I'm thinking arms, shoulders, front of the chest.

What makes this harder is the figure has to have the other leg done in pieces all strung along the wiring for the servos and lighting effects.

slow and steady progress though.

The watch looks great Cap'n! Nice styling!

Go Derex Go!

That's an insane scheme NZEOD! But it looks great!

Finally working on the 1/350 VC-27 after months of moving and school. I'll have to post photos later. - MT

More progress on... just the ONE leg... this is going to take FOREVER.

I vinyl cut it myself. Smallest I could go and still be able to weed the outlaying material off was 2mm hex! The smallest on this Destroid is 2.5mm. The Roland cutter needs a new blade to do it all though.

Its just left over 5yr calendered vinyl from some odd jobs. Next time I will try doing it in Cast vinyl to see if the lines are sharper, but as its thinner as well it maybe a bitch to pull up afterwards. This cheaper vinyl is thinker so while it doesnt conform to the shapes as well, even with heat, it IS easier to peel off after painting.

Each tiny pain in the ass little hex is individually positioned and stuck onto the model... by hand... for hours! I still have a Phalanx to do in Desert Brown Hex and 2 Defenders to do in Urban Cam Hex after this one. All while the wife laughs. I guess thats why my graphic work goes under the tag AsylumArt

Nyankodevice, can you get a ruler parked next to your 1/144 Queadluun? Want to know how it compares to the 1/100 Bandai Pods and Glaug and to the Tomytec GiMIX Vf-1s

Thanks

So about 140mm? the VF-1A is 90mm to the head so that could work out perfect!

Even better! I have a Tomytec/Tomix/Kato city under construction with a bunch of GiMIX VFs duking it out with some Bandai 1/100 Glaugs, Regults, Scout pods and Missile pods

I haven't done much sci-fi modeling as of late, but I did just finish this:

Working on a fictional "what if" of the USS Lexington, as a battlecruiser:

I tend to do ships. I'm thinking I'll try my hand at a Macross, maybe the Hasegawa 1/4000 DYRL kit?

Jumping from project to project at the moment, between MTB and Motox Training... this weekend is fitting the massive very green glass splashbacks in the kitchen, designing and building an intergrated aquarium and hidden sump that fits in the kitchen cabinets, sorting my Macross wallpaper for my PC room walls and slapping together a 1/100 Regult for the Tomytec City fight diorama

Not happy with the wearing on the feet yet but close to Future sealing then decals then dirt and oil time and done.

Small update on SDF-1, Carriers are together and work is proceeding slowly.. I don't know how I got this thing together as a kid.. LOL

As i recall, the benefit of being a kid is I was not a perfectionist. You probably just buried it in Testors glue till it hung together, and then battle damaged the hell out of it!

11PM...just the decals left to do, then its on to the N Scale bus this Regult just stepped on. Tomorrows mission.

Not to bad a result for a 1/100 scale 80s' vintage kit.

Neopixel gun or another led?

Lovely paint on the Regult. Is that Arii? It pops!

The wave motion gun was a neopixel running the Strandtest from the library. I am learning how to program my own gun timed to the anime sound effects.

Great to have a real ship modeler here.

Just the man I'm looking for:

I need hollow ~1/700 barrels for my Yamato to run the SMDs through. Any recommendations?

I cant figure out if the bronze turrets on Ebay are hollow all the way through or not. Thx.

Yep, have 4 pods, 2 light missle pods, A heavy missile pod, 2 glaugs (one toasting in a pool of burning fuel) and 2 Queadluuns to go for the Zentradi forces, then its on to the city and the refinery itself

Quickly glancing at the third shot in this set, I thought you already had the pod in flames

Great work! Can't wait to see the final product. I just added the Tamiya F-14A Tomcat to the backlog... Should get around to it in 2250 or so... Beautiful kit, highly recommended.

Had a bit of a setback on the SDF-1 today....tried to take a small shortcut and spray paint the nose gun portion out of the rattle can just to see if the color was going to be right and put it on a bit too thick. Went out to the garage to try to remove it however no one really told me that off-the-shelf lacquer thinner would more or less melt not only the plastic a bit but also the glue that was holding the two parts together and then when I tried to take them apart it basically ripped the plastic not at the seam, patched and puttied as best as possible and re primering, but it is definitely not going to be as good as it would have been. Have I mentioned I FREAKING HATE these old 80s kits??? SMH. Apparently God never intends me to have this kit completed properly. Uuhhhhhhhgggggggg

Hey at least you didnt spray a canopy in a yellow/gold/future mix hoping to get a reflective finish thats still transparent, realize it wasnt working as intended and then drop that canopy into some clear acetone only to comeback 10mins later to a yellow bottle of acetone and no evidence of a canopy any more...

Be happy you still have something solid to patch up and putty, even if it IS a lumpy pile of slag.
