anime52k8 Posted March 4, 2012 Posted March 4, 2012 Hmmm...I wonder what retailers will carry this beast...might actually consider purchasing it.... usually it's shops like Sideshow and BBTS. I'm sure there will be similar retailers that will carry it for other regions. Quote
GMANIFESS Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 (edited) Sold out on HLJ, Sideshow still has their preorders up. I couldn't pass up that flex-pay option. This thing is going right on my 1/48 shelf to stand in for the lack of Destroids in that scale. Edited March 12, 2012 by GMANIFESS Quote
wolfx Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 This thing is huge....i'm tempted to get it but i have no shelf space for it. Its the size of a small child! Not to mention the price. Quote
GU-11 Posted March 18, 2012 Posted March 18, 2012 Space always seems to be a problem with these things. Quote
GMANIFESS Posted April 27, 2012 Posted April 27, 2012 I'm glad they went with Rex first. The Ray design always looked goofy to me. Quote
BeyondTheGrave Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 first picture of MG RAY prototype: Are you getting one? Quote
anime52k8 Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Are you getting one? I don't know... It'll be so expensive, but so glorious. Quote
GU-11 Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 I plead lack of space, you honor. Besides, I'm only allowed on bank-breaking purchase a year. The one for 2012 has already been filled by HT's 1/60 Tumbler. Quote
Tober Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Yeah... RAY never really did it for me the way REX does... But, depending on budget, I will try to get it. Four more months till REX drops. Quote
anime52k8 Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 (edited) Four Six more months till REX drops. fixed that for you. :edit: anyways, here's a couple more pictures... Edited April 28, 2012 by anime52k8 Quote
Archer Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 It looks like they are using rubber for the feet of Ray, but it still seems that a stand is needed. No bother, I really like Ray over Rex. If I have the necessary "resources" before pre=order goes up, I'll consider a buy. Quote
anime52k8 Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 (edited) damn the lighting effects on rex are so cool... Edited April 28, 2012 by anime52k8 Quote
Archer Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 I wonder what they will do for Ray. The hydro cutter in the mouth probably wouldn't be too hard, as well as lighting the eyes and cockpit, but beyond that, I don't see much more potential. And does the hydro cutter even warrant an LED? lol Quote

kaiotheforsaken Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 I had to pass on Rex, but I really love Ray. If they knock it out of the park with the paint job on him I may have to find a way to get one. Hopefully there is some sufficient time to save for him. Quote
GMANIFESS Posted May 3, 2012 Posted May 3, 2012 (edited) I'm so glad Sideshow has a monthly payment plan. Otherwise there was no way i was dropping that much all at once for Rex. Edited May 3, 2012 by GMANIFESS Quote
BeyondTheGrave Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Thats a play arts kai. To which I say Square Enix you suck. Quote
CAIN MKII Posted November 24, 2012 Author Posted November 24, 2012 My 3A arrived and it's just amazing. Too bad an antenna is missing on the radar unit: Quote
Tober Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 My 3A arrived and it's just amazing. Too bad an antenna is missing on the radar unit: Nice. Contact customer service about the missing antenna, they will sort it out. Quote
UN_MARINE Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Nice. Contact customer service about the missing antenna, they will sort it out. The 2nd radome fin doesn't exist - 3A forgot about it, along with the camera assembly(?) in the middle of the torso. I'm pretty sure it was a mix-up with the "battle damaged" line art from MGS4 & the "pre-battle" line art. Quote

I'm pretty sure it was a mix-up with the "battle damaged" line art from MGS4 & the "pre-battle" line art. Yep, just read about it on the forums. Strange how they have been amazingly accurate for the most part, but neglected some smaller details from the original MGS. I'm still waiting for mine to ship. Quote
dizman Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 That is a thing of beauty Cain, congrats. Quote
xrentonx Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 This is the retail version, right? I think the Bambaland exclusive is still not yet shipped (I'm waiting on mine) Quote

Still sux That is a thing of beauty Cain, congrats. Thanks mate This is the retail version, right? I think the Bambaland exclusive is still not yet shipped (I'm waiting on mine) Yes it's the retail version. Quote
electric indigo Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Thanks for the photos, Cain. I hope to give my Kotobukiya Rex a similar appearance, only a little lighter on monetary and display space resources. Quote
CAIN MKII Posted November 26, 2012 Author Posted November 26, 2012 You're welcome indy. Yep, I too ordered the kit. It looks more accurate and easier to pose too. Will be a lot fun to paint too:) Quote
GU-11 Posted November 26, 2012 Posted November 26, 2012 About that Kotobukiya Rex kit, are the cammo patterns pre-tampoed/printed/painted, or do you have to mask and paint them yourself? I'm tempted to buy the kit, but I'm not sure I'm experienced enough to do those cammo patterns. So far, I've only done some tests on my AB and compressor set using scrap plastic. Quote
electric indigo Posted November 30, 2012 Posted November 30, 2012 Pics of the raw Kotobukiya Rex. Looks great already. Quote
electric indigo Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 New images of Ray: Full size here. Quote
Shadow Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Ray is alot bigger then I thought it would be. I like what I'm seeing though. Quote
Major Focker Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 that's the 3A version which is ~1/48(?) and not Kotobukiya which is 1/100 Quote
