Actar Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 ^^This is not 100% acurate. Yup, I know that. That's why I said "national" and not prefecture, etc...
ErikElvis Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 (edited) Im actually liking this head better than the D. I do like the white stripes on the D though. Edited December 6, 2011 by ErikElvis

ff95gj Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Hi Graham, do you think the VF-17S would be released before Xmas?
Graham Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Hi Graham, do you think the VF-17S would be released before Xmas? I certainly hope so!IIRC, the plan was to release it by 25th Dec, but that info is very old and I don't know it it has changed or not. Graham
ff95gj Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 (edited) Thanks Graham! But if that is the case... That means no VF-17S for my Xmas. The logistics don't deliver on public holidays. Edited December 7, 2011 by ff95gj
ff95gj Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 12/25 is a Sunday anyway. I begin to doubt if I would get it within 2011.
Ignacio Ocamica Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I begin to doubt if I would get it within 2011. Well I know for sure that I wont get it delivered to South America until at least the 15th of January
MacrossJunkie Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I hope Yamato's D variant head doesn't look anything like that Experten model's a few pages back. That one looks kinda derpy. Hope some pics start showing soon.
UN Spacy Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 The last bad head Yamato gave us was their VF-1S v1.0 sculpt. Squished from the get go. I think we can all agree...no one likes getting bad head.

MacrossJunkie Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 you know that sounds so perverted and wrong. Or so right, depending on your point of view
Uxi Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 lol double etendre. You know, I prefer the 1/60 v1 VF-1 to the 1/48. I always HATED that seem down the middle of the 1/48 head more than the squished of 1/60 v1.

The central seam design is stupid, but it is actually passable when you look at the product.
physioguy Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 I can honestly say I've never had bad head in my life... ... but then again I didn't get any of the version 1 squishy heads In all seriousness though, I'm anxiously awaiting the VF-17D! Now that has to be the best head in the Macross Universe!
nightmareB4macross Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 Does anyone know if the VF-17 will come with option parts to attach the existing fold booster?? And I am not sure, but did Graham state there was or was not going to be a release for the VF-17 fast packs??

nightmareB4macross Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 True, but did Yamato ever confirm that the Fast Packs were coming?
Jasonc Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 I'd like there to be a fold booster attachment too. If not, that's what I'm going to do next, make attachments.
Reïvaj Posted December 8, 2011 Posted December 8, 2011 True, but did Yamato ever confirm that the Fast Packs were coming? No.
Mommar Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 True, but did Yamato ever confirm that the Fast Packs were coming? Well, they never said, "Hey, we're making Fast Packs." But while highlighting some of the gimmicks they specifically showed the two pieces on the top of the 17 where fast packs would attach as if to say "look at these slots where fast packs could be attached." So, I think technically they're going to do it.

Graham Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Im actually liking this head better than the D. I do like the white stripes on the D though. I don't know why some people think the VF-17D has white stripes. It does not. It has blue stripes. The only time I have ever seen white stripes on the VF-17D was on the cover art of an old 1995 issue of B-Club magazine. Graham

Graham It's because people who haven't seen Macross 7 go to Macross Mecha Manual and look up the VF-17D there. They see the first entry which shows the white stripe, black head version rather than the sub-entry for the diamond force version.

Mommar Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 They also showed Fast Packs in a display recently. Then again, they show a lot of stuff. Was there actually a pic with fast packs? I must have missed that.

Hey I struggled through every episode of Mac 7 and Ill be damned if I could tell you the S's stripes were blue. I know I saw that white stripe somewhere though.
Chronocidal Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 I think it's just because of how dark the VF-17 is, and how little else there is that's actually white around the stripes to compare to. Most times, they really do look like they're supposed to be white, unless you see them next to something that's clearly bright white or silver. In the opening, the stripes do look like they're meant to be white. The limited palette in the animation means you only have so many colors, and shadowed white often gets drawn in shades of light grayish-blue. In this case, the white head on the VF-17S looks nearly the same color as the stripes on the VF-17Ds following it in the shot where they're hovering across the sand. The shot also happens to use the same color for the clouds.
Chronocidal Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 K, I'll have to blame it on bad encoding then. My copy, and most of what's on youtube isn't nearly that sharp or clean. Reminds me, I need to track down the better quality version of M7.
VF5SS Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 You should know better than to discuss anything from Macross 7 with actually facts, Reivaj. Come on now.
Mommar Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Blue or white, doesn't matter. I think both of those colors look good on the 17.
ErikElvis Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Well just for kicks I watched the intro to mac 7 that i had downloaded and ill be damned if those stripes don't look white.
