ER/RM++ Project:

Timeline 14A: The Macross Returns: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtimeline/Timeline14A.php

- slapped up in PHP. Some changes in the revised edition - mainly clarifications and simplifications of who is doing what to whom.

Complete:

Gallery: 7: Macross 7: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRgallery/7.php

- another foldout gallery sheet. Dare I say the space could've been better used with a new Tenjin-san painting?

Mechanic: Zero UN 07A: CVN-99 Asuka II: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/ZEROun07aCVN-99AsukaII.php

- slapped up in PHP. No difference between the 2 versions, but I've revised parts of the translation to make it more comprehensible.

ER/RM++ Project:

Character 7 Citizen 04A: Vihiida Fiizu: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRcharacter/7cit04AVihiidaFiizu.php

- nothing truly unexpected if one pays attention to the series...

Character F SMS 02A Ozuma Lee: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRcharacter/Fsms02aOzumaLee.php

- this was layered with juicy nuggets. Not only does it clarify the maximum size of the Vajra (Large) size (an issue debated among some circles), but it also has elements from SDFM, M+, and (drum roll) VF-X2!

Manfred Brando was that git in the red Vf17 equipped with the song jamming system, wasn't he?

Did that bit come from the MF novelization?

It's much more than "just" song - it's a spatio-temporal resonance jamming that disrupts the targeting computer itself.

History 7 04A: The Protodevilun Attack: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRhistory/704aProtodevilunAttack.php

- although the front is a straight-out statement of what is implied in the series and Macross 7 Plus videos, the reverse is quite interesting in its description of Gigiru and Sybil. Who'd have thought it was like that?

So... wait... Sivil (possibly) LEAKED SPIRITIA OUT OF HER EYES...? Eww...

Man, why are all of Chronicle's revelations about Macross 7 somehow related to bodily secretions...?

So... wait... Sivil (possibly) LEAKED SPIRITIA OUT OF HER EYES...? Eww...

Not sure if it's eyes per se - possibly her skin pores. Yum! (The text was describing the spiritia itself, not how (or where!) it came out.)

But yeah, M7 and bodily secretions... maybe there's a whole subtext that was lost in the (fansub) translation?

Mechanic: Ai Zentraadi 01A: Nuujaderu Gaa: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/DYRLzent01ANuujaaderuGaa.php

- interesting: another Easter egg in DYRL. This time - it's a missile launcher equipped battle suit. Anyone catch it when watching the movie?

Complete!:

Episode: II 00B: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross II -Lovers Again-: Opening/Ending: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/II00ABproductionData.php

- so there are 00B sheets... text is an odd mix of informative and obvious.

Worldguide 10B: Zentraadi: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRworldguide/10BZentraadi.php

- I was only intending to do the ER/RM, but the fact that I translated the whole sheet speaks volumes on how interesting I found it. Not only do we get the Zentraadi/English dictionary (one can finally get a handle on the meaning of Yak de culture"), we also get a better description of the Zentraadi language, confirmation that they had a culture (of sorts) pre-contact, AND a description of the Inspection Forces.

Alas, as its a tour de force, it doesn't really go into too much detail (aside from the language and culture)...

10 per binder.....if referring to "revised" edition...you need 8....

....."obsolete and unworthy of the paper and ink its printed on" edition requires a mere 5 binders... ;)

I take the "no binder" option....I'm being swindled and pimped as it is without the binders..... :rolleyes:

Episode: F 00A: Macross F (Frontier) - Production Data: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/F00ABproductionData.php

- mostly a summary of things. Though, I don't think I've ever heard the Vajra's weapons being referred to as 'plasma' beams before...

Episode: F06A: Macross F Eps. 6 "Bye-bye Sheryl": http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/F06ABeps6.php#

- I don't know what to make of this sheet. The topics could've been highly informative, but as they are, it's: "yeah, so?" I realize that with space constraints, they're never going to amount to much. But this time, it feels like they raised 2 important topics, but don't finish either 'statement' with a point.

Only the Vf27 one is new

Do you know in which issue of the "old" Macross Chronicle was the VF-0A battroid used on the cover? Or was it one of the fold-out illustrations inside one of the issues?

Issue #34, fold out sheet. The cover sported Ranka (ugh....)

Heroine Gallery: Klan Klan x HWR-00-MkIP / Sheryl Nome x YF-29: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRheroine/HeroineGalleryMF.php#KlanKlanHWR-00-MkIP

- in short: same artists and blurbs about them, new art. I kinda like the Kuran Kuran one. Definitely fits the character.

ER/RM++ Project:

Timeline 15A: Macross Is Ordered To Leave Beyond The Earth: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtimeline/Timeline15A.php

- slapped up into php, translation tweaked, and there are some small to major changes in the revised edition.

Mechanic: 7 UN 08A: VF-17 Nightmare: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/7un08AVF-17Nightmare.php

- also slapped into php, tweaked and the changes in the revised edition indicated. Surprisingly, only 1 is "simplifying for the masses". The others are actual fixes.

Goods: 03 Plastic Model: Bandai 1/72 scale "Macross F" Series 1: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRgoods/03Banda172MFseries1.php

- the ER/RM on the reverse is especially telling - if you ever wondered where the Ita-decals for Valkyries started, it answers it. (at last count, they're showing up as DLC on the Macross 30 game!)

Now that issue #18 is out, can someone tell me if the VF17 nightmare's 17s face color has been corrected? In the M7 episodes sheets it still apears with the wrong color, so I fear they didn't catch this error. 'would be a pity, since they made tons of small corrections to the mecha sheets.

By the way, my first 15 issues arrived two days ago and all in all - I wasn't really convinced - I'm pleased to be doing this thing AGAIN : )

If and when I have some spare time I'll post all the visual changes between first ed. and revided ed. that I could find, so those of you still on the verge can decide if they want to add to their collection by buying only specific issues.

Nope, it's still dark gray.

Thanks anyway Gubaba. I guess I'll just have to correct it myself (when I'll have two VF17 sheets, I can alter the "spare" one without fear of ruining it).

I guess the vf19 will have the wrong face color too. A pity, since they corrected the color in subsequents sheets (B or C) of the old chronicle.

Complete!

Technology 01D: Variable Fighter: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtechnology/01dVariableFighter.php

- was initially only planning to do the ER/RM, but it turned into a tour de force of not only missile technology and its evolution, but also (and perhaps more importantly) WHY missiles are portrayed and used the way they are in Macross. A must read.

ER/RM++ Project:

Episode: M07A: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Eps. 7 "Bye-bye Mars": http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/M07ABeps7.php

- Surprisingly informative. Not only do we get Kawamori's (historical) thoughts on who the real Miss Macross is, we also get ratings, broadcast preemption, AND an overview of the novel "Hayase Misa's White Reminisce"! (Gubaba was on the right track when he decided to translate the book. Now everyone go read it!)

Episode: 711A: Macross 7 Eps. 11 "Minmei Video": http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/711ABeps11.php

- this one was also really informative. Not only does it highlight Mikimoto-san's involvement in more than just designing the characters, it also puts the spotlight on Hase Arihito's and Meguro Kousuke's cameos (of sorts) in the episode.

Oh, I started translating it a long time ago, I just ended up slacking off... but a chance comment from a friend of mine about it got me to thinking that I really SHOULD finish it... and then seeing it referenced in the Chronicle was the final straw.

It's no coincidence that I posted about it just a couple of days after that issue of the Chronicle came out...

EDIT: Back on topic, I was shocked to learn in the latest issue of Chronicle that Kakizaki is BASED ON A REAL GUY...

I wonder if he's proud of that...?

Mechanic: F NUNS 01A: Macross Frontier: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/MCRmechanic.php#MF

- some new bits of info, and I'm glad that it regurgitates the info that the ship is really composed of 6 smaller ships (something that I thought I must've translated in error when I did the Great Mechanics.DX article a few years back). And to top it off, there's an explanation on the opening of the gun barrel before firing gimmick.

ER/RM++ project:

Timeline 16A: "Shao Pai Long [Little White Dragon]" Premieres: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtimeline/MCRtimeline.php

- slapped up in php. No changes in the two editions - they didn't even fix the typo!
