pondo Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 After receiving my vf-25f a few weeks ago I couldn't help myself when I saw the sale going on at HLJ. So I sprung for a vf-1a max (tv) now that I have broken my rule I fear that I'm about to embark on a long and expensive road. However, the one ethic I MUST retain is that I will not purchase a valk with a broken shoulder or an impossible crotch system. *prays I can stick with my code* Thank God my wife is supportive of my macross illness. She refers to it as my "japanese investments" Quote
BlueMax Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Why fear it? Embrace it! Like many of us have! Quote
EXO Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 She refers to it as my "japanese investments" Hey! That's what I call my "other" hobby. I broke the 1 valk per year rule... the first year... about 10x Quote
nightmareB4macross Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Thank God my wife is supportive of my macross illness. pondo Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 I realize this may have been a silly topic but it also means I'm gonna have to build a new bookshelf for the dining room........ Quote
bigkid24 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 At first I thought you had a habit of breaking 1 valk per year. Quote
stormshadow0621 Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 (edited) I started with a single Super VF-25F this XMas, now I have: Super VF-25F VF-25F Super VF-25G VF-25F Clear Armored VF-25S VF-25S VF-27 Still looking for a RVF-25 at a good price...to complete things... So you have a long way before you are addicted Thought I beat the Macross habit when I stopped buying Yamato(s) a year ago. Edited March 26, 2010 by stormshadow0621 Quote
fifbeat Posted March 26, 2010 Posted March 26, 2010 The last 3 months I bought 7 valks.... lol! Feels good to have them, tho! Quote
GU-11 Posted March 27, 2010 Posted March 27, 2010 (edited) Heheh, when I first started getting into Macross VF collecting about a year ago, I'd only planned to buy either the YF-19 or -21. To date, I've already bought nine VF's, including: 4 VF-1's (VF-1J Max and Milia type, VF-1A Max TV version, VF-1D Virgin Road), 1 YF-19 Double Nuts, 1 YF-21 Omega One, 1 VF-22S Sturmvogell II Gamlin Kizaki, 1 VF-11B Thunderbolt. And I plan to buy at least another eight: VF-IJ HIkaru GBP-1 set VF-1S Roy Anniversary Plus VF-1D YF-19 Original Color reissue VF-0A Phoenix VF-0S Roy SV-51 Gamma Ivanov SV-51 Gamma Nora A minute amount to the veterans here, but I've never dreamed I'd ever put down that much money for a figure...but once you start buying, there just ain't no stopping. GU-11 Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 HI all, What is this valk? I think it's this DX Chogokin one from Bandai: You can get the full review of it on Scorched Earth well....I think I've decided to stick with the 1/60 vermillian squad from tv..... and destroids.... and a Q-rau...... and a vf25.... oh crap...that 1/100 bandai vf-1j looks pretty sweet too. If you plan to buy the Q-rau, you really should also get Max's DYRL VF-1A. For me at least, the whole point of a DYRL Q-rau (the only version available from Yamato right now) is to pose it in a diorama with Max. Now if only Yamato would release a green TV Q-Rau, my Max VF-1A TV version will be a happy camper. Not a huge fan of dyrl. Or at least the designs. The colouring from SDFM is more interesting to me. Me neither. The minimalist paint schemes just don't do it for me. Quote

GU-11 Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 well, when I said Q-rau, I meant a green one (here's hopin') Here's hoping, indeed. Funny why Yamato chose to release a pair of less popular DYRL Q-Rau's (Milia's red one and Max's blue one) instead of the original green TV version. AFAIK, the TV version is much more in demand, and the DYRL ones have proven to be somewhat shelf warmers. you mean Max's DYRL VF-1S. Heheh, my bad. Been a while since I watched the DYRL fight scene between Max and Milia. Quote

Chronocidal Posted April 5, 2010 Posted April 5, 2010 I've been trying to limit myself to one per month, but I overflowed around Christmas time. Since September, I've bought 22 valks of various types. I've stopped now for a bit, since my job may change location, but I plan to pick up a few more things later on, mostly the VF-1 kit version, and a VF-0S. Quote
