Mr March Posted March 19, 2014 Posted March 19, 2014 (edited) wasn't this 17 painting already featured in a previous issue? In a previous issue of this 80-issue series by DeAgonstini? No. But it was featured in the first 50-issue run of the Chronicle published by We've Inc. Issue #29. Edited March 19, 2014 by Mr March Quote

RM++ Project: History M 12A: The My-Clone Capture Operation: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRhistory/MCRhistory.php#SDFM - a nice refresher to that arc of the story, but nothing in the parts I translated comes across as a new revelation. No. But it was featured in the first 50-issue run of the Chronicle published by We've Inc. Issue #29. (Also for Jvmacross) Yes it was, I checked. Look here. Issue #18 revised edition The foldout had the same mismatched face color as the old edition 17S. I guess they are issuing a corrected version this time. Edited March 20, 2014 by nexxstrait Quote
Mr March Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Ah, interesting. I went through all my issues quickly at the time the question was asked and I looked only at the primary image. Didn't notice the small guy at the bottom Quote

Unless they slow the release, chances are that the new series will not make it into this edition. Or they may expand the edition, but likely no. It's being published by Daegostini, who in my experiences, have a history of extending a publication as new material for a series becomes available. That said, it really depends on how fast the new Macross series takes to get released. Quote

Like or dislike Kawamori's politics, it's truly a shame that the disparity between wealth classes within the Galaxy Fleet and the contrast between the Galaxy and Frontier Fleets weren't better capitalized on in the series - they're such a great source of conflict and dramatic tension! Episode: M29A & B: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Eps. 29 "Lonely Song": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#SDFM - the topic on Warera and the other three brought a chuckle while at the same time being depressing about the fate of the Zentraadi who sided with us Earthlings. Ultimately, it reinforces how great the Zentraadi are as protagonists. Quote

RM++ Project: History 7 09B: Operation Stargazer: http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRhistory/MCRhistory.php#M7 - instead of answering questions, the RM's only make new ones. E.g.: if the Protodevilun don't need science and technology and took armaments over from the Unified Forces, where did the basis for the improvements on those armaments come from? The series didn't give the impression that the brainwashed soldiers were creative, nor could the Protodevilun just will mechanical stuff into existence... Quote

That's just the beginning of the changes. In short, were the original was unsatisfyingly brief and limited in scope, this one is satisfying, provides the appropriate scope, and gives a proper explanation of the identity of the VT-1C in the warehouse in episode 1. Mr March Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I have to reluctantly agree. While the Macross geek in me is thrilled to see many of the Macross vehicles prominently featured in premier cover paintings, there really is a list of Macross mecha that should be prioritized for book-cover treatment over what we're getting. In addition, some of the hero mecha should be getting multi-mode treatment here. The VF-1 and VF-25 get pimped in Battroid, GERWALK and Fighter mode, why so few of the others? Granted, DeAgostini has brought us stuff like the YF-19 Battroid and others, but we should be seeing a lot more, including many of the variants. A Milia VF-17 Nightmare, a VF-19A Excalibur, or the Enemy Battlesuit from Macross Plus. The Macross Chronicle is being sold largely on the attraction of the Macross mecha, so show us the hero mecha we want to see in the modes we want to see. We won't get bored. Promise I hope they have a VF-17 Nightmare Battroid in their plan. Quote
jvmacross Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I'm guessing we will probably see these: VF-17 D/S battroid VT-1/VE-1 battroid VF-4 battroid Maybe a VF-2J???....VA-1SS....Quel-Quallie???....Gnerl???....
