anime52k8 Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 No, I just don't like what they did with the VF-25 at all and I think her face looks strange. Quote
Keith Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 I gotta agree, the designs are terrible. Made Sheryl look like a dude with a terrible version of Nora's helmet, and the armor is "w-e-a-k." Quote
anime52k8 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 JESUS CHRIST WHAT HAPPENED TO HER SPINE!?!?! Quote

Made Sheryl look like a dude with a terrible version of Nora's helmet, and the armor is "w-e-a-k." I strongly disagree. I liked the artist maximalism and his approach to portrait a more high tech looking version of the Messiah, as well as his choice of the SV-51 helmet with Mayan markings for Sheryl... That's by far my favorite helmet design from the Macross series. Quote

anime52k8 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 IMO it doesn’t look like a more high tech looking version of the VF-25, it looks like a melting VF-25 Thank you. I couldn't quite name what I disliked about it but now I see it. It looks like you took a VF100 armored VF-25 toy and stuck it in a microwave. Quote
d3v Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Wow, I disappear for almost a year and already there's a third thread. Quote

Kronnang Dunn Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Old Macross VF-1J with a Macross: The First Hikaru Ichijo. Official art by Hidetaka Tenjin. Quote
Lobizon Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Wasn't that from the freaky 3D image thing? Nope, that is a Jeffrey Wilder illustration from Hidetaka Tenjin's Valkyries Second Sortie - Art Works of Macross book. Quote
Marzan Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 scoliosis Actually if you're a young woman in your prime (like Sheryl is) and you practice yoga or gymnastics, the angle on her spine is not impossible (improbable yes). Quote

d3v Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Fitting that she cross-dresses almost as well as Alto. Quote
SkullLeaderVF-X Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Fitting that she cross-dresses almost as well as Alto. But unlike Alto, she isnt a trap when she does. Quote
shiroth Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 But unlike Alto, she isnt a trap when she does. Instead Sheryl would be a reverse-trap, which in some cases would be much better. Quote
d3v Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Instead Sheryl would be a reverse-trap, which in some cases would be much better. Which makes me wonder, has there ever been art of reverse-trap Sheryl with Meido Alto? Quote
Marzan Posted November 8, 2011 Posted November 8, 2011 Would love to see a full size version of those reverse-trap Alto and Sheryl! Quote
Kelsain Posted November 10, 2011 Posted November 10, 2011 Aww, this is cute, in light of Movie 2... Quote
d3v Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Aww, this is cute, in light of Movie 2... In light of movie 2 and some of the supplemental material, it's kinda hard to see Grace as a total manipulative bitch now. Quote
Killer Robot Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 In light of movie 2 and some of the supplemental material, it's kinda hard to see Grace as a total manipulative bitch now. It's still easy to see her that way. It's just gotten a lot easier to see her otherwise. Quote
David Hingtgen Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 I still like the image of Grace in the first title sequence of the series. She has such a "poor suffering secretary of a diva" look. Quote
Old_Nash Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Exeldore's with a face like that of StiflerXD Quote

I thought that was the best thing about Grace, and one of the better points of the series plot in general. Long-suffering manager to someone like Sheryl, Belldandy's voice, so nice and sympathetic and perfect for lulling the audience into thinking she's the last person that will end up the main villain. In a franchise where antagonists usually march in with badge on sleeves, it set a fine tone for being a show that wanted to play with fan expectations. Quote
Reïvaj Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Flight suit grace is still my favorite Yeah, I know what you mean Quote
David Hingtgen Posted November 11, 2011 Posted November 11, 2011 Yet no one ever makes fan-art of that! Quote

Agent ONE Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Macross TV "memory lane" album (screengrabs from PS2 videogame end credits - if I'm not mistaken). Enjoy! That is awesome, never seen those. Great thread guys. Quote
Marzan Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Alto on his mecha of choice... Wow. That looks amazing. Something about Alto's face and hair looks a bit off.... but with that VF-25 who cares Quote
