GobotFool Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 Presenting...The Cars That Ate Paris Where to people come up with this stuff?
Toby Danger Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 THE PRINCE OF OUTER SPACE!!!! some of y'all might remember that from MST3K
Mechwolf Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 Invasion Of The Neptune Men was MUCH worse than Prince Of Space. I'm not saying that Prince Of Space wasn't terrible, it was. It's just that Invasion Of The Neptune Men was that much more terrible. It amazes me what some of you guys & gals think are the worst movies ever made. Sure Starship Troopers had a bad story line that reflected very little on the novel it is supposed to be based on. But the SFX were enjoyable. Some people claim to not like it because of the obvious lack of any ground combat tatics or equipment, like APCs, Tanks, and such. I can understand, & for the most part, agree with this. However, it cofuses me when these same people applaud Star Trek so much despite the fact it to suffers from the same lack of ground army understanding. At least Starship Troopers are outfitted with assault rifles. I guess what i'm saying about Starship Troopers is that it was a bad movie, but it was ok for mindless entertainment. What I don't understand so much dislike for Wing Commander. Was it a great movie? Hell no. But it certainly wasn't the worst either. It wasn't as good as any of the Star Wars movies, but it was better than all the Star Trek movies with exception to ST2:Wrath Of Kahn & ST6:Undiscovered Country. I guess what I'm trying to say is this; To those of you who think Starship Troopers is the worst ever, sit down & watch some Mystery Science Theater 3000. With movies like The Horrors Of Spider Island, Boggy Creek 2, Space Mutiny, Danger Diabolic, & Track Of The Moon Beast, you will truly know what terrible & perhaps what the worst movies are.
Noriko Takaya Posted November 22, 2003 Posted November 22, 2003 (edited) How has no one mentioned SOLDIER yet?Well I guess it was so terrible that no one even saw it. Worst film ever, the entire movie made no sense whatsoever, and somehow Kurt Russell was paid like $20 mil for a movie where he speaks a grant total of THREE lines (I'm not exaggerating folks). The popcorn that I ate during the movie was a trillion times better! Hey! As bad as that movie is, it's actually one of my favorite senselessly violent flicks. And no, I do not like MD Geist. However, it's not sci-fi related, but that movie, Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever, was like having a really BAD case of hemmorhoids. By the way, I also liked Battle Beyond The Stars as a kid, but when I saw it recently I had to kick myself. Although, I think it would be great to fly around the universe in a ship with breasts on it. Edited November 22, 2003 by Noriko Takaya
zeus the zentran Posted November 30, 2003 Posted November 30, 2003 pardon me as worst sci-fi movies i meant matrix and matrix reloaded.didn't see revolutions cause reloaded isn't even worth wiping my ass with.and leave zardoz and 2001:a space oddessy the hell alone too.they movies ahead of their time.
Uxi Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 Just nuke the planet and fly in wide formations rather than packing the battlecruisers (which didn't even fired a shot!). Those ships are troop transports not battlecruisers or even destroyers. Makes it even worse! Why build a big fleet of troop transports without proper armament? But it wasn't the worst movie though. For what need do the troop transports need to be armed? In the movie, they didnt know the bugs had the plasma-fart cannon things... And who says there weren't armed escorts "off camera"? Don't get me wrong, Starship Troopers is hardly a great movie, but there are far far worse things out there. And the book is kinda overrated, anyways. Distinctions need to be made with the low-budget crapola and the big stuff. You can nominate almost all 70s-today low-budget sci-fi. First, if it's got such a low budget, then it's almost certainly crap (possibly a gem in there, but who wants to dig through the crap to find it?). I'm not trekkie enough to decipher why Enterprise could make it to the center of the galaxy but I would question if Voyager was even out yet when ST V was made (and if not, it would be the fault of Voyager). I've read that Paramount sacked the budget and much (including the finale) had to be improvised but still doesn' change the fact that the plot is a stinker. But it's still miles ahead of other things like Battlefield Earth and Waterworld. Anyone mentioning The Phantom Menace or the Matrix can go back to the Tool-shed. Say what you want about the prequels, but they are miles ahead of anything with Costner or most of Connery in it.
renegadeleader1 Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 this has probly been said but Alien: ressurection and Starship Troopers I have never seen so much screwed up in my life!
GreatMoose Posted December 1, 2003 Posted December 1, 2003 Somethingawful.com has a pretty funny review of "The Stuff", along with several other HIDEOUSLY bad movies. "Scanners 2", anyone?

Max Jenius Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 You know, that GoBots movie blew pretty hard... does that count?
areaseven Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 You know, that GoBots movie blew pretty hard... does that count? Nah. As bad as it is, the Go-Bots movie can't compare to Robotech II: The Sentinels. Voltron: The Movie also blows chunks.
ShadowerV2 Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 Any of the tremor sequels. Hey hey hey... leave the sequels alone. If anything is bad it's the TV series. Now THAT should be shot.
GobotFool Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 (edited) Any of the tremor sequels. Hey hey hey... leave the sequels alone. If anything is bad it's the TV series. Now THAT should be shot. Anything that came after the 1st movie. I enjoyed the 1st one alot, but the sequels and the TV series ughhhhh! When I saw the TV series I was like, they dropped farscape for this crap ?! <_< Edited December 3, 2003 by GobotFool
Syngyne Posted December 3, 2003 Posted December 3, 2003 Anybody remember that Sci-Fi movie starring David Hasselhoff where I remember one scene this guy calls out to his mothership to stop "time" so they all can escape from the planet before it blew up. Now that took the cake. Holy mother of God, I remember that movie... or at least that specific scene.
mslz22 Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 Don't think anyone mentioned this one yet but does anyone remember The Wraith, Charlie Sheen ends up running over Ron Howard's brother with a magic space car with a Crystler (sp?) hood emblem on it.
areaseven Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 Coming soon to a theater near you: Harry Potter and the Escape from Neverland Ranch Passenger 69 For Your @$$ Only
ComicKaze Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 Don't think anyone mentioned this one yet but does anyone remember The Wraith, Charlie Sheen ends up running over Ron Howard's brother with a magic space car with a Crystler (sp?) hood emblem on it. It was a Dodge Interceptor. Wicked movie.
JRock Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 One question. Would any of you guys consider Demolition Man a bad Sci Fi movie? Judge Dredd gets my vote.
yellowlightman Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 One question. Would any of you guys consider Demolition Man a bad Sci Fi movie?Judge Dredd gets my vote. Demolition Man was funny and original in some parts, but it wasn't great. I dunno if I'd call it bad per se. Judge Dredd was a huge disapointment, did a miserable job of bringing over the charm and originality of the original comics. They're making a couple new Judge Dredd movies right now, but they will no doubt suck. <_<

JsARCLIGHT Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 (edited) I think just to stem the obvious anything shown on Mystery Science Theater 3000 should automatically be voted as a bad movie... this way everyone constantly naming movies covered by Joel and the Bots (and Mike, even though he sucks) can be satisfied. Edited December 4, 2003 by JsARCLIGHT
Oihan Posted December 4, 2003 Posted December 4, 2003 They're all crap if you ask me...every sci-fi movie ever made...all crap!

I don't think so, but 2000AD (the comic Judge Dredd appears in) was recently bought out by a big video-game company (name escapes me) so I think they're trying to 're-introduce' the franchise.
areaseven Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 "You wanted the worst, you got the worst! The lamest sci-fi film in the world..."
Phyrox Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 "You wanted the worst, you got the worst! The lamest sci-fi film in the world..." 417710 Wow.
renegadeleader1 Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I always thought the worst sci-fi movies where Space Hunter:adventures in the forbidden zone, buckaroo banzai, and what ever begins with a sci fi channel original productions(aside from dune) THE WORST has to be Starship troopers 2 :hero of the federation
capt.actionjackson Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Defintiely Zardoz, ST V, Swamp Thing and return of Swamp Thing. All are worthy of a nice MST3K roasting.
bandit29 Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Ya Judge Dredd was awful...pretty much unwatchable. Anyone remember Mega-Force? Most of Star Trek movies are bad. Nemesis was worse than an episode of ST:Voyager I'll be the first and nominate Transformers the Movie...it'll probably be a big turd
bsu legato Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I'll be the first and nominate Transformers the Movie. 417774 Can I second that nomination?
the white drew carey Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 Final Cut was pretty bad. The problem with most bad sci-fi movies usually isn't the the plot, but the execution. So many good ideas have been done so, so very wrong. It makes me curl up and weep.
