Zinjo Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 (edited) Small update - canards and stabilizers now finished My sweet Lord!! That is epic! Dude you have to share some Hires renders with the group. I particularly love the gold tinted metallic texturing. Whether that's lighting or the actual texture it looks amazing. Wow! Rodavan Posted February 28, 2011 Author Posted February 28, 2011 (edited) Thx Zinjo and Mr March When I am finished I will create some hi-res renders updates - redid the area betwetheen the leg and "shield" also finished the air intake under the "chest" The shader is called "oily metal" , but I get some interesting results , as I havn't done any texture yet , so it will have to do .. for now Edited February 28, 2011 by Rodavan Quote

Rodavan Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 Zinjo -- Would like do do "bare" metal render .... Quote
Zinjo Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Zinjo -- Would like do do "bare" metal render .... "Bare Metal" is a term describing fighters with no paint. All the various metals and composite materials are seen on the aircraft. The first F-15 Strike Eagle fighters had a "bare metal" finish. Now they are painted like every other aircraft. Here is an example of a bare metal fighter. A Japanese kit builder made this custom YF-24 from a VF-25 model kit, and gave it a "bare metal" finish: I hope this clears things up... Quote

Rodavan Posted April 16, 2017 Author Posted April 16, 2017 Will think about it - I have a old Rapman 3.2 3D printer , but real world pressure has been bad last year so only did a tests . Maybe after Sep 2017 when most my real world projects finish . What printer do you use and what scale are you thinking off . I will need to tinker with this model of course Quote

It reminds me of a limited edition Doyusha 1/144 scale die-cast bronzed (platinum colored) YF-19 that I happen to have in my collection. See thread below: Quote
