electric indigo Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Ok this toy has a long story with license issues (so it went under the name "Future Car"), but it seems they are kinda sorted out now, and fans will finally get their official 1/18 scale Blade Runner Spinner Police Car. Oh, and it comes bundled with some Blu-ray discs... http://www.hlj.com/product/MEDMAV-83830 Quote
EXO Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 The design on that prop car is so good that it still looks like it's from the future and not dated at all. Same for the guns. Hell, even the hair on the actors don't look so 80's. (Linda Hailton's hair in Termintor... lol) Quote

Penguin Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 I picked that up back when it was released as a "future car" from "Back to the Future 2". I always thought about doing the work to make it a full Blade Runner spinner, but never got around to it. Now I won't have to. Laziness pays off again! Quote
Mr March Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 That is a good looking version of the Spinner. Very impressive. Quote
electric indigo Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 Here's a shot of the "Future Car" version: Proportion and surface detail is excellent. The interior is a bit simple, so modders can go all out there. Doors open, and you can change the front wheels and covers from flying to driving configuration. Quote
PetarB Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Always loved the design of this. And you get some bonus bluray disk as well eh? Quote
Major Focker Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 i would've picked this up in a heartbeat had i not already gotten the BR ultimate edition (the one that came with a smaller spinner, something like 5 versions of the film, and came in a faux suitcase). so now i'm really struggling to justify getting this new release, what with the strong yen and all, and BD generally higher priced in Japan. is this a Japan only release or might it find it's way to Amazon US? if it does, hopefully it'll be priced more similarly to the Watchmen release that came with the Owl ship replica (~$100 or so) Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 Off topic, I have to admit Decker's handgun is the best design ever. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted November 10, 2010 Posted November 10, 2010 I always thought that getting the whole suitcase just for the little spinner wasn't worth it, so I'm so getting this. Which would be a good place to buy it from shipped to LA price-wise? Also if the whole licensing nightmare is finally sorted out, maybe we'll be seeing the ultimate 1/6 version soon. Shivers! Quote
