eugimon Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 I am curious how they are going to get the wings to look small in battroid. They look pretty big on the fighter prototype. they're not. You can see the wings in the battroid CAD
Chronocidal Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 Hmmm.. Looking good so far Can't wait to see more pics of it. Tails look like they're tilted a bit too far in to me, but might just be the angle of the picture.
Cent Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 The wings extend to the thighs in the CAD. Hoping for battroid-specific parts/covers.
kanedaestes Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 I am curious how they are going to get the wings to look small in battroid. They look pretty big on the fighter prototype. All valk wings shrink in the anime, but there is no physical way to duplicate that on the toys. Gotta love anime magic.
Ignacio Ocamica Posted July 26, 2011 Posted July 26, 2011 (edited) We need better and bigger pics of the VF-17 prototype!!!! PLEASE!!!!!! Edited July 27, 2011 by Ignacio Ocamica
Xx-SKULL-ONE-xX Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 they're not. You can see the wings in the battroid CAD Too bad, the stubby wings make battroid look beefier.
Mommar Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I honestly have zero problem with the wings being a little longer. I still think the Battroid in that CAD looks pretty damn beefy and menacing.
danth Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I honestly have zero problem with the wings being a little longer. I still think the Battroid in that CAD looks pretty damn beefy and menacing. Agreed; I'm all for line art-accurate fighter modes regardless of the slight compromises in battroid.
Archer Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Oh boy, the CAD design seems to show that the design for the feet will be very similar to that of the VF-19 kai....ball joints. Please oh please someone advise Yamato to go with ratchets instead. I don't care if some posability will be sacrificed, as a toy that can stand up for more than a few months is worth more to me than one that will do a cool pose for a few minutes before collapsing...
Mommar Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Agreed; I'm all for line art-accurate fighter modes regardless of the slight compromises in battroid. I actually don't feel like it's a "compromise." It's about the only realistic way to do it and I'm fine with that. Oh boy, the CAD design seems to show that the design for the feet will be very similar to that of the VF-19 kai....ball joints. How can you tell from the CAD? It's so small.

Reïvaj Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 (edited) Release date? Source: http://www2.moeyo.com/img/11/07/27/4/436.html Edited July 27, 2011 by Reïvaj
Raptor One Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 I am curious how they are going to get the wings to look small in battroid. They look pretty big on the fighter prototype. Probably the same way they do it on the VF-1 toys ...wait
UN Spacy Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Release date? Source: http://www2.moeyo.com/img/11/07/27/4/436.html Awesome. It'll make for a nice Christmas gift.
Reïvaj Posted July 27, 2011 Posted July 27, 2011 Awesome. It'll make for a nice Christmas gift. Nice and penniless!
Mommar Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 Release date? Source: http://www2.moeyo.com/img/11/07/27/4/436.html It's nice to know a release date but... of all the things to take pics of!?!
biggooftoybox Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 I can't wait. I haven't gotten a VF-19Custom yet (Basara's) But this is definitely on my list on a slightly higher priority. I've always liked the VF-17s although it just wasn't as sleek as the other Valkyries.
Reïvaj Posted July 28, 2011 Posted July 28, 2011 I’d love to have something more… substantial, but look at the background:
charger69 Posted July 28, 2011 Author Posted July 28, 2011 (edited) I’d love to have something more… substantial, but look at the background: Check this first: http://translate.googleusercontent.com/translate_c?hl=tr&rurl=translate.google.com.tr&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http://akibahobby.net/2011/06/yamato_dollholic_vol4.html&usg=ALkJrhj3B_BWRbp4Abcm-OiUfib5e-Nhtg Then: Please someone go to the 8th floor office of Yamato at some building at Akihabara and take some VF-17S CAD image photos Edited July 28, 2011 by charger69
charger69 Posted July 28, 2011 Author Posted July 28, 2011 BTW Check second image again, I see two gun ports on the legs... We need only one on the right lower leg, am I correct??

It's so small. Well, I obviously don't know for sure, but the aesthetics of the leg and feet seem very similar to that of the VF-19 Kai, and in pure inference, I kinda assumed that there would be a high probability that ball joints would be applied like the VF-19..
Ignacio Ocamica Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 BTW Check second image again, I see two gun ports on the legs... We need only one on the right lower leg, am I correct?? Maybe the other port is for the MC-17A Gun Pod Beam Adapter??
Reïvaj Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Maybe the other port is for the MC-17A Gun Pod Beam Adapter?? Yes, that could be a possibility.
Graham Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 BTW Check second image again, I see two gun ports on the legs... We need only one on the right lower leg, am I correct?? That's an old CAD, already discussed with Yamato about 1.t5 to 2 months ago and the second port has already been removed. Don't worry. Graham
kanedaestes Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Damn you Graham and your secret ninja/CIA information. lol
Shaorin Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 I'm surprised nobody has a hang up on the fact he keeps calling those of us who display our Valks on their landing gears "pussies." If he thinks there should be missile bays and not landing gears he can state why, but don't call me a pussy again. indeed. here's my little way of giving that idea the 'ol One-Fingered Salute;
Chronocidal Posted July 30, 2011 Posted July 30, 2011 Ok, that topic died pages ago, can we not dig it up again? Want closeups of VF-17 fast!
charger69 Posted August 3, 2011 Author Posted August 3, 2011 (edited) Better than nothing!! Mirrored CAD Edited August 3, 2011 by charger69
Ignacio Ocamica Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Nice find!!! Thank you. The legs look the propers size tor me. The proportions are spot on!!! Can't wait to see pics of the actual prototype.
Mommar Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Doesn't look too bad at all. The calves actually look a little thicker than I expected too.
Mommar Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 What I'm still a little confused about is why nobody was allowed to take pics of the prototype VF-17 or Blazers. We had a years worth of proto-type pics of the VF-19 Kai and nobody seemed to have issues. Now we've got to sneak around and photo shop CAD images instead.

We didn't get a whole lot of the kai either, actually. We got a couple in fighter mode and then it was quiet for a long time. Actually, yamato has never been really forthcoming with prototype pics. Usually we get a CAD or two early on, then a couple of resin pics and then nothing until very soon to release date.
