Urashiman Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Okay, the other one was closed, so we need to start a new one. Current build and next build in one picture Quote
505thAirborne Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Wow, the old page finally got retired! Nice build so far on your Hornet, will your SV-51 be in Nora's color scheme or are you doing a custom? Quote
Urashiman Posted May 29, 2011 Author Posted May 29, 2011 the hornet is just a cheap Revell modelkit that I use to check out some alternate building methods and coloring. The SV-51 will be colored in Nora-scheme. I'm not that much of a customizer. The only custom things I did were those two things: The F-14 was a cheap Italeri kit I "modded" into a Macross Zero F-14 with redundant pilots from two of my VF-0 kits. The VF-1 was a normal Hasegawa Hikaru VF-1A. But I did another paintjob on it. Both were done without Airbrush, so they look a bit messy. Pre-ordered two of those Hasegawa VF-11, so I can do a custom-paint. Thought about VF-X II scheme Quote
Urashiman Posted May 31, 2011 Author Posted May 31, 2011 no, both are Italeri Kits. They are really cheap over here in german, about 9€ each. Quote
neptunesurvey Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Nice collection Urashiman. I do recommend dusting them off so everyone can see your painting skills. Unless you intentional added that detail so your models will better blend. Quote
Chronocidal Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 "Hey, they aren't dusty, that's my weathering method!" I should have used that on my parents years ago. Quote
Urashiman Posted June 1, 2011 Author Posted June 1, 2011 haha, lol I wipe dust about every 6 month, because I'm lazy Still waiting for my Mr. Color order to build the SV-51y. Quote

derex3592 Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I just successfully SNAPPED the nose part OFF my Zentradi Flagship Resin model while trying to get the 2 halves to glue together properly. Outstanding. I KNEW I wasn't going to do well on this resin kit stuff. Quote
PetarB Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Dang! In other news, I have completed a couple of Macross items (one of which has not been seen 'built' yet). But I will hold off for another week before posting... I have a meet I want to surprise some folks at. Quote
derex3592 Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 Never give up, never surrender!! Well, it's all glued together now, the break was clean so I decided to proceed and try to finish this up. Too $$$ not to try...if anyone can see the seams of the cracks later, we'll just call it ummm battle damage!! yeah, that'll work! now the putty and the sanding begins! Quote

Urashiman Posted June 10, 2011 Author Posted June 10, 2011 Started my work on the SV-51y, this thing nearly is building on its own. muhahahahaha Quote
derex3592 Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 (edited) Had a chance to airbrush my "pickle", as my GF has lovingly named it...Top only, gotta hunt down the color I want to use for the bottom this week hopefully. I think it turned out pretty good. The dark dirt wash i plan to use will darken the green up a shade or two... I'm using this pic as a color guide sort of... Edited June 12, 2011 by derex3592 Quote
kyekye Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Technically, this 'WAS' lying on my workbench a month and 1/2 ago.... After I completed the SDF-1 custom, I was going to go back to my old VF-25S Ozma. However, I was derailed by this baby. When I saw it, I just couldn't resist! Some MW members might have seen this already from other forum, but I'm posting here again in case you're MGS fan and missed it. Full action MGS REX resin kit conversion!!! Full WIP and complete image here Quote
Reïvaj Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Oooh I love it, nice work on that Metal Gear! Great job, kyekye, congratulations and thanks for sharing! Quote
KOTUS Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 That really does look nice. I also like the background sections that it's standing on. Quote

Noyhauser Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Not done, but pretty close. I hope the members down under like it. Hasegawa 1/72 I'll take some more photos with a better Camera when its done. Quote
Myersjessee Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Still slowly working through my Mosacato 1/24 Raptor. Canopy and cockpit are just sitting there for reference. Weathering is almost done. Trying to match the CG model, not the 1:1. Quote
EXO Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 Jesse! The weathering on the raptor is masterful! One of the best I've seen on these boards. I was reading a hobby book a while back at a store and I saw this model by Moscato which reminded me of the project on MW. Was the one in the book this exact same model? Quote
505thAirborne Posted June 26, 2011 Posted June 26, 2011 That is one frakking detailed Raptor Myersjessee, are their pilots with this kit? (Boomer, Helo...) I hope Moebius makes a Raptor, shes one sweet bird. Quote
Myersjessee Posted June 27, 2011 Posted June 27, 2011 Exo...it is the same kit. John does amazing work. 505th, I agree 100%...would love to see a Mobius Raptor. There are 2 figures with the kit. A Boomer pilot and a Helo for the rear seat. Quote
PetarB Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Not done, but pretty close. I hope the members down under like it. Hasegawa 1/72 I'll never forget seeing a couple of these at an airshow in Windsor around 1991. Very impressive beast, but certainly due for retirement. Quote

One of my buddies whose the manager for Smith Bros Hobbies in L.A. said the latest rumor was that Moebius will be doing the PEGASUS, but no word of a Raider or Raptor yet, keeping fingers crossed!! Quote
Ghost Train Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 I hope Moebius does the Blackbird, the epitomy of sci-fi space fighter minimalism. Quote

Jefuemon Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Fresh out of the box. I kind of love these moments. Quote
505thAirborne Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Fresh out of the box. I kind of love these moments. Its a great moment!! My YF-21 is still in the box, need to build it one of these days!! Quote
derex3592 Posted July 4, 2011 Posted July 4, 2011 Ok Guys.....Here she is...the model I have wanted since childhood...finished. This was my first multiple piece resin kit..different to say the least from a normal kit...aside from the very difficult task of getting the two halves together, I really enjoyed building it. I tried to take my time and I am pleased with how it came out. Pics really don't do the weathering justice...hard to get a good pic of it on the green paint. The kit was made by Wayne at Scale Solutions down in Australia. It was very well done in my opinion. Now I just have to figure out where and how I am going to fit it in my Macross cabinet! Quote
