captain america Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 (edited) I wonder when mine will come... It went out today, so roughly 2 weeks. Hopefully less. Oh, and here is the addendum on how to do the ship's antennae out of stretched sprue... Edited October 28, 2010 by captain america Quote
cool8or Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Wow Cap, that antennaes looks great!! Thanks for the addendum! Quote
captain america Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 My pleasure! As you can see, there's just no way that these ultra-fine antennae could have been cast successfully, and the procedure involved in doing them yourself is pretty easy and actually rather fun. The other reason that I chose that particular technique is that you can get really organic looking spines that are a perfect look for Zentradi ships. Prickly cucumbers are da best!! Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 (edited) Fun for sure! I can't wait for my kit to arrive! She's a-gonna be a-hand a-paintehd! Edited October 29, 2010 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote
codam23 Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 hey everyone i got mine yesterday. Cap it just a beautiful kit... Quote

I'll have to keep that on file for my old Imai kits as well. I've got some sprue left over from them, but have lost a couple of antennae over the years. Thanks, John! Quote
atoyer Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 Hi guys. I wanted to give notice that I'll be keeping the Quelamitz project open until November 1st, so for exactly 1 more week. After that, I'm shutting it down and will begin feasibility studies for the Legioss. So if you really want a Kozmic Kucumber, you've got a week to get your order in I would like to order one. I sent you a pm to get the info to send payment. I'm just waiting for a response. Quote
captain america Posted November 1, 2010 Author Posted November 1, 2010 I would like to order one. I sent you a pm to get the info to send payment. I'm just waiting for a response. Hi Atoyer. You'll forgive me if I respectfully decline to do business with someone whom I don't know and has but a single post to his tally. In this line of work, one survives by taking all possible precautions. Quote

Grayson72 Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 Got mine, awesome as usual, it's amazing how small the scout ship is in comparison. Quote
captain america Posted November 2, 2010 Author Posted November 2, 2010 Got mine, awesome as usual, it's amazing how small the scout ship is in comparison. Technically, even the Queramitz is small compared to other Zentradi ships, but I'm guessing that they might also be the workhorse of the fleet. In the series, it's the only ship with a main bow gun, thereby making it a heavy-hitter. Quote
Grayson72 Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 What's funny too is that the tiny scout ship is about 1.5 times the size of an aircraft carrier. Quote
neptunesurvey Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Mine just arrived. The building will soon begin. Here are some pics. Quote
baxojayz Posted November 4, 2010 Posted November 4, 2010 Mine arrived while I was on vacation. Thanks! Quote
peter Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Looks awesome, next project - 1/100 or 1/200 scale of spy ship from mission "Aoi Kaze" with minature Vf-1J to go with it. Quote
peter Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Bigger is better. Hell, what scale are those Revoltech Valks? Quote
ruskiiVFaussie Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 (edited) ^^^^^^^^^^^^ Laugh Out Loud... that is hardcore. It's hard enough to score similar size Zentran soldiers... Edited November 14, 2010 by ruskiiVFaussie Quote
neptunesurvey Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Here is my progress so far. Primed it yesterday and will paint the green tonight or tomorrow. Quote
captain america Posted November 23, 2010 Author Posted November 23, 2010 Here is my progress so far. Primed it yesterday and will paint the green tonight or tomorrow. Looking good! Did the sprue antennae pose much of an obstacle? Quote
Ghadrack Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 (edited) I've been fooling around making laser canons from sprues since you posted that little trick. Pretty awesome. ~Edit~ Yeah, I missed the great link in the initial post. Mine's in primer atm too but I needed some color inspiration. Looking at the Kamjin vaiant covered in moss/crud I wish I had bought a second, I may have to really scuzzy mine up, because, well, It's Kamjin Edited November 23, 2010 by Ghadrack Quote
neptunesurvey Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 Here is the green paint. I used Forest Green. The sprue antennae was no problem. The only problem was it has been a while since I used sprue like this so I had to get the feel again. I made a small pile so I have plenty to chose from. I have been thinking the same thing Ghadrack. I was thinking about trying it first on a 1/2500 Salan Scout. Quote
jardann Posted November 24, 2010 Posted November 24, 2010 (edited) Heh, you better not store that space cucumber in the pickle jar you have next to it. It might shrivel up into a scout ship! (lame joke I know but I couldn't resist! ) That color looks just right. Keep up the good work. It'll be great to see it completed. Edited November 24, 2010 by jardann Quote
