Howdy where i can watch or dowload Macross Zero and Frontier on HD with english subtitles and dowload Macross The First translated thanks.

Typically that information isn't freely shared here due to various rules.. as technically doing so is of a borderline legality( (regardless of how many of us do it). However there are enough resources that finding them isn't that difficult. Various fansub groups have taken the task for Zero and Frontier, so a simple google search should work out well enough.

As for Macross the First... good luck. Scanlations and such do exist but only for the first few chapters really, and have not kept up with the release of later ones last I checked (though.. the actual releases have not been that regular from what I hear).

I don't think it was, really none of the humans overtaken by the Protodevlin themselves (just Gigil and Gepelnitch really) got named or.. likely.. survived (well Gepelnitch's human form seems to have merged with him).

Can't answer that, it's against the rules to link to (or ask for links to) pirated material.

Please support the original creators whenever possible.

Twice, that I can recall... both in the Macross 7 PLUS short "Spiritia Dreaming".

The first enemy soldier captured in the main Macross 7 series, Irina Hayakawa, refers to him by name in the short.  He's Captain [Autolmauer/Otorumawa].  I'm undecided how to actually spell that name, since it doesn't seem to conform to any known existing surname I can find.  It's spelled オートルマウワー, which suggests the former at least.

I've translated it as: Autre Mauer

Mauer is a legitimate non-Japanese surname (the only one I could find in the kana used for that character's name!), and Autre being a French term for 'another' or 'different'.  Which turns the name into a kind of a pun (I'm fairly confident that was the original intent, as it happens occasionally with Macross character names.)

That said, Autol is an interesting alternative - changes the pun into a Spannish place name, mind you.

Actually, we don't have an official policy regarding pirated material. However, we have an agreement not to post not to any links or full scans of currently in-print material or works which are readily available (Youtube, iTunes, Google Play, Netflix, Amazon/Amazon Japan/Ami-Ami/online stores, etc.). Considering A LOT of material can be easily obtained through online stores, legal sources, spending a few moments on Google, a good torrent search engine, or /r/ on your favorite web-board, asking us here should be the absolute, dead-last, I-have-nowhere-to-turn-to, you-have-to-be-desperate-enough-to-sell-EVERY-organ (functioning or not)-option.

Additionally, our namesake's benefactors know of our existence and we really don't want to piss off our namesake's benefactors considering they've been gracious enough to give us official English subtitles on their last couple of works.

Duly noted... I looked at that name and went "Wha...?".  Mauer, I figured, was a sane surname, but I wasn't getting any joy with Autol/Outoru on Wikipedia or Google.  (At one point I considered it might be a bizarre effort at "Otto Mauer" or something like that, since Macross 7 did have a fair bit of "Engrish as she is spoke" kicking around the background, and would fit with Mauer being a Polish/German surname.  The only other thing that kept coming to mind was "But he doesn't look like tuna meat...".)

I always see where the VF-4G made its appearance once in a particular side profile clip....but no one ever mentions the desk model of the lightning sitting there when Lisa walks in on Rick/Minmay hookin up....plus it has a blue paint scheme....

Actually, while both of the model aircraft Hikaru is shown with are the same aircraft, neither of them is a VF-4G.

They're both the VF-X-4 prototype... the design of the production VF-4 Lightning III wasn't finalized until about three years after Macross: Do You Remember Love?, and debuted in Macross: Flashback 2012 in 1987.  The production VF-4 didn't exist in-universe at that point in time either, the design wasn't finalized and approved for mass production until after the First Space War ended.  (The VF-4G came along even later, being a later variant of the VF-4 that first appeared in the video games of the late 90's and early 2000's.)

Nobody really mentions that models in Hikaru's quarters in DYRL? because they're kind of a blink-and-you'll-miss-it thing, like the XB-70 Valkyrie model in the foreground.

Thanks Sketchley, I was hoping you'd chime in on this.  Well if we are going to translate words, Mauer if German for "wall".  So a direct English translation for both terms would be "Other Wall"  :p  I wondered too if the intent was Otto Mauer a more Germanic name.  Ivano Gunther became Geperunicchi the leader of the PD, so you get the sense that Varuata had a contingent of German heritage in their ranks.

It'd make a certain amount of sense if they did, given that the Varauta Army got its start with the Nazi Germany-inspired transformable fighters with suspiciously Germanic-sounding names developed for the villain faction in Air Cavalry Chronicles (the ZaiBach Empire, who went on to be the baddies in The Vision of Escaflowne.)  The designs even came with insignia that look suspiciously swastika-like.

The fighters the Blue Rhinoceros Spec Ops unit use are even made by a company that's a reference to Messerschmitt.

Here's a question: did the VF-31 Master File show a high-speed mode or a storage mode for the fighter?

Not sure if this page from the MF -31 book specifically refers to how they are stored....but it would seem the wings fold?

Although I have the Bandai toys...I have yet to remove them from their boxes....can the toy wings do this wing folding move?

Yes, because it is part of the transformation. The wings fold up for battroid mode.

Additionally, you don't need master file to confirm it does this for high speed maneuvers, Messer does it in episode 1.

So question for a project of mine: Where would I find a decent image of the combat uniform for foot troops in the macross universe?

Tried a google image search and was getting mostly naval uniforms. That is if the army still exist in macross.

The (New) UN Army does still exist... but they're kind of a rear-echelon security sort of affair, since VFs are the default currency in an era where the most common enemy faced are 10m tall giants.  (They're the poor sods with the Beatrice tanks in Frontier, which do precisely bugger-all against the Vajra.)

Macross Chronicle has some images of the New UN Army soldiers seen in Macross Frontier, like the mooks who were part of Sheryl's escort and who tried (and possibly failed) to gun down Grace O'Connor near the end of the series.  There's some line art in a few of the art books too, particularly the ones for the movies.  Barring the cutouts for cat ears, the troops on Voldor in the Macross Δ series are wearing the exact same uniform as the ones in Macross Frontier.  sketchley has a partial pic at the bottom of this page that shows the standard New UN Army mook with their H&K G36 rifle knockoffs.  (There may also be pics in the back of the Tenjin Hidetaka third Macross artbook.)

@Seto Kaiba- Thanks, I was planning a rewatch of Delta so I'll pay more attention to the Voldor mission eps.

Found an image of them... might have to do a head swap but it looks like this will be easier then I thought.

Do we have any hard data on Gerwalk mode thrust devices?  I see what looks like it could be some form of engine exhaust right to the outboard side of both legs but I'm not sure what it's supposed to be.  Here's an image to better illustrate.

Do you guys suppose the UN recovered that wrecked Zentradi ship they shot with Reaction Weapons?

They wrecked more than a few that way, but I'd expect if they did go back for them they probably did it well after the war ended... so they could recycle them for materials to build their emigrant fleets.

For the VF-31?  Nope.

Sorry, rushed post.  Yep, for the VF-31 is exactly what I meant.

We had tiny nozzles on the VF-25, so if that's what these are on the 31, they're positively huge in comparison!

Did'n know where to ask this, so I'm dropping it here:

What happened with the printed vertion of Macross the First?

Also the post here seems to vanished.

Thanks for the answers, jenius/VF5SS.

I asked this in the model thread as well and Chronocidal pointed me the way of the DX VF-31 thread, but while I'm scouring all 200 pages or so, I'll ask here, too:

Is there a head comparison of the various -31s at all? I'm thinking about picking another one of these up and debating between the various kit releases - regular J/C/F/S, J-Kai, or Super J. The itasha decals that come with the J-Kai don't interest me that much (though the paint scheme is nice), and I'm on the fence about the Super packs, though I suppose if I do want one I can just pick up the add-on kit.

But yeah, a head comparison would be greatly appreciated, since that's the major difference between the different models. I'm leaning toward getting the F and shaving the horn, but I still don't have a great idea how the heads looks aside from the J's.

It does, thanks, but I was hoping for something a bit higher resolution, or more focused on the heads in particular, preferably from different angles. Maybe design sketches, the Master File, or something. I'd check the animation again but they rarely went into battroid mode anyway, and whenever they did usually the only one to get a good shot of its face was the J. Oh well. I got what I needed, thanks again.
