Draykov Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 (edited) I'm probably gonna get in trouble for posting semi-redundant Yamato 1/48 fan-boy polls, but with the VF-1J Hikaru practically here, I can't help but wonder what's next for the Yamato VF-1 line in 1/48. If you were to bet money on one of the choices above, what would you place your chips on? If you vote other, please add your speculative choice in the form of a post. mister_e Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 I think it's a pretty easy guess that the next will be M&M 1J's and they will most likely be offered in both the FP and non-FP flavors just like the Hikaru 1J. Quote
Pat Payne Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 C'mon...you know they've gotta do a M&M no matter what Quote
Godzilla Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 Damn straight! M&M. That is what they did with the 1/60s. Quote
Beware of Blast Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 The GBP Armors for the VF1J! Or The Thunder Hummer VF1S! Quote
Draykov Posted November 25, 2003 Author Posted November 25, 2003 I think it's a pretty easy guess that the next will be M&M 1J's and they will most likely be offered in both the FP and non-FP flavors just like the Hikaru 1J. That would be my guess as well. Some have suggested they'll bundle the two together, but Yamato is box crazy as it is. They'd end up packaging them in something like this: Quote
Draykov Posted November 25, 2003 Author Posted November 25, 2003 M&M just makes total financial sense. Milk those molds, baby! Quote
UN Spacy Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 They'd end up packaging them in something like this: That looks like a balikbayan box (where's my kababayans?)! I'm also gonna vote for the Max and Miria VF-1J's. Quote
Anubis Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 Max and Millia. the CF either right behind or before them. Not sure yet. Suffice to say, I want my CF. Quote
Smut Peddler Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 I'd have to go with the Max & Millia VF-1J's. Quote
Weaseldancer Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 I'm betting on a Max and Millia 1J. We know how Yamato loves to milk those molds. Quote
EXO Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 ...and it's M&M leading the stretch!!! I hope Yamato doesn't make 1D, VT and the VE some kind of holy grail like Bandai did... build it!!! Quote
Draykov Posted November 25, 2003 Author Posted November 25, 2003 (edited) I hope Yamato doesn't make 1D, VT and the VE some kind of holy grail like Bandai did...build it!!! I don't get it. You don't want to buy them or you don't want to be tempted to buy them? What if they did wide releases? I don't know how likely it is that they'll do a VE-1 or VT-1, but I'd wager if they do one they'll do the other. Edited November 25, 2003 by Draykov Quote
Chowser Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 I'm already ready to fork down the $$$ for a set of Super M&Ms! Quote
Weaseldancer Posted November 25, 2003 Posted November 25, 2003 I just hope they space them out a bit to give my wallet a chance to recover. Quote
Draykov Posted November 25, 2003 Author Posted November 25, 2003 I just hope they space them out a bit to give my wallet a chance to recover. I'm with you. I'm wondering if the 1/60 Q-Rau and Monster won't come out prior to another 1/48 release. I suppose I wouldn't be too surprised either way. The Hikaru 1S and the low-vis 1A came out of nowhere as far as I'm concerned. Since then, I've learned to expect the unexpected. Quote

These are probably the only ones I really want from Yamato... I could really care less if they skip the others on that poll. But I think the M&Ms are a shoe in to be next... gotta go... need to build a closet... Quote

Maybe I'm being thick here, but when you say "these are probably the only ones..." are you referring to Max/Miria? And is the "build it" thing due to your distaste for funky heads and "the VT-1 shouldn't transform" mindset? Edited November 25, 2003 by Draykov Quote

I didn't buy the 1/60 version, not because I was holding out for a 1/48 but because I thought it looked like ***. If they 1/48 it up, I'll be there. Quote
NoSuchFile Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 I voted for the M&M, since Yamato is in this buisness for $ and those 2 always pay off big time, but I would have prefered the truth to be, NO MORE VF-1'S! <_< Quote
Draykov Posted November 26, 2003 Author Posted November 26, 2003 I think he meands the 1D, the VT and the VE. Why would he hope Yamato doesn't make them if they're the ones he really wants? I think I get the fact that EXO wants model quality or nothing for the VE/VT, but I'm not sure I understand why he'd have anything to do with the line as a whole if that were the case. Quote

Nonon, he doesn't want Yamato to pull a Bandai and make them in tiny little production runs. He wants lots and lots so he's guaranteed to get his. Quote
Batou Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 I'll go along with the crowd and say they'll put the M&M set out so they can milk the new molds for all they're worth, including some spiffy new color coordinated tv-type fast packs. They'll be undeniably gorgeous, but I think I'll pass - I already have this set in 1/60 and I'm starting to run out of space to keep all this stuff. Maybe I'll break down and get the Millia. We'll see. So where's the new 19 already? Quote
rocco_77 Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 I guess I'm alone in voting for the Kakizaki varient... I just would like to see that one made on one time.. And a 1/48 one would be cool... The entire Skull Squad. Eh... whata ya gonna do. Quote
TheFrenchOne Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 M&M 1J with and w/out FP (like hikaru's 1J). The problem will be to make room for them (3 FP box + 5 and soon 7 1/48 box ) ... will have to get ride of the Toynami's, so sad Quote

The issue isn't that he doesn't want them, it's that he doesn't want them to be made as a holy grail item...got it. Quote
VF-1Guy Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 I'm sure the M&M will come next. I'll be skipping them though. I think I'm done with 1/48 line once I get the Hikaru J FP version. Unless they make a VT-1 or VF-1D. Quote
Aegis! Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 The obvious choice...M&M But I personally hope for another Limited ED release with an alternative colour scheme. Quote
Neova Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 (edited) The GBP Armors for the VF1J! Or The Thunder Hummer VF1S! If Yamato is working on these, then I am officially staying in HK until I get mine! But it will probably be M&M versions next. Edited November 26, 2003 by Neova Quote
Skull 001 Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 We will probabaly see the Max 1S just because it is a simple head swap from what they already have. We will most likely see M&M next. What I want most is the Max TV 1A though. Quote
TheLoneWolf Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 Definitely the M&M's! Two years ago, I would've said the VF-1A Cannon Fodder, but given the low 1/60 and 1/55 CF sales (as reported), I don't think Yamato is going to mess with the CF anytime soon. Quote
Isamu Atreides 86 Posted November 26, 2003 Posted November 26, 2003 i wanna say M&M's, but a Max-1s would kick ass, too. i doubt that will happen, though. Quote
