jenius Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Is this a toy or a model? I'm hoping it's a toy since it's in the toy forum. Is it like a joke machine? 'cause it looks like a joke machine and that is friggin' awesome. Quote
eriku Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 It's supposed to be a toy, and there will also be a Nirvash and Gurren Lagann (sorry if I got the name wrong) in the line. Some drawings of all three and a fully painted sample of the Nirvash were shown a month or two ago, and the Nirvash is currently available for preorder at places like AmiAmi. I hope they turn out reasonably well because this line has me very excited. The Joke Machine was always and still is my favorite VF-1 toy. Quote
CF18 Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 It's a toy. First unit of this line is Nirvash from Eureka Seven: http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN961917 Also similar with the SDX Gundam line: http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN956961 http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN958556 Quote
Actar Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Oh my gosh, does this feature perfect transformation? (^.^ Looks so awesome, reminds me of the old jokemachines that I never did get a chance to own... Quote
Chronocidal Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 (edited) Well shoot.. I might have to get a dozen or so of these. I kinda hope that they paint up an Ozma version with a chibi SD skull marking. I'm thinking something like Yoko's skull hairpin. Btw.. is it wrong that I like this sculpt better than the DX? I mean.. sheesh.. even in SD form, I feel like this has better proportions. Edited April 30, 2010 by Chronocidal Quote
spacemanoeuvres Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 schweet! GL and the VF-25 are going on my b-day present wish list. Quote
Kelsain Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Dang, the hips look better than the DX! If they make an S model, I'm in. Unless it costs $80... Quote
Maiden Japan Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I like it but it's a bit pricey for 4500 yen. They should be released as a model kit. The price would've be 1000~1500 yen. Quote
m0n5t3r Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 i like em all! ...i just hope the transformation for the Nirvash and VF-25F won't be like the RD Nirvash Spec2 w/c is a PITA! i also hope GL will have his wings included. Quote
Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0 Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Hope it is perfect transformation, chances are I might like this more than it's bigger DX brother. Quote
raptormesh Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Very cute indeed. Will they offer web exclusive tornado add on packs for it? Quote
D' only Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Looks really good, much better than DX, but hard to imagine it's a PT. I'll be really glad if i'm wrong and it turn out to be PT. Quote
m0n5t3r Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 what's the size of the SDX figs? coz if these SD Infinity figs are just about the same size as the VF100s VF-25s, then i doubt it could be PT. lets just hope that it doesn't have too many swappable parts... the parts swapping for the RD Nirvash is a little annoying... the shcmpro Unicorn not too bad... not sure about the VF100s since i don't own one, but from what i've seen and read here, it seems really annoying to transform on a regular basis. Black Valkyrie Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 So I guess only VF-25 for the time being, no other VFs. Quote
Twoducks Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Already have the Nirvash on preorder and this one and Gurren Lagann can also consider themselves bought. Quote
Actar Posted May 2, 2010 Posted May 2, 2010 Here's the full ad, wonder what it says. (^.^) Actually, on the subject of the SD figures, I would really love to see a whole line of SD figures including more Macross Valks (Plus Valks Please) and perhaps other mecha like the Evangelion units. (Super Robot Wars designs perhaps?) Quote

(Super Robot Wars designs perhaps?) It says it'll have a 'special' kind of transformation (ie. not the same as animation). So far it appears that the head is to be swapped but it seems to suggest something like one head is for transformation while the other is for looks. Edited May 2, 2010 by Vifam7 Quote
ntsan Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 The SD head definitely won't fit in plane/gerwalk mode. Quote
Actar Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 (edited) The SD head definitely won't fit in plane/gerwalk mode. Actually, I personally doubt that the cockpit and nose cone will be able to fit in the body of the Battoid mode either... I do recall seeing a similar SD VF-25F that had to be completely disassembled, but I do believe that one was a resin-kit thing. Hopefully, aside from the head, there will be little or no part swapping. Edited May 3, 2010 by Actar Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 It looks like a different transformation for the crouch and legs. Quote
MyClone Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 Very cool. As others have said, a must buy. Thanks, --MyClone Quote
danth Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I can't wait to see how many parts must be swapped on this stupid thing. Quote
eriku Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I see no reason to assume there will be a lot of part swapping. The VF-25 transformation isn't that complicated, and this isn't aiming for an "anime-accurate" interpretation anyway so it's not going to rely on "correct" transformation. The SD proportions shouldn't be an issue because the VF-1 Joke Machine was SD and required no parts swapping. That said, I expect the head might have to be removed and repositioned because its so big. Quote
ff95gj Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I think I've read from somewhere that it's perfect-transformer - will confirm when I get home. Quote
Zinjo Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I'm getting one!!! It's about time someone revisited the "Joke Machine" toyline! Quote
QuinJester Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I think I've read from somewhere that it's perfect-transformer - will confirm when I get home. If that ends up being the case this will go straight from "hey, that's interesting" to "pre-order now". Quote
eriku Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 If that ends up being the case this will go straight from "hey, that's interesting" to "pre-order now". In case it's the latter, AmiAmi has it available for preorder now: http://www.amiami.jp/shop/?set=english&.../e_display.html Quote
