Nightbat
Already did a search on A7's infamous Anime reviews (unfortunatly, the old boards are still offline, problem is,..he had one review there of something I really liked) But couldn't find anything interesting any ideas for me? These are some I already have: A-ko, BGC, Steel Angel Kurumi, Nadesico, Macross & DYRL? (ofcourse), Mahoromatic, Noir, Appleseed, X/1999 (Movie), Escaflowne (movie), New Dominion Tank police, Akira now I'm looking for something less dark than Akira or X/1999, most enjoyable so far have been SA Kurumi and Mahoro, macross and BGC are a bit the "Inbetweens" So it better be "good story" or "good fun" or both (Ecchi is ok by me)
joke-machine
A couple I would recomend-- Perfect Blue: Super trippy mind games, pretty dark story. Neon Genesis Evangelion: Another intense plot driven action anime, one of the best ones ever made. Ninja Scroll: Fun action without too deep a plot. Doomed Megopolis: Another great horror/action flick with a real dark element that makes it messed up in sooo many ways.
Agent ONE
I recomend Macross... everything is good except for that 7 part.

treatment
ohhh, too many to suggest... well, here's some good ones. not so dark, but thoroughly enjoyable. in region-1, too. [*] Dai-Guard [*] Irresponsible Captain Tylor [*] Ranma 1/2 first season Oh, yeah. Mahoro r0x0r! J A Dare
So it better be "good story" Anything by Studio Ghibli...although I prefer their older stuff, e.g. Nausicaa, Laputa, Porco Rosso, etc. or "good fun" or both Tenchi Muyo OVAs! (Ecchi is ok by me) Sakura Diaries!
JRock
If you can stand Romantic Comedies, I reccomend Ai Yori Aoshi. Very entertaining. Heat Guy J's pretty good. If you like Ol Skool Anime, You gotta check out Aura Battler Dunbine (One of Tomino's creations with Miyatake designing the mechs). Licensed by Royalty's looking real sweet. Got the show on preorder myself.
Skippy438
I enjoyed Full Metal Panic alot. I've only seen one ep of Supersylph Yukikaze, but the visuals were great and it looked very promising.

BoBe-Patt
something that made me laugh is photon (I think it's as short as FLCL), and duel. A cool series to watch is rurouni kenshin.
Stampeed Valkyrie
Yea I would recommend FLCL as well and Rahxephon, Vandread, Full Metal Panic. Max Jenius
Akira(Strictly from an academic standpoint) Ghost in the Shell(Amazing, even today) Ninja Scroll(Great animation, classic tale) Inu-Yasha(Action, comedy, romance... good survey of genres) Cowboy BeBop(mmm... Faye) SDF: Macross(duh) Macross Plus(duh) Macross Zero(duh) Macross 7(I don't care what anyone says, I like it. So does a friend of mine that isn't even a Macross fan) Ranma½(Gets way cheesy... I like it a lot less than M7 if that says anything) Love Hina(Fan service.) Neon Genesis Evangelion(If you realize that it isn't about the giant robots, you'll be ok) Big O(If you realize that it IS about the giant robots, you'll be ok) Robotech(Watch it after you've seen the original SDF: Macross, interesting comparison) Mononoke Hime Naussica

[*] the altered individual discs (4 discs) [*] the collector's edition brick (2 discs) The individual discs ($24.95/disc), iirc, were the censored version, i.e. digital bikinis and stuff. I think the subtitles and the english-dub clashes/different on many levels, as reported by many sites before. The Collector's Edition, however, was the actual uncensored version and contains a better and different subtitle-track. It also does not contain any english-dubs. It's the better deal of the two since I got my copy long time ago for like $30. You might get it around between $30 - $40 on retail. ---treatment--
Commander McBride
Let me be another to reccomment Full Metal Panic. I'm up to the 3rd DVD< and loving it, I'm gonna go pick the 4th up today, I think.
