kamadoma Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 (edited) I just tried and I was actually able to pull off that aggressive pose. I think mine was only a pull of two clicks since I barely saw the metal shaft. Despite the very loose ankles, it still held on well once the foot movement were obstructed by the ankle bands. Though I never bothered taking pics since I just wanted to try it out. I actually didn't know you could pull as many as five clicks, thanks. Edited October 1, 2011 by kamadoma
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 (edited) I found a negative-sounding review of the fire valkyrie on youtube: "I can't stand it" "It's a crap toy." I thought it would be good to post in MWB to see what reaction I'd get while I'm bored waiting for these toys to come out. (you have to admit there has been barely any hype or coverage or pics of these upcoming toys lately) Does anyone here feel the same way as he does? Let me know if you want to sell your stuff cheap to me. thanks. lol I don't think I can afford all the variants and might be short on $. Edited October 2, 2011 by 1/1 LowViz Lurker

Anyway, this review has already been lambasted and ridiculed Linky to the ridicule
kurdt_the_goat Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 This is just a photoshop i did. Too excited for this one!
Reïvaj Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 COOOOL! Thank you very much for your PS job, kurdt_the_goat! Really really looking forward to having one of these in my hands!!!
Graham Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Just to note, the magazine on the gunpod will be the standard gunpod magazine, not the beam adaptor, so should be grey, not orange. Graham

Raptor One Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Just to note, the magazine on the gunpod will be the standard gunpod magazine, not the beam adaptor, so should be grey, not orange. Graham No beam adaptor accessory?
firmpulse Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Just to note, the magazine on the gunpod will be the standard gunpod magazine, not the beam adaptor, so should be grey, not orange. Graham Graham, will the intake covers be removable on the 17?
Reïvaj Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Graham, will the intake covers be removable on the 17? I hope so, but according to the line art they shouldn't. Source: http://www.macross2.net/m3/macross7/vf-17s-nightmare.htm
Mommar Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 I like the colors you chose. Especially that subdued yellow. Unfortunately I'm afraid it's going to be more of a bright yellow like what we see on the VF-19S.
Kicker773 Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 (edited) Damn Emerald force is up for reservation but nothing on the Diamond force yet... tsk... Edited October 4, 2011 by Kicker773
kamadoma Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 We can probably expect preorders by next month. Same goes for the colored model.
Graham Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 Graham, will the intake covers be removable on the 17? It's a stealth Valk, utilising both passive and active stealth. The intake covers are not supposed to open/come off. Graham
Xx-SKULL-ONE-xX Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 It's a stealth Valk, utilising both passive and active stealth. The intake covers are not supposed to open/come off. Graham So that's a yes right?
nightmareB4macross Posted October 4, 2011 Posted October 4, 2011 That VF-17 looks incredible. Can't wait to see the final colors selected. Graham, will the finish on this be matte or flat??
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 (edited) I remember him saying it won't have the shiny look of the vf-19. I'm not a fan of shiny finish. Yeah maybe there is some anime reason for why things must look shiny like sportscars (beam resistant coating, girls will look at you showing off in the valk more, giant zentradi oil is poured onto it before each mission in order to more easily escape being grabbed by them and thrown in a wrestling match at close range combat etc) but I prefer flat look. Follow the example of the vf-11b and vf-22s yamato: After going to the pictures thread I just ended up ordering another vf-22s thanks to hlj sale. lol I hope more pic of this come out in color soon. Show me all the gimmicks. Enough teasing. Edited October 5, 2011 by 1/1 LowViz Lurker

00Geass Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 So I'm guessing we're getting a nice amount of diecast with this figure for he pricetag. Not that I lIke diecast bit for the price it seems like there'd be quite a bit of it present
Uxi Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 That gunpod looks great. Right now my fav is the VF-11B's. Think I want a non-canon VF-17 with bayonet in my dream pilot pack from Yamato.
Lynk Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Damn the Macross 7 line is turning out to be so awesome... can't wait for the VF-17 but in the back of all of our minds I know some of us are waiting for the rest of Sound Force to be made XD
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Graham do you know yet if the VF-17 will have a lot of ratchets and if the arms can go in normal and high speed mode? Damn it, I want 2 now. The S was awesome...and same with the D. Why? Both are bulky in battroid, unique VF's, and the HEAD SCULPTS! The head designs are some of my favorites of all VF's.
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 But what if bandai secretly come out with the vf-171 like tommorow? Then you are screwed.
Tober Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 But what if bandai secretly come out with the vf-171 like tommorow? Then you are screwed. Or overjoyed.
pud333 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 If Bandai suddenly introduced the VF-171, I would be the happiest dude in the world.
alchemo Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 (edited) No sweat, all of them toys manufacturers announce their products at least 2 months prior to release dates nowadays so we just have to fast if more VFs are to be released. which may be a reality next year Edited October 6, 2011 by alchemo
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 But what if bandai secretly come out with the vf-171 like tommorow? Then you are screwed. How? The joints might become looser over time like with the V1 DX Messiahs. Plus the 17 is more memorable, and has been in demand for a much longer time. Plus it wasn't treated as cannon fodder, so I think it's safe to say the VF-17 is more popular(I would buy both though, the 171, especially the EX, looks awesome).
alchemo Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Honestly, I think the chance for a VF-171 would be when Bandai release the copyright to Yamato to produce Macross Frontier mecha, a few years later. as a minor mecha (not that the mecha is inferior, only not featured as the hero in the show) is really hard to make it to the production line of Bandai nowadays.
jenius Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 I agree with you but the fact we got a YF-29 kinda makes me think anything is possible... although the YF-29 obviously had a lot of R&D benefit as far as a potential V2 VF-25 toy was concerned.
Raptor One Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 I disagree. The YF-29 was pretty much a given. New super powerful mecha for the lead character of a new movie for a popular franchise? How could they NOT make it? I would say the VF-27 is more of an example of anything being possible, then again it's pretty much a VF-25 variant.
jenius Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 There's an Alto hero version of the VF-171... even a Luca version.
Raptor One Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 (edited) True, but what I meant was that the YF-29 was new to the movie and served as an upgrade for the main character. The promotion for the movie also centred heavily on the YF-29. The VF-171 wasn't really anything special, even when Alto flew it. In other words it's likely more people would want a YF-29 than 171. It's basically the same route they took with the 00 movie and the Qan[T]. Hero gets a fancy new mecha for the movie which is promoted heavily to build hype for the toys (gunpla) as well as the movie itself. Notice they never released a model of that special flag Setsuna piloted, even though it was a hero version. Edited October 6, 2011 by Raptor One
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted October 6, 2011 Posted October 6, 2011 Hmm. Judging by the design of the ankles, I wonder if they can only pivot forwards and backwards. Not that I take issue with that, as the stats I read said that they can used only for yaw in fighter mode, not pitch/roll. Eager to see more pics. Fighter mode looks great.
