Dobber Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 I'm thinking this is looking good as well....but I have been fooled by trailers before. Chris Quote
DuelGundam2099 Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Well I know one of the first movies I am watching next year is going to be. Quote
electric indigo Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Clear some shelf space for the new ED-209. Quote
GU-11 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Why do I keep thinking of crab cakes whenever I look at the new ED? Just a tad over-designed, IMO. That said, if Neca made one the same size of their original ED-209, I'd buy one to place beside it. Quote
electric indigo Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Here we go http://www.taghobby.com/1-0/1-1/threezero-16-robocop-ed-209/ Quote
GU-11 Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 Maybe it's just the angle in which it was photographed, but it actually looks...adorable. Quote
wm cheng Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Will it be a toy or a model kit? I'd buy that for a dollar! Quote
electric indigo Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 More toys: ROBOCOP Real Figure Collection (Gashapon?) ED, Robocops & a Cylon Quote
CePeAi Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Don't like the look of the new designs especially ED-209. Gimme the classic look anytime. Said that most of the reimagined designs tend to be weaker, IMHO. Quote
anime52k8 Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Will it be a toy or a model kit? I'd buy that for a dollar! It's from threezero so it'll be a toy, it'll be very big, and very expensive. Maybe it's just the angle in which it was photographed, but it actually looks...adorable. The original ED-209 was always adorable looking. The new one needs to lookd adorable too in order to a be a worthy update. Quote
Gaijin Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 I'm used to the new designs already. Only thing I don't like is his red visor. Cops should be blue. Quote
captain america Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 To be fair, Robocop's 1.0 body armor motif looks pretty good. According to the gashapopn ad above, there's a 1.0 and 3.0 styling and so the obvious question is... What does the 2.0 version look like? Wait, wait. I got this... ... ... The designers momentarily consider an all-gold titanium body armor motif! :lol Quote
Hikuro Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Damn I'm serious, how does Asylum Films get away with this stuff? Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 LOL, what the actual f#ck! Seriously, that was so horrible that now I'm REALLY and TRULY looking forward to Robocop. -b. Quote
areaseven Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Damn I'm serious, how does Asylum Films get away with this stuff? Not surprised, as this has happened with the real RoboCop back in the '80s. Quote
Guest davidwhangchoi Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 lol i saw your post on youtube as well. the comments section is most enjoyable. quote: "it reminds me of Robocop but i'm not sure." Quote
Hikuro Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Not surprised, as this has happened with the real RoboCop back in the '80s. God.......I remember that. but honestly I never tied that to being Robocop. Not like Mac n Me was a dumbed down ET variant. Or Atlantic Rim is clearly a knock off of Pacific Rim, etc etc. Quote

electric indigo Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 It looks good for a few seconds until the really bad music starts. Quote
wm cheng Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 YES! Really cheesy guitars... (not like Pacific Rim's guitar rift) Quote
CoryHolmes Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 I like the faster action. And given that he's a cyborg (right?) it makes sense that guns akimbo would actually be useful here. Quote
Hikuro Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 ...................Well, music ruined it pretty quickly. Quote
Jefuemon Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 Why isn't anyone aiming for than unarmored hand? Quote
Kanedas Bike Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 It looks like in addition to the 3A ED-209 they are also producing a line of actual RoboCop figures; http://www.taghobby.com/1-0/1-3/threezero-%E9%96%8B%E7%99%BC%E4%B8%AD-action-figure-robocop-2014%E9%9B%BB%E5%BD%B1%E7%89%88-robocop/ Add those to the Square Enix Play Arts line and other toy makers there will be a crap ton of merchandise for this movie (but yet we can't get any decent Jaegers from Pacific Rim in toy form ). -b. Quote
wm cheng Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 ...but yet we can't get any decent Jaegers from Pacific Rim in toy form ). -b. Exactly what I've been thinking!!! Quote
azrael Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 It's gonna be one of those unlimited-ammo movies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfS1ANhIXhQ Quote
electric indigo Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 They're really trying hard to fail. Why not just make a FPS of it in the first place? Also, the Black Dude is a whimp WTF?! Quote
Greyryder Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I'm glad to see that ED 209 remains completely useless. Quote
mikeszekely Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Bah. The awesome thing about ED-209 was that it was so over-powered, with a ridiculous design flaw. Robocop shouldn't be able to stand up to one, let alone several, unless he's on the stairs. Meh, I'll still probably watch it. Looks like a cheesy popcorn action flick, but there was never any chance that it was going to be the classic that the original was. On that note, how come no one's making a video game for this (short of the iPhone game)? The material seems prime for a passably-entertaining shooter. Quote
Guest davidwhangchoi Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 here's a neat vid on ed-209 Quote
areaseven Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Did any of our fellow MWers in Malaysia and Singapore watch this movie yet, as it premiered there last Thursday? Quote
