guys. My own VF-25 skull team! Might buy a 4th one if I am able to figure out how to recolour Alto's pack (especially the rotating VTOL engine) or if Bandai releases one for the 25A (which probably wont happen). Pardon my amateur photography skills Quote
