Tober
I've only had the shoulder popped off once, and after that i managed to transform it somehow without that happening again. Also don't have any joint issues so I love mine. Lucky bugger. Have you kept it posed in battroid or fighter?
boyarque
Lucky bugger. Have you kept it posed in battroid or fighter? Mine have gone through a few transformation cycle, and so far holding quite well. But it is currently in Battroid mode for more than a month now, maybe this weekend I'm gonna play around with it and see how it fares....
Rabidweezil
I've never had a toy make me so angry before as the YF-29, that it made me want to throw it full force against the wall and then stomp up and down on it. Graham I just felt the same way when I was packing my VF-22 Millia for moving. I got so sick of the legs not tucking away easily and popping off during the transformation process I decided I am going to sell it. raptormesh
Lucky bugger. Have you kept it posed in battroid or fighter? Since I got it(pre-ordered), it's been in battroid half the time, and fighter the other. Roughly half a dozen full cycle transformations now. When I posed it in Battroid mode I didn't use any stands though.

Lynk
When I first saw the YF-29, I thought its battroid mode looked like some kind of monstrous jumbled mess with a very back-end heavy Gerwalk mode... I only ever really liked it for the fighter mode and bought this as a preview of the quality I should be expecting for the Messiah version 2 line since I'm going to be buying all variants that come out for that... I've only put mine through one transformation cycle and now it's being kept in fighter mode... I think I'll let it stay that way after all this talk recently lol... biggooftoybox
I recently got a friend to help me look for the YF-29 in HongKong but he's telling me its super rare and costs like USD$300+??? Anyone know if Bandai has intentions to release another batch or if there is a better way to get it?
aurance
Just transformed it last night after leaving it for, oh, about a month? Seems solid enough.
pud333
Interesting. I only transformed my 29 a couple times before realizing it did nothing for me so I sold it. made more than I paid for it even with shipping Edited October 21, 2011 by pud333
Graham
Mine still does nothing for me. Really not into the design and the fuggin' shoulder armour still pisses me off. See if I like it more after watching the movie. If not, may sell mine. Graham
anime52k8
I'd say I was interested but I can't afford anything with the VF-19S coming next month. Every time I see a picture of it I like the design more and more even if the toy has problems. I wish I had picked this one up when it was sort of not crazy expensive and I had some money to spend. Omegablue
I gather as this is the YF-29, and since I've yet to watch the Frontier films, is there a VF-29??? Yeah, really hopeful this gets remade in a military scheme...
regult
It doesn't get enough/too much screen time, depending on your preferences. I personally would have liked more VF-25... I've never had a toy make me so angry before as the YF-29, that it made me want to throw it full force against the wall and then stomp up and down on it. Graham and then you plan on selling it?? Kyp Durron
Nah, still doesn't do enough for me to want to buy it, I'd rather spend the money on another VF-25, or another VF-1 variant, to be honest. -Kyp
Chronocidal
It's a fancy plane no doubt, but I don't care much for the battroid. I got plenty of satisfaction out of the 1/100 kits, since I can paint them up any way I like. I do like the fighter, and while I'd like a bigger one, I don't mind having a few small ones for a few bucks each.
Swoosh
VF-25 is much more user friendly then this, all the gimmicks on this make it more difficult to transform, even the transformation are 90% the same. And VF-25 has better side profile than the YF-29: iPhone pics with poor lighting:

ff95gj
My VF-25F v2 is nice and all, while my YF-29 can't hold his crotch and arms in position. And he collapses everytime the crotch can't lock. I am not sure if I have a bad unit or what, but there it is.
Isamu Dyson
See if I like it more after watching the movie. If not, may sell mine. Graham I never really had any love for the design of the YF-29 when it first made a public appearance. Ordered 2 of them just for the sake that it is a sister plane of the YF-19. But you hit the nail of the head about watching the movie for me. I just watched the movie and I absolutely love this toy even more now. I'm so thankful I didn't make a pass at it after watching the film. It's a valkyrie that needs to be seen in motion for you to fall in love with. Maybe not right away but it starts to grow on you after a few viewings. Now anxiously waiting on those fast packs??? Isamu Dyson
I want one! Seriously. For those who haven't watched the movie yet - Don't. You'll just want one so badly. I'm surprised that Bandai didn't produce enough for most fans to even get one - Business 101 - supply and demand. I'm not surprised that the value of this particular valkyrie is around the 350 mark given the rarity and no news of a reissue. If I didn't own a YF-29 after watching the movie, I would definitely be stupid enough to possibly pay that amount or more. Can't get rid of that song in my head as I look at my YF-29 - Varukuriaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Without spoiling anything all I can say is when the YF-29 appears that whole entire scene is just simply EPIC. Despite the loose joints or parts who could resist not having one to display or play while singing, ahem...
