CrossAir Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 Just arrived: Eltemus Golem from Broken Blade. Thought it would be easy to handle but now I see the kit has over 200 parts, wow. At least no boring weekends for me Quote

Still on my to-do list before the end of the year is: 1 Tactical squad a full Eldar getting started set (4 bikes and a tank) and a Tau Stormsurge. I'd be done at least one of these if I was distracted by wanting to build and paint a tyranid warrior kill team.... let's not start on what I still have not planned but bought. Quote
007-vf1 Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 (edited) Podtastic; The TV's are reissues bandai. Cheap on Evilbay . Lots of putty and sanding and not taking myself too seriously with the gluing, seamless details. I got 2 long time ago. The color scheme are one Kamjins and the other a UN Spacy version and probably the last time I ever touch those little critters. Nzeod; The Kamjin is from Plastic Cretins. Quite a clean 3D render.. Search them on Facebook. I also have a RE-4C Rabbit and a Gnerl in the same scale which I had customized as you can see on the following pic Arbit; Yeah those are great. My shipping had a mishap and some pieces broke off. I have seen a Breetai by itself in the last couple of months hanging on Evibay. Otherwise buying the yellow Sub storm attacker is your only option It's really hard to come to terms with all that anime magic. regardless of canon sources or not. It is impossible for Kamjin to fit on a Zentran power suit. let alone a Gnerl or even the Glaug. A foot/common soldier can't fit in the Gnerls or Regults. That's why I had the Gnerl oversized a bit. They have to simple be bigger mechas than specified in the books for a soldier to fit in. unless the Zentran sizes are 'wrong'. Edited November 16, 2017 by 007-vf1 enhancement Quote
NZEOD Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Breetai is on Yahoo.jp for about 35USD at the moment. Quote

NZEOD Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 (edited) Some more progress on the 1/144 GiMix Macross Airshow display Discovered that the GiMix macros decals that come with the VFs actually have a carrier film over the top of them that you need to remove after the decals are stuck down. Masking tape takes it off without damaging the decals. Edited November 17, 2017 by NZEOD Quote
Xigfrid Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 That scale looks like very funny to play with @NZEOD Quote
NZEOD Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 1/144 is growing on me due to the abundance of German and Asian N scale rail kits we can repurpose. The wargamersand Gundam modellers use this scale as well so no shortage of items. And you can make scenes that fit in the house better or can even be wall mounted vertically like a picture.... which I'm doing with the Destroid Iraq invasion scenes. 4 seperate display cases wall mounted the span the story lined up next to each other. MechTech Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 The Cylon Raider looks great Pengbuzz! I'm having some serious flashbacks! Arbit, yeah, lilke MickyG said, it is just hand brushing, almost dry brushing with progressively lighter colors. I'm sure there are a ton of wargamer videos on them out there. It does look like your paint needs thinning or filtering (with panty hose) to help get the globs out. Airbrushing can be a pain sometimes. I'll get some more photos of the ship with scale items on it. NZEOD, those look great! I love how you used the Macross scheme on them. - MT Quote

For example, I picked up this cute little kit by Fujimi: After assembling some parts I did a dry-fit of almost everything prior to painting: Some paint added: I didn't pay too much attention to Fujimi's official painting instructions, as the colors they mention don't even match their own example on their site here, and just did whatever seemed fine to me. Then I added a little base (made with left-over resin poured into a Tupperware lid), with some gravel (actually scale HO beach sand) and Tamiya Diorama Texture paint for the earth: That was yesterday. It's pretty much done by now, but I need to wait until tomorrow to make some daylight pictures of the finished model... Edited November 20, 2017 by Salamander Quote
