khyronic
Simply looking for any info on an online(or any kind of really) guide for Robotech Invasion game. I really suck at games and was using a guide on http://www.robotechresearch.com/ but the domain has been (temporarily) removed. Any info would be hot. I've tried all the major sites I would usually find info(gamefaqs, ign etc) so I'm hoping there might some obscure site with details.

Seto Kaiba
Did you try Gamefaqs? --V I've tried all the major sites I would usually find info(gamefaqs, ign etc) so I'm hoping there might some obscure site with details. No such luck, I'm afraid... since all things Robotech tend to fly right under the general public's radar, and the Robotech: Invasion videogame was rather unpopular even among Robotech fans, it's unlikely that you'll find a decent walkthrough for the game on any mainstream gaming site. Your best bet is probably to dig up an archived copy of RobotechResearch's coverage using the Internet Wayback Machine and other sites like it to see what can be recovered that way. When I checked the Wayback machine, the most recent archival copy of the walkthroughs was made on 14 July 2008, and had complete walkthroughs for only the first seven missions of the game. khyronic
Thank You Seto. I'm only on Chapter 4, so that archive site will help me get further.
Vepariga
how do you get lost in Invasion anyway? where are you having trouble?
khyronic
It's not so much that I'm lost, it's that I am visually challenged...and this game, you must admit, is not the most user friendly...This guide has screen shots which help me figure out where I am and where I should be. Vepariga
ooh ok well hope you get thru it no dramas, Im one of the people that actually found some enjoyment in Invasion lol, sure its not great but hell, its not bad and its the only game where i can ride a 'cyclone'. khyronic
Thank you. Robotech Battlecry, though not great either, seems much better than this, so far. Cyclone riding is neat though akward...
jenius
I also got to a point in Invasion where it seemed I did everything that was asked of me but I wasn't getting to the next level so I just gave up.
Vepariga
yeah battlecry is the better game, and in Invasion the riding feels abit stiff lol, I havent played a Robotech game that was GOOD only Average lol. I think the main thing bout Invasion that i didnt like was its lack of actual music from the series, music gives it charm and it had none. EXO
not Macross.
Gui
Personnaly, I really prefered Invasion to Battlecry: the Macross setting of Battlecry was charming but the gameplay of the title was seriously lacking (do you believe me if I say I spent an entire day of my life on a single stage?); in Invasion, on the other hand, once you have done the first levels and you get to beat some invids, the manual lock made the game far more enjoyable to me – I didn't even need to take a look to some walkthroughs or to use cheats
terry the lone wolf
I beat Invasion but I did use the invicibility cheat. You kind of have to use it because those Invids attack you from all sides. Since I haven't played it in years I forgot how to play it. I just wish it wasn't such a poor Halo clone and kept the look of the animated series. taksraven
Doesn't this belong in the RT and HG share the hate thread?? Taksraven
JB0
(do you believe me if I say I spent an entire day of my life on a single stage?) Was it the Cat's Eye re-entry escort mission? Or the "defend the base until the evacuation timer runs out" mission? And I'm the guy that LIKED Battlecry.
Gui
No, it was the drowned city: all these pods appearing from below the water and all these narrow spaces were a pain in the ass... No room to maneuver and plenty of ennemies firing at me from everywhere at the same time I really enjoyed the game until this point, but I didn't use cheats until I encountered the mad female zentraedi in her power armor: the sky was far too low in this stage
Phyrox
Invasion was an...alright game, but that's mostly because I really like Mospeada/Next Gen., and it's pretty much all we've got. The game pretty much is on rails, so you'll almost never not be able to quickly discern where to go next, at least that was my experiance. One thing I didn't even know about the game 'till I played through it a second time is there are several possible endings/ending levels, depending on your actions in an earlier part. A nice touch for a quick "property" title I thought. The only really shitty part of the game I thought was the boss fight against that heavy invid mecha, where you gotta shoot him in the eye...? That was mighty frustrating. Battlecry...I really liked the visuals, and most of the gameplay, but the low ceiling really killed it.
Vepariga
when i think of Battlecry these days It makes me remember the times I used to go around my cousins house to play it and we would have long nights of multi-player battles on the projector screen. good times.
