MIsaHayase
Glad I have all three seasons on DVD. It figures syfy would show it late at night when I have to get some sleep for work.
Dynaman
Glad I have all three seasons on DVD. It figures syfy would show it late at night when I have to get some sleep for work. I have the first couple discs of the second season, but the reproduction quality is dreadful, with luck the version shown on SciFi will be better (I can hope...) Keith
I have the first couple discs of the second season, but the reproduction quality is dreadful, with luck the version shown on SciFi will be better (I can hope...) Wouldn't count on it, Voyager Ent only seems to have their badly degraded masters from the 70's & 80's. Not sure what their situation is on getting newer versions & re-authoring. Even their Yamato movie box was worn out VHS masters thrown on DVD.
taksraven
The box set version of Season 2 was waaaaay below broadcast quality, so I am hard pressed to imagine anybody showing it on TV now. Re-authoring from the Japanese masters of Yamato would be the way to go. It would probably be an expensive pain in the arse to do, but it would be worth it. UN Spacy
I juuuust set my DV-R to record the entire series.
UN Spacy
To anyone that hasn't seen it before. I highly....HIGHLY recommend you watch it tomorrow.
reddsun1
2:00 am? Are you f'ing kidding me? Can you think of a better way to kill a show before it even gets going, than with a shi**y time slot? Yeah, yeah--I know, lots of folks can "set to record" and all that. But still. I'm just sayin...
UN Spacy
Wow. That sure was a trip down memory lane. The best part? Seeing that there are only 364 days left.
Dynaman
Wow. That sure was a trip down memory lane. The best part? Seeing that there are only 364 days left. You forgot the "Hurry, Starforce, Hurry!" line. I used to run my arse home from school to watch this show.
Jasonc
I wanted to watch this, but, with the crappy time slot, I won't be seeing this ever on t.v. What sucks is that they moved the original ani-monday to thursday, and now they don't even have that. Sucks.
mechaninac
Saw it, loved it, will try to see it all. It's been years since I saw this show on video, and decades since I saw it on TV... I had forgotten just how porn-tastic some of the background sound track was on this show. Other than the obviously dated animation (just a couple of steps above Speed Racer in some spots) this is such a great show that the minor flaws are easy to overlook... Go Star Force... Coota0
I wanted to watch this, but, with the crappy time slot, I won't be seeing this ever on t.v. Jasonc
It's on youtube also. Yeah, I know. I was disappointed, because I wanted to show my support by watching it on t.v., as I like to do with all the shows I watch, but as of now, it's not meant to be. The sacrifice for having to work at 6a.m.

Beltane70
I totally forgot about Starblazers this evening. Why I didn't program my DVR to record it is beyond me.
UN Spacy
I just checked the cable listings and Star Blazers isn't being shown on SyFy tomorrow. It'll return on May 12th with The Reflex Gun Parts 1 and 2.

Dynaman
Is the animation on these particular versions of the episodes really jumpy for everyone? Yes. Who caught episodes 5 and 6 on Thursday? I have them taped for watching sometime this weekend.
Fly4victory
Who caught episodes 5 and 6 on Thursday? I don't think there was a 5 and 6 this Thursday. I have the DVR set but there was nothing recorded.
Dynaman
I don't think there was a 5 and 6 this Thursday. I have the DVR set but there was nothing recorded. You got cheated somehow, Episodes 5 and 6 were on last thursday, the Jupiter and Saturn episodes. Next week is the Pluto episodes (can't remember if there are one or two of them). Beltane70
From what I've heard, several cable companies, mine included, didn't have Star Blazers listed as being on this past Thursday. I wound up only seeing the last 10 minutes of the sixth episode.
UN Spacy
Episodes 7 and 8 (The Reflex Gun Parts 1/2) are tonight!
Renato
Yamato and Yamato 2 were shown again in Japan for the 30th anniversary back in 2004, and I used to watch it when I lived in Osaka. Unfortunately I had to give it up after a while because it was on at around 3 or 4am. Coincidentally, it was exactly the same deal, two back-to-back episodes on Thursdays. Man, what a killer. In fact, I think I remember it clashed with Samurai Champloo. I don't remember, that may have been Tuesdays actually .
