Gubaba Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 did they correct the vf17s face color this time? No. It's the "c" sheet. Quote
sketchley Posted April 11, 2014 Posted April 11, 2014 Complete: Mechanic: Other 03A: VF-4G Lightning III / VF-5000B Star Mirage / VA-3M Invader / VB-6 Konig Monster: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#Other - they did a major overhaul of the sheet :tired: Nevertheless, it 'feels' a bit more rounded than the initial version. RM++ Project: History M 13A: Culture's Spread Within Buritai's Ship: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRhistory/MCRhistory.php#SDFM - those Zentraadi ranks are a handful, aren't they? Has Miria's full rank been mentioned before? Quote
sketchley Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 RM++ Project: Worldguide 23A: The Galactic Parallel-Thinking Network Plan: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRworldguide/MCRworldguide.php - the RM wasn't quite as revealing about the topic of the sheet as I'd have liked. Nevertheless, the headlines are intriguing. Quote

sketchley Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 RM++ Project: Timeline 51A: Ranka Attack (F): http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCtimeline.php - both RM's are quite juicy: further defining the MDE/Fold Bomb "explosion" process, and one of Birla's motivations behind forming S.M.S.. Quote
sketchley Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 RM++ Project: Episode: 7 41A & B: Macross 7 Eps. 41 "I Like Mylene Very Much!": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#M7 - a bit light, but the episode was light-hearted anyways. The bit on the Sunny Flower is good, but I have the feeling of already having reading it somewhere else... Episode: F23A & B: Macross F Eps. 23 "True Beginning": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#MF - quite a few highlights on this one - the commentary being one of the better ones, for starters. The one about Sheryl's paper airplane is also surprising - how many of us noticed the paper that she used, let alone contemplated the significance of it? Quote

nexxstrait Posted April 15, 2014 Author Posted April 15, 2014 there may be 6 new Tenjin illustrations coming until the new run finishes. Rule out VF2ja or VT/VE 1, the first was already reprinted as a 1 page sheet, the others don't need a B sheet. Quote

sketchley Posted April 19, 2014 Posted April 19, 2014 Complete: Technology 08A: Over-Technology - Space Folds: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRtechnology/MCRtechnology.php - Aside from bumping the Otech B sheet into an A sheet (why couldn't they rename the sheet, too?), there aren't many major changed. The translation has been cleaned up to be consistent with the conventions I'm currently using. Quote

Seto Kaiba Posted April 21, 2014 Posted April 21, 2014 Ah, the YF-19 Advance, an excellent new painting. ... ... ... suddenly, I feel more optimistic about our prospects for a YF-30 Chronos cover. Quote

Episode: 7 42A & B: Macross 7 Eps. 42 "The Great Desperate Capture Operation": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#M7 - most interestingly, they mention an 8th Protodevilun, the "Space Fold Evhil"... Quote
Seto Kaiba Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Not quite. Says "VF-19EF/A Isamu Special" Which is odd to say the least, since the Mechanic Sheet ALL 01B indicated its name was VF-19 ADVANCE. Quote
Andras Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Does it say what the flip-top packs on the VF19s dorsal/shoulders are? More missiles? Quote
Mr March Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Not quite. Says "VF-19EF/A Isamu Special" Oh, that's actually encouraging since it might have more info on the Advance. Regardless, this cover new painting means we're getting a major profile on this VF-19 Variant. Hopefully it also means some more info on other VF/YF-19 variants as well. Quote
sketchley Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Note for those picking this magazine up at bookstores: #67 is indicated as being released on MONDAY, Apr. 28. I wonder if #68 will be released on May 12, as the regular day falls in the middle of Golden Week... In one sense, it could be interpreted as the same as the SDF:M chronology: the ASS-1 became the SDF-1. Another way to interpret it is that the ship design was copied, and the SDF-1 in the movie is a completely human created ship. Oh, so deliciously vague! Complete: Mechanic: M Citizen 03B: Civilian Vehicles: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#SDFM - only a few minor changes between the two editions. Quote

Nevertheless, has some good points, and the "fourth form" is kinda neat. Quote

Episode: 7 43A & B: Macross 7 Eps. 43 "Respective Partings": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#M7 - an interesting tie-in to FB7 (and how the events in M7 are generally perceived in the Macross world), and the commentary underlines the excellent thematic directing of this episode. Seto Kaiba Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Haven't they already had a bunch of VF-1 covers? Eh... the last edition did a similar thing, to a chorus of "are we done yet?" here on MW. Quote
sketchley Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 RM++ Project: Mechanic: F NUNS 03A VF-171EX Nightmare Plus EX: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#MF - a bunch of major changes - namely the removal of half the content! Presumably they're going to produce a sheet dedicated to Luca's RVF-171EX and the normal VF-171EX. Nevertheless, the rewritten GERWALK Mode section confirms that the VF-171 and VF-171EX don't have elbow beam guns (no word on forearm beam guns) and doesn't have the VF-17's High-Speed Combat Form. Some other observations: - there will be a total of 8 episode sheets for the DYRL movie (unlike the total 6 for the first (and presumably second) Frontier movie). - #67 has a second sheet for Macross The Ride, covering all the main VFs and the new VF-11 cockpit penned by Kazutaka Miyatake. I doubt that we'll get another sheet for the minor VFs that appeared, but anything's possible at this point. Haven't they already had a bunch of VF-1 covers? That's the VF-1 from the Technology 01Q page foldout, which has a VF development genealogy chart on the reverse. That said, the VF-1 sells. With the MC, probably more so than anything else they can put on the cover. Quote

Mechanic: M UN 13A: CVS-101 Prometheus: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#SDFM - quite a rearrangement of the two original sheets. That said, its quite sparse on new info, and the annoying "under investigation" markers apparently haven't had their investigation completed... Quote
