1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 (edited) For me accurate proportions are important too, but I think the gimmick adds value to it. Just to say "this was possible we are advancing from toys of the past." You know how in japan they built a life sized gundam statue? I kinda wish they did that for a macross valkyrie in robot mode. And inside the statue were all the gimmicks that we saw in the show like the seat being flippable and the pilot being allowed to come out from the top of the robot and little details like that. Bigger things mean your eyes can see more details. A valkyrie and destroid would be smaller than a life size gundam but I reckon it would look better. (make the gunpod workable but no ammo inside it) A life sized vf-25 statue should be built imo. Edited July 5, 2011 by 1/1 LowViz Lurker
m0n5t3r Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 what would be truly awesome is a life-size (1:1 scale) VF in fighter mode....... without landing gears.

Does the seat rotate on the VF-25?
Mog Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Getting back on topic, I hope we see some CAD pictures. . . . . . . of the landing gears!
UN Spacy Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Well WonFes IS coming up on the 24th. I have a feeling we'll see something good by then.
Ignacio Ocamica Posted July 6, 2011 Posted July 6, 2011 Every time I see there's a new post in this thread I open it like a little boy screaming in anticipation I'll see pics of a prototype Still nothing
Macross_Fanboy Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 Every time I see there's a new post in this thread I open it like a little boy screaming in anticipation I'll see pics of a prototype Still nothing LOL, same here. At least the landing gear debate was squashed.
Kicker773 Posted July 7, 2011 Posted July 7, 2011 So are there any prototype pictures? I might be wrong but I didn't see any.
blackconvoy_D01 Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 Yeah, I'd really like to see some prototype pics too. Especially since I can't get another Valk until this one comes out.
Uxi Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 what would be truly awesome is a life-size (1:1 scale) VF in fighter mode....... without landing gears. That's fine. Especially in Gerwalk.
505thAirborne Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 So are there any prototype pictures? I might be wrong but I didn't see any. Hopefully soon, I'm very curious how Yamato will pull this one off!!
BlueMax Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Yes, in Graham's mobile. He was challenging people to break into his phone... Lol
charger69 Posted July 12, 2011 Author Posted July 12, 2011 (edited) New Poster Comparison shot from MMM Gerwalk Knee Bend Debate: HASSHIN! And guess what... As I suggested, the first version is VF-17D Wait a sec...Nevermind...Owned Edited July 12, 2011 by charger69
m0n5t3r Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 (edited) VF-17D? does it say there on the poster (the writing) or did you just infer that from the number of antennae/head lasers on the silhouette? ... i remember Graham saying here on this thread that it would be the S first before the D. ...i'm not complaining... i prefer the D also. charger69 Posted July 12, 2011 Author Posted July 12, 2011 (edited) I've counted antennas As a marketing point of view: Why to release first the "updated" version of a product? Edited July 12, 2011 by charger69
m0n5t3r Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I'm dying to know if it'll be the D or S first! (^o^) S, thought I'd mentioned earlier in the thread. Graham
Renato Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 I've counted antennas As a marketing point of view: Why to release first the "updated" version of a product? I don't know but Yamato has always brought out the VF-1S before the VF-1J/A, and they brought out the VF-0S before the A, etc. I'm not sure which one I like better, but I can probably only afford one.
Ignacio Ocamica Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Yamato is clearly using the VF-17 lineart, but I wish they're just building expectation for this release and not inferring they'll go for that "defying the law of gravity" gerwalk stance. If they get the VF-17 to stand like that cool, but I personally still want the legs to keep the ability to bend forward to get the nose down
Graham Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Trust, me as I have a whole buncha pics of the prototype, it is the S first. Graham

With the 1/60's VF-1 ver 1 and the 1/48's Yamato started with Hikaru's VF-1A EDIT: Graham confirmed it's going to be the S first. I'm in for all the VF-17 versions and I'll try to buy at least two of each, barring any financial catastrophy Edited July 12, 2011 by Ignacio Ocamica
charger69 Posted July 12, 2011 Author Posted July 12, 2011 (edited) I'm planning a Diamond Force Squadron Edited July 12, 2011 by charger69
raptormesh Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Ah right, I might skip the S then and wait for the D.
Mog Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 The S may be coming out first, but I'm still gonna paint it to match the D's cooler blue-on-blue color scheme.
Mommar Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 This slow trickle of "not-quite" images is freaking murder man!
CF18 Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 We will see more when they show it in WonderFest 2011 on July 24th, hopefully without too much "no photo" signs in the way...
m0n5t3r Posted July 12, 2011 Posted July 12, 2011 Trust, me as I have a whole buncha pics of the prototype, it is the S first. Graham tease!
Loop Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 (edited) I know Yamato hurry the F*ck up!!! The suspense is killing me, I am to the point where I am being distracted by all the rumblings over in the Bandai Macross camp. And Graham........ please don't tease us and talk about photos unless you can share. Edited July 13, 2011 by Loop
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 I'm in a tough spot right now, but I'll try to get the S. If I can't make it, it's ok, I'll save for the D which is my favorite anyway.
Fly4victory Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 With the 1/60 Yamato pending how many M7 Bandai's are going to find their way to the dumpster? If they are dumpster bound, all I can say is "What the F**K, don't chuck!" I am sure they could find a home for the cost of shipping and handing.
ff95gj Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 With S first, they can release the Millia version without making a new mold for the head. Big deal. Did I say I don't mind a Max color 17S?
Chronocidal Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 Stop, don't let them make a Max version, or I'll have to buy it. I really just want a Millia S, and a Gamlin D. XD
Renato Posted July 13, 2011 Posted July 13, 2011 And Graham........ please don't tease us and talk about photos unless you can share. I don't know about you, but I like knowing that it is coming along nicely, even if I can't see it.
