modelglue Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 That thing is so cool. On my wishlist is a collection of the variants in 1/72. It's great to see it modelled in a mainstream scale though, it really looks like a beautiful cast. Quote
Gabe Q Posted May 12, 2014 Posted May 12, 2014 Kitty has claws...... So badass... I love the little figures. Looks like you've done a great job on those. Quote
derex3592 Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Thanks! They are quite an exercise in patience! Quote
MechTech Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 NICE Derex! That's a cool collection! Hopefuly it's gonna go in a nice case somewhere for others to see. - MT Quote
derex3592 Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Claws are all done. Haven't had much time to work on anything else this week. Quote
Viiof Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Here's what I got being built currently. The VF-1S unassembled with option parts. The pins... are such a pain... Lots of runoff paint here but I'll clear that up with my next coat. The black is just a base to darken the overlying coat. Making a totally custom scheme for this one. IMG_5461.JPG Mind me asking what type of paint, and glue that you're using for this? Quote
Falcon18 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 I use Gunze Acrylics. I brush paint my stuff. I was thinking of using normal super glue. Glued some parts in, that seemed to hold it ok enough. Quote
modelglue Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Just checking in to show off my latest haul, delivered from Japan just minutes ago. Quote
derex3592 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I wonder what the heck disturbed these poor guys camp out and what they are shooting at??? .....Anybody picking up on where I'm eventually going with this??? Muhahahahaha.... Quote
Dobber Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Some of you guys may remember my JJ-prise I made using artist is pencils for the paneling and Aztecing. I'm currently using the same technique for the Moebius Battlestar Pegasus kit. Flight pod I'm actually finished paneling the bottom of this pod now, I just haven't taken any new pictures yet. DarkArchon3000 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Awesome work on the Battlestar! Brilliant technique. Quote

Muhahahahaha.... Protect the campfire at all cost!!! Some of you guys may remember my JJ-prise I made using artist is pencils for the paneling and Aztecing. 505thAirborne Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 The Beast looks amazing Dobber, can't wait to see the finished the product. Are you attempting any LED's? Quote
Chronocidal Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 That pencil shading on the JJ-prise was amazing, but this must be an order of magnitude easier to actually do because of all the existing panel lines. It's looking beautiful so far. I might need to try that someday on a trek kit... Quote
Dobber Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 Thanks guys, I also made some modifications to the kit. I added some "greeblie" parts to the back of the "Head" section as the kit comes blank. I scratch built the Gun Plates/platforms (the squares that have the V shapes on them) as they are also missing on the kit. I also used the photo-etch upgrade sets for it, such as the detailing for the walls of the top Head trench, flight pod arm detail, new name plate (this one is named Triton) and finally I also modded it to have hollow flight pods so they have complete through decks. @505th, don't have any plans to light this sucker. Sadly I have no clue how to do such things @Chronocidal, I was thinking this would be easier too, but it's turning out to be a bit of a PITA with all the nooks and crannies and all the raised panels that are all over it! And in case you missed it, the JJ-prise. Shameless self promotion http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=35120&p=1074897 Chris Quote
derex3592 Posted May 26, 2014 Posted May 26, 2014 (edited) That Pegasus model is going to be amazing when you get finished. Just to give you guys an idea, this is how cool the Captains kits could look if I was smart enough to use LED lighting in them. This is just me holding it up under a lamp. Ohh....and small personal victory...it stands!!! Edited May 26, 2014 by derex3592 Quote
derex3592 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Thanks guys! So I got this in the mail today! Finally!! Scored it off eBay. This kit and I have a long history. I built one when I was about 12 in 1987 on spring break at my grandparents house, it didn't turn out great obviously. Just brush painted and glued together. I didn't care! I had an sdf-1 model to play with!!! I kept it for all these years until my mother finally threw it away out of my old room not even a month ago... it had broken pieces off of it but I still liked looking at it occasionally. Thanks Mom. I tried buying another kit about a year back on a Transformers forum, but the guy took my money and disappeared. Dick. Anywhoooo.... Now I have one complete with decals and the original instruction book, I can't wait to start!!! Quote
modelglue Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Looks like it's in pretty good shape too, good score derex! You have to love eBay sometimes... Quote
neptunesurvey Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 This is my latest project. Not yet finished and a quick build job for Yeti's table at WF this weekend. I have others that I need to post. Does anyone like Babylon 5 fighters? Nice SDF1 Derex. I have been staring at that same kit on my shelf lately. Quote

Thom Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 A couple of Garmllas ships. I wanted to take a quick break from kitbashing my Battlestar Pegasus, and these proved to be a coupl eof quick and easy little builds. Kudos to Bandai, for these just fell together and they're modular construction hides almost all the seams! Sweet. and a peak at the Titan class Battlestar Pegasus... It's mocked together. Quote
Phyrox Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 I liked the starfury from B5. I actually much prefer it to the later iterations that appeared on the show. I did this up for a friend a few years ago. This is the only photo I have, pre-drybrushing, small blurry photo. Quote
MechTech Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 Lots of awesome stuff guys!!! I've got to get my butt in gear and finish something! - MT Quote
