So I plan on purchasing a resin kit; the tatsuhobby recast of the Dimension Diver Samus. (look up Dimension Diver Samus for pics.)

As I have never put together a resin kit, some pointers for getting started would be helpful. However, what I may end up doing is just paying someone to assemble the kit as this will probably be the only resin kit I EVER get, so the knowledge is kinda pointless.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I can't give you much help with the kit other than to recommend Googling resin kit advice.

Just thought I'd point out that there is a strong rumor that Samus will be an upcoming Revoltech figure, if that is more your thing. link :)

Build resin kits is not so different to plastic model kits. Resin parts can be fixed with CA glue, I recomment to put pins to assure more resistance. For painting, you need to sand all the surface, especially if the parts are glossy.

Good luck!

Resin kits vary in quality much more than plastic ones. A GOOD resin kit is quite similar to plastic, only you have to use CA to glue it. A bad resin kit can be a nightmare. The quality can vary so much that some recasts are a lot better than many originals...

PS--I am referring to raw quality of the resin itself, not the fit/detail. Some resin kits are more like a pile of airholes and release agent held together by a resin sheath...
