^Actually, if you look closely at the clear sensor on GN Sword IIs, they aren't correctly colored in light blue but green instead. This sparked some theories that it's intentionally made that way to make it easier for Seven Swords version later. That's because sensors of GN Sword II Seven Swords version are light green unlike normal OO version. So, in short, yes it's very likely Seven Swords will get MG treatment.

Just a reminder, Metal Build OO Seven Sword will be released this month.

Metal build is cool but expensive, and it's not in orange creamsicle colors.

That red/pink OO7S/G is rare variant, it's called 'inspection color' or something. I don't know if it ever appeared on sidestory or just color variation Bandai created out of nowhere. HG version of red OO7S/G is still event limited item, so red version of Metal Build or future MG very likely will follow that path too (being limited item). Personally I like that red color scheme too, if I ever pick HG OO7S/G someday I will paint it in that color, or if I can find that limited inspection color I'll grab it without 2nd thought.

*if* I can find it in normal price that is

*checks gundam wiki* the 007S/G inspection version is from gundam 00V: senki which was a photonovel serialized in Hobby Japan (similar to Macross R). I paint my kits anyways So no point trying to go after a limited edition kit. But I do prefer 1/100 scale so I'll be waiting patiently until a regular version comes out to paint up. B))

I would say that getting the super glue you brush on is probably your best bet. That way you can control (to some degree) the thickness and amount of coats you apply to the piece.

Boxart of "new" MG Wing Gundam EW

1.jpg

Not sure if there will be new hands to hold buster rifle better, just action base adapter confirmed so far. But anyone who already owned Wing ver.Ka shouldn't bother. That's one stylish boxart there, I want that as a poster B))

picked up a 1/144 HG ReZEL or w hatever, can't remember the name. man it needs some good touching up but some of my paint is in bad shape so I'm doing what I can to revitalize my bottles and add in detail. I should be able to begin assembling it tonight after it all dries. Should be fun! Hadn't built a kit in nearly a year now.

New info from hobby magazine scans.

Mostly updates of already announced gunpla such as MG Epyon, HGUC Dreissen, RG Strike, and MG OO Raiser. There are two freshly announced though: HGUC GM Cannon II from 0083 and SD Wing Gundam EW/ver.Ka.

And here's RG Strike with all decals.

GM Cannon II at last. Happy day!

Hi guys, I am kind of new here!

I am an avid gundam fan, but I stick to toys because the models kind of scare me little.......

I like to mess about with my gundam toys, so can gundam models withstand regular posing and play, suppose a MG model??

Thanks, and sorry i am kind of a noob <img src="http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":p" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

In my experience, if you are looking for pose/play. I recommend you to the High Grades. They are solid, durable and very articulable --the Gundam O series especially--. As for Master Grades and Perfect Grades, they are bigger but it doesn't mean they are always better. Since they cost a ton; I treat them like glass.

Am really digging the Real Grades.

I want MG Sandrock too---by far the most-ignored of the core GW suits.

Anyways---I'm honestly disappointed with the MG Epyon. It's almost but not quite a re-design. I want how it appeared on the show (its only appearance so it's iconic---there's no need for a "prototype" or "EW" or "post-EW" look or anything). The arm-claw change is fine, but the upper chest is quite different (everything surrounding the "eye") and there's way more yellow on the torso. Wing tips are different too. And the shoulder armor--it's more triangular and simpler in overall outline, shorter in width but bulkier front-back. The shield is completely new and looks "over-complicated" like the new MG retro-EW-Shenlong's. Frankly, the animation version looks better/cooler. As does the old 1/100 kit in many ways. (sure it was floppy as hell, but it sure looked cool because it followed the line art pretty closely)

The MG Wing (standard, normal, basic Wing) is nigh-perfect IMHO. This seems to be "making little tweaks for no apparent reason that would only irk fans of the suit". I might pass on it, despite Epyon being my first 1/100 kit ever and one of my all-time faves. I do not want "Epyon's similar-looking brother". Either go totally EW-redesign, or leave it alone. Do not "tweak" it just a bit.

::edit:: I don't really like the head either--looks too short/squat/wide/square/flat in those pics.

::edit 2:: Oh, just noticed it has the "opening wing" thing like MG Wing. Now that's a cool retcon IMHO, as it's "invisible" when closed up and really has no effect if you don't use it.

::edit 3:: The more I look, the more differences I see in the shoulder armor. And that to me is a shame, as Epyon had such uniquely-shaped shoulder armor. It's so much more "generic" now and they ruined the color pattern---the simple black outline angling up on the edges--now there's multiple bocks/plates of armor, and there's no real pattern/striping at all.

Yeah, that yellow patch on Epyon's abdomen is really distracting. Some people may end up painting it. About proportion, I think the colored one is just CG and indeed the proportion is bad. But the MG itself, judging from that gray prototype got correct proportion.

It's almost but not quite a re-design.

Unlike other EW version Gundams, Epyon EW never seem to be existed before MG announcement and its appearance on recent Glory of the Defeated manga. Which means, Katoki worked on this Epyon long after he's done with Wing; maybe he's losing his inspiration after so long not working with W? Just my theory though.

One thing I've noticed on all the latest re-designs (MG Shenlong, Epyon) is that they've abandoned the "single large piece" of rear skirt armor in favor of two separate sections, very similar to the front bits. Much better for articulation, but bad for following the original look/style. More obvious on Shenlong than Epyon, but it's still "another change away from how most people remember it looking".

Single piece rear skirt armor doesn't affect mobility at all (unless the rear skirt goes so large and longer below the knees, like Mashymre Cello's Zaku III Custom). We naturally can't move our thigh backwards and since MS is based on human image, they can't too. In many MG with good articulation, the rear skirt armor is fixed even if it's split type like the front one. As for Shenlong and Epyon, it's just Katoki own preference.

Anyway, some HUGE pics of RG Aile Strike

Just kind of a random question for you guys, but what do you think is the best Perfect Grade model Bandai has put out so far? I have been hearing a lot of

"That perfect grade is the best one" and stuff along those lines from numerous people in different forums, so I just wanted to test the waters...

What do you guys think is the best perfect grade put out so far?

For me, since I am more into detail and stuff, would be the PG GP-01. The first gundam toy I ever got was a 12" DX GP-01 when I was around 10ish and Gundam was

actually airing and kinda popular with kids here in the U.S. I really liked that thing, and had a TON of childhood memories messing around with it emulating the TV show. Therefore, the PG GP-01 just made sense to me and seemed like a natural build upon the model of my childhood. It has TONS of detail and a lot of playability and diorama potential as well.

Just my thoughts, but what do you guys think?

(Also, that new MG Epyon looks horrible IMHO....)

Well, I've only got 3 Perfect Grade Gundams: GP01, Endless Waltz Wing Gundam, and Astray Red Frame. Of those, my favourite is the GP01. I love the articulation, love the detail, and I'm a huge fan of Stardust Memory (it was my first Gundam... and ya never get over that  ). Next would be the Astray Red Frame, which is undeniably cool. Very, very, last is the EW Wing, which I really don't care for at all.

I don't know about that. EW was my first Gundam, and definately not my top fav.

I know they are not models, but I love the look of the Gundam Fix/Zeonolagy series. Are they good quality? Are they worth picking up. I figure with Gundam being my fav franchise, that they would be nice to collect and display.

IMHO, time is more important than grade. Modern MG's blow away earlier MG's and even some PG's. There's HGUC's that would have been considered MG's a few years ago if they were an inch taller. Simply put--the newer the better, period.

The original gundam Fix figures where very nicely sculpted and have lots of good paint/weathering/accessories; but they're also made almost entirely of soft PVC plastic.

Parts/accessories didn't fit right, bits came warped out of the box and joints tended to be either floppy loose or so tight they break the thing. later releases where somewhat improved over the earliest ones but as a whole the figures are something that you put together in a pose once and never touch again (possibly gluing pieces together).

Now the GFF metal composites are VERY nice toys. They have all the accessories, detail, and paint/weathering of the regular GFF's but bigger and made of ABS, POM and diecast. The new thing is GFFN (Gundam Fix figuration next) which is the same scale as the old GFF's (presumably they're completely replacing the old line) but has better quality plastic and construction.

the Zeonography where released about mid way through the GFF line's run and are basically the same thing only Zeon mecha.

Thank you, I have seen a few and they are sweet looking. I have tried the models but after I injured my wrist I find the precise control required for the kits I like is a little more difficult and frustrating so the FIX figures are the alternative.

There's a thread dedicated to Gundam Figure here. And coincidentally, my last post there is about Fix line. You can check it here ^_^ .

Any light-up gimmick fans here?

yes please. ^_^

also, are they actually going to give us the GN condensers from the movie with this one? I'm shocked they're not going to try and sell everyone this kit twice for two pieces of plastic like they did the HG00.

Link to comment

Yes, the condensers are included. I'm not sure if LED units can fit in those condensers like GN Drives do though. And I think it's been said before but only one LED included so the rest need to be bought separately. Still better than none in MG OOQ anyway.

Anyone have an HGUC GP-03 Dendrobium Orchis? Is it worth the $250 - $300. I really love the concept of it (Mobile Armor + Gundam) as well as the whole

containers system that it comes with. Looks like a lot of fun to build and display, and seems to have a lot of playability as well.

If anyone has it, do you think its worth the pick-up? I have a whole week off for spring break, and I was looking to buy and build this thing :)
