Starscream Posted February 28, 2011 Posted February 28, 2011 I figured it's about time we get a logo/insignia thread going. So what is a logo/insignia thread? It's a repository thread for you to dump insignias and logos from the Macross universe :3 Whether they are made by you, or you found them on the internet... but let's keep to higher quality. I'll start by posting on I did in photoshop of the Galaxy logo, since looking around the internet, I concluded that there were NO clean Galaxy logo images. This was created for the purpose of using on a fan project I am involved in. Also, feel free to critique my rendition of the Galaxy logo. Always looking to improve! Take it from here. Quote
Zinjo Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Nice. Though It would be better if it were a higher resolution. The bigger the better I always say... Quote

Talos Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 I should probably post some of the stuff I have done. Most, if not all of mine were done for my profile works (both Macross and aircraft). I do most of the markings for my profiles, including the squadron insignia on the tail, the UN Spacy text, and the UNS Kite on this SVF-213 Black Lions VF-4. http://talos56.deviantart.com/gallery/#/d25zmdi My very first attempt at a crest was for this (old!) VF-4 Angelbirds profile, where I did both the crest and the logo for a VF-4-era Angelbirds plane. http://talos56.deviantart.com/gallery/7626781?offset=24#/d1r2gbn Also attached are an 84th Bomb Wing crest I did for a Martin B-51 profile a friend and I collaborated on, and a NUNS insignia that I did the line work for and Seto Kaiba here colored. Oh, and a couple airlines I'm working on for my 757 profiles, and a couple squadron tail markings. The palm tree on the Saudia one needs to be redone. It was at a lower-res and I could get away with a simple design there before. Quote

maximilian_jenius Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 some one could make both ravens patch? (VFX and VFX-2) Quote

Talos Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 I am so loving the Angel Birds shield and the text graphics . Are you going to post those as well? Sure, I can post them. They're really old and rough, not to mention VF-4-specific, but here they are. (And yes, I realize I forgot the crossbar in the "A" in Angel ) Quote

Talos Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Sweet thanks. Were these vectors? Everything in both of those two was vector lines done in MS Publisher, then imported into GIMP, minus the badge base, which was taken from a USAF badge. I could have redrawn it in vector, but it was faster that way. Quote
valhary Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 this is my personal insignia for my thunder hammer i hope you like it Quote
Mr March Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Not much for logos. But I did have to make an SMS Skull logo in order to properly complete the VF-25S Top View Schematic. Here is that logo. Quote

Wasabi-san Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Questions regarding the color differences between the kite emblems. The valks all have the white-on-red kites, while the destroid's have red-on-white kites. Are they specific to the two different mech types/assignments, or Macross vs. Earth-based, or is it like the UN SPACY (which way is up depending on manufacturer) logo on the GU-11's? Over the years, I've encountered both types of decal/stickers and box art differences, and can't read Japanese to translate the VF-1 Master File book where it's described. Help please? Quote
Zinjo Posted May 8, 2012 Posted May 8, 2012 I forgot this thread existed. Here's a few more recent ones: VF-11 Fighter Patches YF-29 Fighter Patch Quote

Chthonic Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 These are kinda old- If I recall I got them from an old Japanese site a LONG time ago - Quote
Mr March Posted May 20, 2012 Posted May 20, 2012 I forgot this thread existed. Here's a few more recent ones: VF-11 Fighter Patches YF-29 Fighter Patch Damn, I missed this. Those are great logos Zinjab (miss me?) Seriously, fine work. I love them all, but I'm particularly fond of the hammer logo. Quote
Zinjo Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 (edited) Nice to hear from you again Marchy March. Thanks. That hammer logo for the VF-11 is very popular compared to the others, particularly on Pixiv... Though the YF-29 is one of the most popular to the Japanese it seems... These are kinda old- If I recall I got them from an old Japanese site a LONG time ago - Very NICE! These remind me of the dvelopment logos you see, like the F-35 Lightning and such. Do you have them in a higher resolution? Edited May 22, 2012 by Zinjo Quote
Talos Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 (edited) My favorite so far. Thanks, coronadlux, it's always nice seeing my old stuff still being enjoyed. I haven't done anything Macross-related in a while, but I happened to have done a lot of Battlestar Galactica insignia over the past couple days, in conjunction with a Viper profile I've been plugging away on. These are a couple of them. EDIT: And of course I forgot that a while ago I drew up one of the tribal team markings from Macross the Ride. I forgot which one it is, though, it's been a while since I did it. Edited May 28, 2012 by Talos Quote
Kaldar5 Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 I'm needing a DYRL '84 movie logo in a nicer resolution than this for a project: It's on one of the DYRL DVD booklets evidently. Any other sources? Quote
infosys_ms Posted February 25, 2013 Posted February 25, 2013 I has a blerb about the logo in my topic. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=37817 Quote
Deadeye_281 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 (edited) Anyone have a high res shot of Roy Focker's Skull crest from Mac Zero? Looking for a suitable template for airbrushing. I should have mentioned that I'm looking for his helmet crest with lightning bolt. Edited May 30, 2013 by Deadeye_281 Quote
Zinjo Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 (edited) Very Nice!! Do you have a reference showing this as the actual flight patch? Edited May 30, 2013 by Zinjo Quote
Mr March Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Agreed. Official or not, this is top notch work. It looks professional! Well done. Quote
valhary Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 thanks always I thought that bird in the original looks more like a parrot than an eagle Quote
