If they are following the original 10 issue Hiroshima release (which they have so far)....Issue 9 will be have the VF-19P:

Macross%20Chronicle%20Hiroshima%209%20%2

But Issue 10 will use the cover from Issue 43..the VF-4 from FB2012:

shpmc43_0.jpg?v=1337107691

After that....who knows....but probably just 22 new covers?... ;)

Point taken...

...but honestly, who checks the "Collectors" forum...?

....perhaps the same subset of MWers that also read the MW Front Page and the Macross Chronicle Table of Contents...?

Extra Report + project:

Worldguide 25A: Renown VF Squadrons: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRworldguide/25ARenownVFsquads.php

This feels like it'll be an easy sheet to polish off, but I also have the funny feeling that at the time of writing, it won't be worth that effort...

Partial (to get rid of that feeling of deja vu that I've translated it whenever I look at the sheet...)

Mechanic: D7 Etc 02B VA-3CKai Invader Kai: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/D7etc02BVA-3Ckai.php

I think I got the most interesting stuff on the sheet (aka information that, to the best of my knowledge, hasn't previously been made available in English). Interesting how the poaching group has gone to so much effort to increase it's underwater performance.

Partial: Glossary 03A: Emulator - Space Destroyer: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRglossary/Glossary03a.php

Some interesting tidbits of info. As time is limited, I'm not doing the characters or songs.

Complete: Worldguide 14A: Planet Eden: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRworldguide/14APlanetEden.php

Get yer Sauro-Bird Steak Vacuum Packs here! Lots of fun stuff, with the nature conversation subtext everyone "loves" about Macross Zero. (That's right, it was present in Plus, too.)

Complete:

Timeline 07A: The World After the Unification War: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtimeline/Timeline07A.php

- I was surprised at what was tweaked. One or two of them makes things somewhat more consistent with previously published materials, but a lot bleaker.

Mechanic: Zero UN 01B: VF-0S Phoenix: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRmechanic/Zeroun01bVF-0S.php

- a bunch of minor edits to the existing page. The new content is interesting, but not exactly unexpected.

Partial:

History: Plus 02A: Sharon Apple Galaxy Tour (Eden Performance): http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRhistory/Plus02aSharonAppleConcert.php

- neat that there was a temporary sales ban on her music as punishment.

Some images from Issue #09

Wuzzat? The cover and interior VF-19P art is... different?!

frontier and quarter... nice!

That was from the original run. If memory serves, the Quarter was a sized-reduced reprint of an earlier page, too!

History M 01A: Fall of the ASS-1: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRhistory/M01AFallOfTheASS-1.php

I wasn't intending to do the entire sheet when I started. However, everywhere I looked was full of interesting info (some of it heretofore untranslated into English!).

Alas, there are two strikes against the sheet: they've removed the reference to where South Ataria Island is (other sources have given a specific location), and the fictitious mid-East country that is the nominal start of the Unification War.

These are the clear files which were sent out to subscribers this week (sorry about the quality of the pics). Yeah, these really need to be full-blown B2 posters.

In the Tenjin Artworks picture there seems to be two new pieces not yet published, but I may be mistaken:

Armored VF25S (fighter mode, I really don't remember if this was on the old Chronicle) and... VF30 Chronos (fighter mode)? Could be something else, picture too blurry to be certain.

It's a reproduction of a page that's in issue #1 of the new Chronicle.

The VF-30 isn't there... I *think* the VT-1/VE-1 pic may be new (bottom row, third from the left), and I can't recall if Tenjin did the VF-3000 and Variable Glauj (second row from the top, on the left) in the old version or not. All of the other pics look familiar.

Oh, and there's a typo on the page... unless there's a VF-1SS and it looks exactly like the VF-2SS...

Think that is a poster from issue 50...but it reminds me of the 3D poster sold at the Tokyo Anime Center last September:

Ah, okay... Then there are no new Tenjin pics, beyond the first five or so issues in that pic.

Yep...Issues 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9...all new Tenjin art.....issue 1 is a reuse of the original issue 1 valk art...only the character art on the cover changed (I guess you can argue that the small YF-29 pic on the cover, plus spread inside, is also new for that issue)....Issue 6 was a recycled image, as will be issue 10 (VF-4)....

So probably not many all new cover art coming our way.... :( ...plus we'll probably have to wait a while to actually see it all.....I'm hoping for some Varuta valk art and more from Macross II.....we'll see what Tenjin comes up with I guess

Again, I think if the "Episode Sheets" or "Heroine Gallery Sheets" are your thing, you should get the new version. Otherwise, it's not worth it.

Agreed...I think I'll only grab the new cover issues.....kinda thankful it's only 30 new covers....DeAgostini could have easily "swindled and pimped" us into getting them all!!!

They might do so yet... since for the new version, many of the "B" sheets have new Tenjin art...

- the fashion parade... not gonna touch that for the mo'.

- no changes between the editions, but I did tweak the translation in spots.

Yikes...my 60 day limit on my Private Warehouse at HLJ is over in five days.

I have the first nine issues just waiting for me....I'm hoping the tenth issues arrives before that.

What's on the next issue (# 11) cover? It is usually previewed on the last pages of the magazine. A new piece by Tenjin or some of his old works?

And is the VF4 Battroid in color this time (I'm not referring to the M&M Red e Blue ones, but to the Hikaru one)?

Complete! (and this really, truly feels complete, as I've been slogging away at it for 4 days!)

Technology 01C: Variable Fighter: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRtechnology/01cVariableFighter.php

- this is the mother load of info on gun pods. There's really too much new info to summarize in a few lines.

There's only one thing that should probably be pointed out as it tended to get lost in the translation: the article continually reinforces that gun pods are "real object bullet" firing weapons (as opposed to beam and laser guns, that don't fire a solid object). Most times, I rendered it as bullet-firing. Sometimes as corporeal bullet pending the context (as real object bullet is just confusing, IMHO).

What the hell? I can't find issue 09 anywhere! And they're over 1300 yen at amazon now!

They're definitely printing these in a smaller run compared to the originals.

Worldguide 10A: Zentraadi: http://sketchleystats.webatu.com/Trans/MCRworldguide/10AZentraadi.php

- quite interesting, and goes a long way toward highlighting how callously monstrous the Protoculture really were. What happened to them is kind of fitting in a way. Probably the most interesting are the clarifications in the revised edition to the differences in internal structure with humans (especially when macronized) and the possibility of humans being macronized.

Could it be that stores are ordering less from the distributor? I know there are a handful of MWers who aren't purchasing it regularly, and stores are basing their orders on that.

Though, I am surprised that Amazon is listing it at that price. This past Saturday I saw at least 3 issues in the neighbourhood of my workplace at 2 different bookstores. Which suggests that you *should* be able to find one at cover price if you're willing to shop around a bit more off the beaten track.
