UN Spacy Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Thanks for the help and translations fellas. BTW. Is there a way for folks outside of the US to get the pin set that I've been seeing on the back pages? How many extra binders are you guys getting? I have one set (2 binders pet set) on preorder at HLJ. http://www.hlj.com/product/digwmsp/Boo Quote

I have one set (2 binders pet set) on preorder at HLJ. http://www.hlj.com/product/digwmsp/Boo I don't think there's any way to get the pin set, except through a proxy. As for binders, I ordered one set this time (and a set of the Gundam Perfect File binders). Eventually, of course, you'll need eight. For anyone ordering directly from DeAgostini, I recommend ordering more than one set at a time, or one set and something else. The binders are ¥590 per set, and DeAgostini tacks on a ¥315 charge for any order under ¥1000. Quote
sketchley Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 PHP smack down, tweaks and updates from the revision: Timeline 09A: The Macross Forces a Fold: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtimeline/Timeline09A.php Complete! Mechanic: TF SMS 04A: YF-29 Durendal: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/TFsms04aYF29.php - I was really worried that the sheet would repeat some of the difficult to translate pseudo-science on the YF-29 in the Macross F Official Complete Book, and thankfully, it didn't! It's laden with lots of juicy bits instead. Yum! Quote
sketchley Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 PHP smack down, and a bunch of tweaks (and even some retranslations!): Technology 03B: Destroid: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtechnology/03bDestroid.php - I have mixed feelings on the demise of the ETs in the Destroid back story. But on the flip side, I really dig the two (2) heretofore unmentioned AUA Destroids! Quote
sketchley Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 ER/RM++ Project: Worldguide 19A: Macross Frontier Fleet: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRworldguide/19AMacrossFrontierFleet.php - tweaks of the previously translated content + the ER/RM (which is eyebrow raising). Another sheet that I'd like to get back to at a future date. Quote
sketchley Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 (edited) ER/RM++ Project - Episode sheets: M04A & B: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Eps. 4 "Lynn Minmei": http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/M04ABeps4.php - loads o' goodies herein. My favourites are the species of fish that Hikaru lassos (that's a real fish, NOT mutated by the space fold. Take that Del Rey novels!) and the clarification of Macross and the origins of the term "otaku". 707A & B: Macross 7 Eps. 7 "Summer Accident": http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/707ABeps7.php - the biggest shocker in this one is the image source for the Riviera. That's just, like, wow. Edited April 7, 2013 by sketchley Quote
Renato Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Can't find issue 11 now, and amazon is listing it for twice the price second-hand. Screw that. Quote

Another new one.....and its a beauty!!! .........maybe Arcadia can re-issue all of their valks using these tenjin covers......... http://deagostini.jp/mcr/backnumber.php?id=38453&issue=14 I agree, it's gorgeous, but I'm afraid this is an old illustration. It has already been published in old chronicle issue #31 or 32, if I remember correctly. Quote

sketchley Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 (edited) Complete! (an epic one at that) Glossary 04A: AIF-9V - SF-3A Lancer II: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRglossary/Glossary04a.php - a lot of handy bits of info, but the most telling is an actual explanation on why Exsedor's appearance changes between SDFM and 7 (nevermind DYRL)! Now if only they would be so forthcoming with the other design changes... Edited April 11, 2013 by sketchley Quote

sketchley Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 On a related note, one of the bookstores near my workplace had one set (2 binders) on sale. You may be able to bypass the shipping charges if you get a store to order them for you. Quote

Nothing really unexpected... History 7 03A: The Drifting City 7: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRhistory/703aDriftingCity7.php - the sheet per se isn't that interesting, but it does underline the slow pace of Macross 7 and highlights how many of the story beats in the series aren't directly stated or shown (or if they were, how subtle they were). Thumbs up! Quote
Renato Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Some images from Issue 13: 13.jpg OK, now THAT is HILARIOUS. It's like the Glaug is CRUSHING the VF-2SS with its foot. "CONTACT" THIS!! Quote
sketchley Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 ER/RM++ Project: Technology 10A: Beam Weapons: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtechnology/10aBeamWeapons.php - nothing too unexpected, and I really like that they clarified what the Zentraadi impact/liquid plasma guns are. (I'd like to say some of the untranslated sections look tempting, but they appear to be recycling content from other sheets). Episodes: M05A & B: Super Dimensional Fortress Macross Eps. 5 "Transformation": http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/M05ABeps5.php - I was looking at the Nyan-nyan Restaurant section with some trepidation - and it turned out to be the most interesting! If you ever wanted to know what happened to Yo-chan. On a related note: does anyone remember if the original edition referenced any of the drama CDs? Plus 02A: Macross Plus "Episode 2": http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRepisode/Plus02ABeps2.php - some interesting stuff. Kudos for giving props to the screenplay writer! Quote

If you ever wanted to know what happened to Yo-chan. On a related note: does anyone remember if the original edition referenced any of the drama CDs? Not specifically, no. But Yot-chan taking over Nyan-Nyan and turning it into a chain was referred to on his Character Sheet... they just didn't say what the source of that tidbit of info was. (I *think* they also mentioned that Millard was in Skull Squadron, which is a detail that comes from the Macross Classic drama album.) Quote

Well, it certainly captures the mood of Nekki Basara. ER/RM++ Project: Timeline 10A: Macross, First Transformation: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtimeline/Timeline10A.php - basically the same partial translation as before with some tweaks, and a handful of sections that were revised in the Revised Ed.. This time, those revisions are a mixed bag. On the one hand, there are a couple of spots that are clarified. On the other hand, there are a couple of spots were information has been removed or kanji has been rendered in kana. Simplifying for the masses? Quote
