alfye Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 AMIAMI.com is tacking orders too: http://www.amiami.com/shop/?set=english&am.../e_display.html Quote
nexxstrait Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Doesn't seem all that different (proportions wise) from Toynami 1/100. Quote
Vifam7 Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 AMIAMI.com is tacking orders too: http://www.amiami.com/shop/?set=english&am.../e_display.html That's a good price. Even at MSRP, it's cheaper than the VF-19kai but with Amiami's 26% off discount, it's a pretty darn good deal. Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Tempting, but being this a V1.0, I think I'll wait for reviews. Quote
danth Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 (edited) Yeah, I guess my point is that there's gotta be some sort of compromise related to the tail section. It was earlier remarked that the backpack looked too high in battroid mode for the Hi-Metal 1/100 (which is fair) but the point is that it kinda has to be too long or too short somewhere. You know, the Toynami 1/100 had the ability to shift the backpack up or down slightly. The little hinge piece that held the backplate and the backpack together had two positions. If it was up, the backpack sat higher (good for fighter/gerwalk) and when it was down, it sat lower (good for battroid). The only problem was that it only snapped into place for one position (I think the up position). If Bandai implemented this right, it won't be a problem. Edited March 2, 2010 by danth Quote
Actar Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 New promo pics. Pre-orders also up. June release. 5,775 Yen. Cheaper than the VF-19 Quote
eugimon Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 looking good, this line gets better and better with each release Quote
ntsan Posted March 3, 2010 Posted March 3, 2010 Is VF-1 complete transformation with out part swaping? Also the engine cover can be removed? Can't wait for the superpak version.. Quote
anotheran Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Bandai is really doing a good job at tempting me to start collecting at the 1/100 scale. If it came out in April i'd pick one up. Off topic but does anyone have a good recommend for store in Japan to buy macross toys? Quote
Lonely Soldier Boy Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Thanks, eriku. Not digging the sculpt of the feet, besides they look too small. It's amazing it even has an ankle joint tho'. Oh, and it comes with optional TV hands too! Quote
CF18 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 In color. Full set of photos now up: http://www.amiami.com/shop/shop?vgForm=Pro...amp;set=english Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Very impressive, you think its a Yamato VF-1 at first, good job. Quote
zanderwitaz Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Very impressive, you think its a Yamato VF-1 at first, good job. why must they release the first one in the most boring paint scheme ever. im also not too happy about the uber flat backpack complete with holes. I might stick to my toynamis on this one. (I do love them) Quote
ntsan Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I am dumping toynami's for this, looks much better IMHO. Quote
GGemini Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Looks like this one will have more replaceable parts than the 19: - heatshield - intake covers - landing gear (these don't count since the 19 doesn't have any ) - hands Still, it looks nice and I can't wait to put it next to the Toynami Battlepod Quote
Fort Max Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 (edited) Looking good, I'll be skipping this first one though since it's dull, roll on a Focker version with Strike pack. Its just a prototype. At this point though what you see is probably what you're going to get. I don't mind it myself. Edited March 10, 2010 by Fort Max Quote
eugimon Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Nah, that opaque blue canopy is probably just a place holder so you don't notice the cockpit is missing from the prototype. Quote

More fun to play with Quote
Mommar Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I was never planning on trying to get every scale Valk they make but between how good this looks and the awesome Toynami Regult I may wind up with at least a few 1/100 scale items now. Quote
Fort Max Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Nah, that opaque blue canopy is probably just a place holder so you don't notice the cockpit is missing from the prototype. Ah yes, I forgot that one of the prototypes had a fully sculpted cockpit interior. Quote
pondo Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 if that get's good review AND they make more styles, I may totally abandon yamato Quote
Horatio Positronic Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Ngee Khiong has posted new pictures of the VF-1J Quote
jenius Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 it looks like it comes together a lot tighter than the Toynami... I've got high hopes for this little guy. Quote
lechuck Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 This looks outstanding. Good stuff Bandai's making here. At this point the only thing I'm missing are some side covers. I hope they include them from start and one up Yamato on this. Quote
CF18 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Hopefully that's not the final image. The VF100 VF-25 is a mess but it is covered with many nicely tempo-painted logo and lines. I hope this VF-1 will get similar treatment. Quote
AcroRay Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Bandai is really doing a good job at tempting me to start collecting at the 1/100 scale. 1/100 is a good scale for Macross, with a lot of related mecha support from Toynami, Imai, Arii and Bandai's reissues. Good space-wise, and also displays nicely with 1/144 Gundam items - like HCM. And don't forget the whole Chain Base display. Quote
AcroRay Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I'm not liking that blue canopy. I suspect that may be close to a final color choice, given the whole colorway seems so strictly based on the anime model, rather than a 'real type' look. I could live with that, though. Quote
Ignacio Ocamica Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I like fighter and gerwalk modes the best Something is off in battroid mode. There's too much space between the intakes and the chestplate, the torso is elongated. It has Vader feet For the price it's a good company for my 1/100 Yamato König Monster!!! Yamato's new 1/60 VF-1's are king though. Quote
