thegunny Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 But Glaug Booster was in 1/100... it was a Samurai Monkey kit. It was still made by John wasn't it. The tachikoma is a Samurai Monkey kit and yet it's still made by John. Quote

PetarB Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 I thought it was for some reason. My apologies! Quote
Grayson72 Posted March 31, 2011 Posted March 31, 2011 Whatever happened to Rob and Samurai Monkey anyway? Quote
neptunesurvey Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Whatever happened to Rob and Samurai Monkey anyway? Good question. Quote
TheLoneWolf Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 Rob/Samurai Monkey is still around, though he doesn't post as much as he used to. His new screename is robokochan. Quote
Major Focker Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Take a look here: http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/mwat/john_moscato/_john_moscato.htm i saw this from that link above: when did captain make this? and what scale? more importantly, can i still get one? or is this one of the small ARII kits? the base looks awfully familiar... Quote
derex3592 Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 I can tell you that's NOT the ARII kit. I have one. That one is WAY cooler! The stand looks like the ARII however. Quote
ultimateone Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 (edited) Aaagghh! I really wish someone would hurry up and build the "Kaa - Tsai" and post lots of photos. Edited June 21, 2011 by ultimateone Quote

Actually, there IS an ARII kit under there, believe it or not, it was just heavily modified with Super Sculpey because the basic kit was, well... Not that great. When it was made: 1993 Scale: 1/15000 (approximate) Can you still get this: you could never get it, even back in the day: it was a one-off that's still in my display cabinet collecting space dust Quote
derex3592 Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I stand corrected Cap'n! Awesome mod on that. I have the 4 original ARII Zentradi ship kits that I built back around the mid 90's as well. Quote
Major Focker Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 fantastic work on that QQ! i can only hope that a bigger version is on your shortlist of future projects. perhaps 1/8000 to be in scale with one of the old SDF kits and the Britai flagship done by Scale Solutions. Quote
ahiachris Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Aaagghh! I really wish someone would hurry up and build the "Kaa - Tsai" and post lots of photos. "Kaa - Tsai" was already built by a fellow member PetarB. And lots of photos were posted in this forum. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=35333 Quote
pfunk Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Awesome work guys,,,, but this thread needs more Glaug. Has anyone started theirs yet? Quote
wm cheng Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 (edited) How could I have missed this thread! Thanks so much Captn! The first set is his amazing launch rail... (I don't think I ever posted the Booster ones as I'm really un-happy with the way the photos turned out - I just couldn't seem to get the right colours, colour balance & exposure). And the launch arm! Edited March 23, 2012 by wm cheng Quote
Valkyrie Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Great stuff! But actually, the launch arm was mastered by Gundamhead, if I remember correctly. Quote
wm cheng Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Oops sorry, so long ago... I guess I just lump all my resins to the great Captn' Quote
neptunesurvey Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 I love how you got the main thruster bells on the booster to get that blue heated metal look. I have tried getting that same affect but I have never been happy with the final product. What did you use to get that affect? Quote
wm cheng Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Tamiya clear blue and clear yellow lightly airbrushed over top of Alclad metalizers. Quote
Dobber Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Once again you remind us why you are the MASTER!! Beautiful as always...I remember that launch arm display too, fantastic work! Chris Quote
PetarB Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 I wonder what Mr Mos-cah-toh! will bring us Macross fans next? Quote

343sqn Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 These are my finished Moscato models... Gnerl is on the way! I was wondering... How exactly can a Zentran pilot get out of the Regult's cockpit? It looks like these guys must have developed serious contortionist skills, which of course would be hindered by their rather rigid uniforms. Quote

big F Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 This thread is awesome nothing like a collection of the Capts work all in one place. Â so Capt can we tempt you out of retirement ?........ Or maybe a Macross watch....... Quote
tekering Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 (edited) The booster, launch rail and launch arm would be a big hit in 1:60 scale...! ...or an even bigger hit at Hi-Metal R scale, come to think of it. Â Edited August 24, 2018 by tekering Quote
big F Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 In this age of 3D scanners and printers, how difficult would it be to scan a 1/72 one and make the adjustments for 1/60 and then print masters ? Quote
