jvmacross Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Re: #49 cover It's a beautiful rendition. That said, I really get the impression that this series is 'for fans only'. DeAgostini's Macross Chronicle or the Macross franchise in general? Quote
sketchley Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 DeAgostini's Revised Ed. of MC, of course! The 'VF Masterpieces Seen From Their Development Ancestry (VF-1 series)' sheet [which I just started working on tonight] from a couple of issues back is another sign that the publication has moved greatly toward targeting the hardcore (techie) demographic. sketchley Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 So... who are the "Heroine Gallery Sheets" aimed at? People who are, apparently, not buying the magazine, as those sheets have all but disappeared. Re: #46 This issue has the most awesomenest rendition of a Destroid Monster*, the absolute most retarded sheet ever**, and a questionnaire***. * yeah, squish Hibiki ** an episode sheet detailing all of the key (or main) mecha and characters that appeared in each episode of SDFM. Just look at the individual episode sheets, gollygoshdarnit already! *** on the one hand, it gives the impression that Daegostini is running out of ideas of what to do with the extra pages in the remaining issues (especially when combined with the aforementioned most retarded sheet ever), on the other hand, it includes questions asking about interest in a Macross DVD periodical (as in a magazine about episodes with a DVD of those episode included with it for "all 136 episodes" and a Macross Fighter Collection periodical (with 1/100 scale fighter mode VFs included with each issue). Episode: M20A: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Eps. 20 "Paradise Lost": http://sketchleytranslation.host-ed.me/MCRepisode/MCRepisode.php#SDFM - a bit more on the Zentraadi culture of repair. Mr March Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 (edited) Size Comparison Chart FTW! Well, I guess this chart now officially confirms the Quel-Quallie Theatre Scout Pod is 126.7 meters long excluding the landing struts. It's about twice the size I had originally thought according to this size diagram. I'm also proud that I appear to have accurately guessed the height of the VB-6 Konig Monster in Destroid mode in my own size chart years ago. Go M3! Edited December 13, 2013 by Mr March Quote

sketchley Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) A slight correction: It's "Shou Balckstone," not "Joe Blackstone." Thanks! I'm going to leave the last name as Blackstone as it better conveys the Ishiguro pun, doesn't look like a typo, and is consistent with the [shojiro] Ishibashi/Bridgestone transposition. Gubaba Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Thanks! I'm going to leave the last name as Blackstone as it better conveys the Ishiguro pun, doesn't look like a typo, and is consistent with the [shojiro] Ishibashi/Bridgestone transposition. Whoops, that was a typo on my part. I meant "Blackstone," not "Balckstone." My point was that it's "Shou," not "joe." Sorry! Quote
