Nightbat Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I don't think that indigenous peoples wanting to fight off technologically advanced oppressors should be considered "Treehugging hippie crap". In the real world a lot of people even today are engaged in such struggles. Taksraven And I don't think you've seen "Men of War" or understand I'm talking not from ingenious people's PoV
taksraven Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 And I don't think you've seen "Men of War" OK, Sorry, I should have done my homework there...... or understand I'm talking not from ingenious people's PoV So what is the "Tree hugging crap" then? Taksraven
CoryHolmes Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 The only good thing about "Amazon Women on the Moon" was the Arsenio Hall bit. On this, we agree.
nhyone Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 (edited) If you have watched the Star Wars prequels, you owe it to yourself to watch this 7-part review: The reviewer has issues , but he still does a good job at the review. He dissects the plot, the characters and compares them to the real Star Wars movies. Note: the review is much better than the show. Edited December 24, 2009 by nhyone

CoryHolmes Posted December 25, 2009 Posted December 25, 2009 I know I'm going to get yelled at for this, but upon repeated viewings Revenge of the Fallen is a much better film than I had initially given it credit for. It didn't quite have that 'love at first sight' that Transformers did, but it's actually pretty entertaining. It's hardly perfect, but then I also enjoy pointing out errors, mistakes, and general crappiness about an equally entertaining film called Star Trek. So to recap: + on ROTF], - on Star Trek, and - - - - - for BSG. Let the bitchstorm commence

areaseven Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 (edited) Yet another candidate from The Asylum: Edited January 16, 2010 by areaseven
Vepariga Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 I havent seen a decent trailer from asylum yet,let alone a movie. who funds these guys?
Gubaba Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 I havent seen a decent trailer from asylum yet,let alone a movie. who funds these guys? People who aren't paying attention, who go into the video to get Transformers, and put up Transmorphers by accident.
areaseven Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 I havent seen a decent trailer from asylum yet,let alone a movie. who funds these guys? The U.S. government, as they use The Asylum movies to interrogate prisoners at Guantanamo Bay.
taksraven Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 People who aren't paying attention, who go into the video to get Transformers, and put up Transmorphers by accident. You would have to be drunk/stoned/high to make that sort of mistake. Taksraven
Agent ONE Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Who she?? Taksraven No disrespect to her or her fans, but she is a bit old to be playing the role of a Princess.
areaseven Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 No disrespect to her or her fans, but she is a bit old to be playing the role of a Princess. Hah! Like The Asylum cares about that. How did Deborah Gibson get cast as a scientist in Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus?
Wanzerfan Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 Who she?? Taksraven She's a former porn star who figured there was more money in B-list stuff.
Gubaba Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 She's a former porn star who figured there was more money in B-list stuff. I think Taksraven knows that (since he added the winking smiley).
reddsun1 Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 I think Taksraven knows that (since he added the winking smiley). I think there's probably more money for her in porn--this is probably just the end result of her efforts at making a career in "legitimate" film.
kanedaestes Posted January 16, 2010 Posted January 16, 2010 She actually had a semi decent hollywood career tho, never a star but a decent side actress, better than most porn stars do.
Agent ONE Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Why would a woman ever get out of porn? I mean she is still hot. She could totally still do it.
anime52k8 Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Yet another candidate from The Asylum: Is it just me or dose this look a hell of a lot like the first half of Return of the Jedi?
taksraven Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Why would a woman ever get out of porn? I mean she is still hot. She could totally still do it. Look it up on wikipedia. Its a very convoluted story. Thats all I can say otherwise the mods are going to get upset and close this thread. Taksraven
Kelsain Posted January 18, 2010 Posted January 18, 2010 Where do they get "The classic story that inspired James Cameron's Avatar?" Is it even more literally Pocahontas in Space? With more pecs and boobies of white people instead of blue?
areaseven Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 Where do they get "The classic story that inspired James Cameron's Avatar?" Is it even more literally Pocahontas in Space? With more pecs and boobies of white people instead of blue? This is yet another example of The Asylum's marketing tactics. Their specialty is producing what we call "mockbusters" - low-budget movies made to capitalize on a box-office hit.
EXO Posted January 19, 2010 Posted January 19, 2010 In an interview Cameron cited Princess of Mars as one of the stories that inspired the type of Sci-Fi he was doing... he also cited Dances with Wolves.
taksraven Posted January 20, 2010 Posted January 20, 2010 In an interview Cameron cited Princess of Mars as one of the stories that inspired the type of Sci-Fi he was doing... he also cited Dances with Wolves. Indeed he might have, but at the end of the day Lawrence of Arabia was the most human and hopefully the most accurate in its portrayal of such a dilemma. Lawrence had contempt for people on all three sides of the conflict that he was involved in (and thats just lumping the arabs together in one faction even though there were several), but at the end of the day he probably wanted to see beyond stupid nationalities and politics, a more humanist approach. Avatar is quite cartoonish and simplistic by comparison, god knows how bad the Princess of Mars would be?? Taksraven
Einherjar Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 As advertised on Sy-Fy, Snakes... on a Sub! Silent Venom
anime52k8 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 As advertised on Sy-Fy, Snakes... on a Sub! Silent Venom shit, I watched this on scifi this weekend. man with it bad.
Scream Man Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Does Wanted count as Sci-Fi? Coz I hated that movie passionately.
Ghost Train Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 (edited) SyFy should make a movie about a cable network that makes bad sci-fi movies.... OMG Recursive Algorithm! Edited January 27, 2010 by Ghost Train
areaseven Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Does Wanted count as Sci-Fi? Coz I hated that movie passionately. I would say yes, given all the cheesy special effects, but was it really that bad?
Einherjar Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 shit, I watched this on scifi this weekend. man with it bad. You could tell from the commercial that they really didn't care. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHPghzdcDVA
Wanzerfan Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 You could tell from the commercial that they really didn't care. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHPghzdcDVA No sh*t. God, that commercial had more bullshit than the pot (as in garden container, weedheads) factory that Mike profiled on Dirty Jobs.
