cool8or Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 (edited) Hello guys, I introduce to you my latest kit, the VF-19 Kai, a.k.a. Fire Valkyrie. This the 1/72 vynil kit from Wave. The pinup was extracted from the book VF-19 Master File. Painted with automotive acrylic paints. Shoulders are interchangeable, it have rare earth magnets. I hope do you like it! valkyriepm Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Amazing as always! Nice to see a fire valk too. Martin Quote
Noyhauser Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Very very nice... the subtle weathering really adds to the model. Did you fill the legs with Plaster or something else? Quote
cool8or Posted August 3, 2010 Author Posted August 3, 2010 Did you fill the legs with Plaster or something else? Ehhh.. nope. Quote
arielvfx Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Great building as ever, and nice model too! congrats Quote
big F Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Awesome as always cool8er, how did you do the shoulders. ? I have this kit and wanted to build it both ways. Quote
cool8or Posted August 4, 2010 Author Posted August 4, 2010 Hello Big F. Give me a couple days and I'll post pics of the shoulders. It's quite simple, you'll only need 2 magnets. Thanks to all for your words. Quote
Grayson72 Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Wow you just keep getting better and better, very impressed at your build rate too. Quote
Maiden Japan Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 It is nice to see this model that's actually built. This kit is discontinued and so hard to find. How's the paint staying on your model? I'm just worrying about that glossy coating. One problem about vinyl kit is that if you're not carefully washed the parts or didn't use proper type of paint, then the painted surface stays sticky. ae_productions Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 WOW! That looks awesome! Great paint scheme! That red really sticks out. Quote
big F Posted August 6, 2010 Posted August 6, 2010 It is nice to see this model that's actually built. This kit is discontinued and so hard to find. I think I have two of these One is on my to do pile which is about 30ish kits, and about ten years work at the speed I work at. Life just keeps getting in the way. Quote
cool8or Posted August 6, 2010 Author Posted August 6, 2010 From these series, I also have the VF-19S and the VF-17 battroids. I wish to be able to build it soon. Quote
big F Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 Me too the VF17 was the first kit I ever bought in Tokyo. Since then I got two more and the VF 19S Blaster. The Blaster is the harder to find one and I only have one so it wont get built unless I get a double. Although with prices well over $100 U.S that maybe never Quote
MechTech Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 I saw the title and thought and thought you stuck a sound chip in it or something All the same, ,the kit DOES look great! - MT Quote
PetarB Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Not a fan of the subject, but I do like your modelling skills! Well done! Quote
jardann Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Yeah, not my favorite valk, but the build and finish are top notch! Your work has become a highlight of MW. It's always great to see your projects. I know more of us would love to see some WIP from you too! The little details and the fantastic finish make it another great build. Well done!!! Quote
cool8or Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 Thanks guys. Jardann, I hope that tomorrow I could upload some pics of my Gnerl Build. Now that I finish the Kai, I'll have the time to follow that proyect. Quote
cool8or Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 Okay, these pictures shows the magnet system inside the shoulders. The magnets were purchased here: http://www.leevalley...x?p=42348&cat=3,42363 Quote
