dreamweaver13 Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I feel bad for all those affected in the immediate vicinity, but MAN, I can't help but be awed at the sight of that lightning storm. it's so unreal. Cue mordor background music, indeed. Quote
Vepariga Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 great photos, that lightning is incredible! Quote
macross_fan99 Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Those are some amazing photos. Even among destruction there can be some beautiful scenery. Quote
Seto Kaiba Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Hmmm... so you can't just walk into Mordor, but you can get a nice connecting flight to there? Quote
Ghost Train Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 (edited) I've always respected Iceland. Consistently rated as having "the happiest" people in the world, and a UN Human Development Index in the top 3... and their chief economic exports of Björk and EVE Online. Those pictures are absolutely stunning... but according to what I heard on NPR, Reykjavik has been relatively unaffected by the volcano. The problem is that despite the volcano being situated in Iceland, the winds have taken the bulk of the mess to the European mainland lol (as you might already know). Gui Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 There is no reason to lol, dude, I can tell you: this volcano is a real pain in the ass for all companies involved in local freight traffic... After the financial crisis, that: we're cursed... Quote
Zor Primus Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Incredible display of Nature...how truly insignificant we are compared to that. Quote
MastaEgg Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 They should rename the country to "Ashland" Quote
